This place was so nice and relaxing. Darien was so polite and any extra requests we made he delivered. The food was delicious and they have gluten-free items. I would recommend going there.
I love that they have a multitude of gluten free options. Being sensitive to cross contamination, they are wonderful about making sure things are safe for me to eat. They even went over the menu and explained how they could modify it to make it gluten free. They do not have a dedicated fryer yet, so, I couldn't have anything from there, but with so many other options and delicious home fries it was totally fine. They also have gluten free baked goods!
My coworkers ordered lunch to celebrate the anniversary of my employment. I ordered The Toby Did it on gluten free bread with chips and a pickle. I did not receive a pickle or onions on my sandwich, they used the smallest ingredients possible for my sandwich, which was dwarfed by the barely toasted bread. The few bites of sandwich that I actually got tasted ok. See photo for more.
As a lifelong resident of Schenectady and being of Italian heritage, the dishes here are consistently executed with skill. Unfortunately (for me) I have celiac and cannot partake in many of the Italian staples I grew up on. Cornell’s has gone above and beyond to amend the dishes they can to ensure they are gluten free and to boot they offer the best GF bread I have ever had. Highly recommend.
My husband and I went for breakfast one morning, and it has been improved significantly. They do offer gluten-free rolls that my husband said were very good.
Food, service, and atmosphere were all outstanding. We went for brunch hoping for more gluten free possibilities, and although they haven't started making pancakes and waffles with gf flour yet, there were plenty of delicious egg options (Benedict-style too, if you're into it!)
Our waitress was lovely and accommodating, and besides wishing our cocktails were perfected, our experience was a delight and I'm sure we'll stop by again for lunch or dinner.
Service was prompt and friendly, we got wings with Honey Bourbon BBQ and Mozzarella Stuffed Meatballs to start, the flavor on everything was good, the homemade bleu cheese was really delicious. My girlfriend is gluten free, and they were fairly accommodating having gluten free pasta and chips instead of bread. I got the filet with Italian style mashed potatoes and broccolini with a side of pasta and fra diavolo. The broccolini was crisp and very flavorful, the potatoes were ok, and the steak was delicious, despite being slightly over cooked. The fra diavolo sauce was delicious! My girlfriends gluten free pasta was good, and the chicken that came with it was fantastic. All the drinks we had were great, and the whole restaurant has a really great atmosphere, can’t wait to come back again and sit on the patio when the weather is nicer.
We used Perreca’s catering for appetizers and dessert for our wedding this weekend. The food was delicious our guests loved that they had gluten free options. I recommend them for you party it was a great experience.
I have visited this establishment on a couple of different occasions and it is an extremely inconsistent experience! My colleagues really love the food so we keep going back, but, they pay a different amount each week for the same meal.... They have also messed up their orders a couple of times (ex: paid extra for gluten free bread, didn't get it) and eventhough my colleagues keep going here because they are creatures of habit they have never received any type of compensation eventhough it was the establishments mistake and they paid extra. Something like a free drink or a $1 -$2 off next time would go a long way in good customer service, instead they tell my colleague she should have brought the sandwich back to have it remade. This would be a major inconvenience and we usually dont have a long enough lunch break to do all that nonsense.
Additionally, I've tried to get an iced coffee or iced latte from here on a couple of different occasions. I just asked for a flavoring in my iced coffee/latte or I asked for one of the specials on the board and I've received drip coffee and paid $4-$7 with no flavoring or any type of milk.
Its just frustrating to pay for something and not get way you expect from, and it's a constant gamble at this establishment in my experience.
Being gluten and dairy free, they went out of their way to accommodate!!! I had a turkey breast wrap (gf wrap) and home fries!! No butter!! Thank you!!
We had my sister’s bridal shower at the City Squire and I cannot say enough good things about this place. Aaron and his team were friendly, accommodating and so pleasant to do business with. The food was fantastic (and there was SO much left over to take home) and Aaron did such an amazing job at accommodating our guests with gluten and nut allergies. The banquet menu offered so much as well, and the event space was absolutely stunning. It is the perfect combination of modern elegance and rustic charm. There is even access to the upper patio from the event space. If you are searching for a place to have an event in the Schenectady area, I highly recommend the City Squire! Our guests have been raving about it ever since the shower! You cannot go wrong here.
Great spot in downtown Schenectady for drinks and food. Stop by and enjoy a mojito.
Sushi menu is awesome and they can cater to those who have gluten allergies.
Food was delicious, wait staff courteous, and establishment very clean.
Is definitely visit here again.
My wife and I have had great meals here and the chief has been able to cook special gluten-free dishes for me. This latest time it was haddock in a butter sauce and cooked sliced tomatoes. We especially love the sautéed vegetables as a side dish which we special order each time we go there. Staff was very friendly and interactive. Wait time was a little long this last time, but they were packed.
We went there to celebrate 2 birthdays in our family/friend group. I accidentally left my phone there and called after they were closed to see if it was recovered. Not only did they answer the phone (I was not expecting them to since they were technically closed by the time I realized I didnt have my phone), but waited until I got there so I could get my phone that night instead of the next day. Timothy was even so kind he wouldn't accept my $20 as a thank you. He said he'd take $5 bc I insisted. Very nice people, good atmosphere, and I heard their gluten free pizza is amazing, which I will have to try next time. I will definitely return next time we go out.
Great spot! Mike's definitely has that cozy diner feel. Food is always awesome.
I love the all-day breakfast, but I'm glad to know they're now offering gluten free wraps. I hope GF bread and buns are in the future!
I wish I had thought to take pictures, because this place was absolutely phenomenal.
Breakfast Platter, $14... three eggs, toast, bacon, hash browns, and a short stack of fairly huge pancakes. Everything was just about perfect, though I wish they could have gotten the hash browns a tiny bit crispier.
For $8 they have a cinnamon bun French toast, which is this enormous fat cinnamon bun sliced into thirds and then prepared frenchtoast style.
The omelettes are fairly large too.
Only three real gripes. Number one, they do not have a gluten-free bread or toast option. It d/n affect me, but did affect a couple of other people in the group I was with. Number two, a side of corned beef hash was $8. Maybe that's a really huge side, but that's a pretty steep price, an entree price for a side. I ended up not getting it. I would imagine, that had I goten it, it would have been excellent like everything else was. Number three, there's syrup is just regular National brand quote unquote pancake syrup, and while they do offer real maple syrup, it is a $3 upcharge.
But those were relatively minor gripes. The food is great, the service was fantastic, extremely friendly, extremely helpful, and very accommodating of special dietary needs (aside from tbe lack of GF toast) and food allergies, and willing to make reasonable substitutions were possible.
A very good experience. Five people ate more or less like happy pigs for only $81.
A lovely spot in Schenectady with food well surpassing the neighborhoods other options.
A menu mix of traditional French, and offerings of Cajun, Italian, and American fare. Gluten & vegan options too. All stemming from proper techniques and seasoned well. Impressive is the volume of the menu made in house… pasta, breads, desserts, dry aged beef, etc.
The front & rear staff are friendly and accommodating.
The bar spirits seems to be growing in offerings as well as wine selections as the menu changes with the season and weekly specials.
Well worth stopping in for a peek, since the new owners took over in 2022.
One of my favorite places to go Glenville, NY. I am both gluten and dairy intolerant so really do not go out to eat much but not only do they have breakfast all day so I can eat eggs, omelettes, hash browns and the best gluten and dairy free roll I have ever had in any restaurant. Also fish, burgers, etc. They are so accommodating and I find that their staff is knowledgeable about food allergies and dietary restrictions so I don't have to go into a long explanation. Great service and friendly atmosphere. It is really my number one choice and I can actually enjoy going out to eat when we go there. I have added them to my FB page Through Sue's Eyes for those with similar issues as a guide for the best places to go out to eat. Thank you!!
