Went on a Thursday night and sat in the patio. Music was playing. They have happy hour till 7. Great 3 dollar tacos. And a huge portion of the menu is dairy, gluten free or both. Really delicious food
Great service and food. The spicy guacamole is delicious and the dirty veg tacos are great! Our favorite by far though was the mango Panna cotta paired with passionfruit sorbet. Amazing! The outside seating area is lovely! they also have lots of gluten-free options!

This cafe is located right across the street from the Eastern State Penitentiary. Stop in! It’s terrific!
First, it’s a big place, with a great vibe and friendly people. It was well organized and clean. Also, it had lots of choices for good preferences and allergies. I’m gluten free and dairy free and had many choices here. They have drinks and food. I can vouch for the oat milk latte.
This an LGBTQ friendly place, as evidenced by their signage and gender neutral bathrooms. I saw a lot of diversity in patrons: families, students, seniors and couples. Lots of tourists and locals alike.
Price were fair and accessibility was available. Parking is a bit harder in this area but you can find street parking with some patience. Worth the time to visit!
I say this was disappointment and want to preface I love the food here and always look forward to visiting, but the last 4 times I’ve visited I’ve had issues every time.
The last time I’ve visited, again a lot of things they didn’t have, but the thing I did order (the waffles) I never actually got. I waited over 30 minutes and was given no update. The person I was with got their food within 15 minutes. I was looked at now and then (avoided weirdly enough) as I waited but no one told me anything. I go up and ask if there is any rough idea when my food would be ready when I’m told the oven for the waffles wasn’t working. Again, had I been told from the beginning this wouldn’t have been as big of an issue. So I ended up just canceling the order because I didn’t want to wait another 30 minutes for my food.
The results of my past visits have me not wanting to visit for a while, unsure if or when I’d go back. :(
The first time they didn’t have the oat milk ice cream and other ingredients (multiple). No big deal, I just wish there was some note or posting somewhere to let me know ahead of time.
Every time over the last 4 visits they didn’t have any gluten free bread or gluten free bagels. Now as someone who is allergic to gluten, my options for food were cut to a very small selection. Again, please post it somewhere so I know to wait to come back until I can actually order the foods I have visited to get.
Literally the best gluten free pizza I've ever had. This is the only pizza place I go to now. Plus it's not overly expensive (especially for gluten free!!!)
Brunch was fantastic! The food was delicious, and the service was excellent—seriously, my servers (yes, multiple!) were amazing. They didn’t have gluten-free bread, but there were plenty of other gluten-free options to choose from. Super impressed and would definitely come back!

Went here because I was told it's a staple of no libs. Food was amazing and their staff was down to earth, I didn't feel like I was being served rather I was one of their regulars. Go hungry and ready to take food home with you the portions are large. I'm def not vegan or gluten but I was surprised by the amount of options they had to accommodate that.
Food is fresh and very tasty; the presentation is exceptional. They have freshly ground masa to make homemade tortillas. Lots of gluten-free options. They have an amazing mezcal selection and great cocktails.
Lovely spaces indoors and outdoors. Menu with options for vegetarian, vegan & gluten-free diets. Well selected wines. Recommend the beet salad, grilled octopus, and seafood pasta. Efficient service. Relaxed meal in a nice atmosphere. Kudos!
Had a wonderful brunch. I loved the biscuits with turkey sausage gravy. The side dish of quinoa potatoes with onions and peppers was amazing. The gluten free waffles were perfect.
Highly recommend
Wow! A Celiac's dream for SAFE dining with so many available gluten free menu items. Very delicious food, drinks, and a super friendly, Celiac educated staff. I felt comfortable and excited choosing dishes prepared gluten free both times I've eaten here with family and friends. The beautiful blue corn Pancakes de Pinole topped with fresh fruit and a mug of rich spiced coffee have become a favorite for my weekend brunch! Staff was also willing to adjust meals that I wanted to try with gluten-containing ingredients and substitute with wheat, barly, and rye-free Celiac-Safe alternatives to ensure my safety and still enjoy items that would originally be off limits for me. Thanks Cantina La Martina. You are great!
PHILADELPHIA, PA (Fairmount): we love places that are specifically catered to dogs where pet parents can have a ton of fun too and The Boozy Mutt is a perfect dog bar!
The Boozy Mutt is an off-leash dog park where both dogs and humans can eat and drink from the bar & grill. The food and drink menu is quite big (with gluten free, vegetarian, and vegan options clearly labeled), and the Mutt Menu has options like biscuits, burgers, pumpkin pie, a bark-cuterie plate full of all selections, and more! The drink menu includes cocktails, beer, seltzers, and non alcoholic choices.
The outdoor space has a turfed yard, umbrellas for shade, adirondack chairs, covered high-top seating, TVs, and heaters. The indoor space has a lot of seating and the window to order food and drinks. There is also a 2nd floor mezzanine space, but it was booked for a private dog birthday party when we were there. We LOVE that dogs are allowed inside. There are “rufferees” to keep an eye on the pups and clean-up, but always keep an eye on your dog. You can even give your dog a bath at their self-serve washing stations for an extra fee. There are events throughout the month and they can host parties!
If it is your first time visiting, admission is free. Thereafter, there is a day pass charge between $10-15 per dog, depending on the day (no charge for humans). You can also purchase a reasonably priced monthly or yearly membership.
Prior to your visit, make sure you register your dog online and provide proof of vaccinations (rabies, parvo, bordetella). All dogs older than 9 months old must be fixed. If you do not have a dog, you can still enjoy the space and get your doggy fix.
Fishtown Diner Review
Google Maps leads you right to the front door. Street parking is available (when you can find it), or you can use a nearby shopping plaza a few blocks away and then walk a short distance to the diner. Upon entering, we were greeted by smiling faces, a warm dose of Philadelphia nostalgia, and murals gracing nearly every wall. We were seated in front of a mural featuring the Liberty Bell, a subway train car, a Fishtown bus, the Love Statue, and of course my favorite, the Rocky statue with the art museum in the background. Behind the register, another mural pays homage to local sports legends: the Philadelphia Eagles, Flyers, 76ers, and Phillies, celebrating the city's rich heritage. The diner offers a mix of tables, booths, and counter seating, while the menu boasts plenty of choices at reasonable prices. We arrived at 11:30 AM, and the atmosphere really picks up around noon, so I recommend getting there before 12 if you can.
Now, let’s talk about the food. I enjoyed this experience with my wife and kiddo. My kiddo ordered the cookies and cream milkshake, which was rich and creamy, and he also tried the boston crème short stack pancakes. Although the portion was so large he couldn’t finish them, so come hungry! My wife, who has a gluten allergy, opted for the salmon and grits served with a fruit cup instead of bread. The salmon was cooked to perfection without tasting frozen or dried out, and its flavor was spot on. As for me, I went with the Fishtown omelet, accompanied by home fries and rye toast. When the server asked if I wanted peppers and onions with the home fries, I couldn’t resist when in Rome, right? Overall, the food was fantastic and the dining experience was truly memorable. Shout out to our server, Kat, you were awesome!

Super cute place with vibrant ambiance! The staff and service was impressive! The food and drinks were delicious. Knowledgeable and accommodating in gluten issues/allergies. Will definitely return!
Last Saturday at noon, I had the pleasure of visiting Silk City Diner in Philadelphia. A diner reimagined, after its major renovation in 2007. The transformation, under new management, has turned it into a sleek modern space while still maintaining that classic diner vibe. The diner is located on Spring Garden Street, and while parking can be a bit tricky, there are street parking options nearby, as well as a valet service if needed. The place was quite full, which is a clear sign of its popularity. Given the lunchtime rush, I'd recommend making a reservation before heading there. The outdoor seating area looked nice however, we opted to sit inside. Next time, I'll definitely sit outside to enjoy the good weather while eating. The music was upbeat and created a lively atmosphere, making it a fun place to be. For starters, I tried the mac and cheese ($13), which was rich and creamy with a nice crispy top. For my main dish, I ordered the Kabayaki Glazed Salmon and rice ($26), which was cooked just right with the salmon itself being tender and flavorful especially with the kabayaki. My guest opted for the BBQ chicken wings ($12), which were smoky and had a great balance of tangy sweetness. Their menu is diverse, offering various dishes, from comfort food to more upscale options. If you're gluten-free or prefer something lighter, they have options, so don't be afraid to ask your server. And do try their fresh-squeezed juice! It's a great way to start your meal. The service was attentive and welcoming despite the full house.
Our waiter was friendly, visiting often and offering suggestions. Overall, Silk City Diner is a great spot to experience diner cuisine in a modern setting, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a tasty and enjoyable meal.
The spring rolls were delicious, the seafood pho was good. The fishballs have flour so if you are gluten-free you’d have to request to remove them. It’s BYOB. There is a $10 fee if you bring your own bottle, though.
I got sick from their supposedly gluten free options, not a dedicated kitchen so possibly just cross-contamination but be careful if you’re sensitive or celiac. Food was very tasty though.
La Colombe in Fishtown is such a great spot to grab a coffee/matcha and relax. The space is large with plenty of seating, making it a comfortable place to sit and enjoy your drink without feeling cramped.
I ordered an iced oat strawberry matcha and their ham croissant, both of which were delicious! The matcha had a nice balance of earthiness and sweetness from the strawberry, and the oat milk made it super smooth. The ham croissant was flaky, buttery, and perfectly savory—definitely a great choice.
My boyfriend got a decaf strawberry cortado with oat milk and the gluten-free mudslide cookie. He really enjoyed both, and I had a bite of the cookie—rich, chocolatey, and so satisfying.
Really happy with this place. Food was good, came out quick. Moderately priced kids options and adult meals. Had the Nutella french toast brunch special.. delicious! Kids had chicken tenders and fries. They also have an arcade plus a big wooden boat with slides. Only downside was the lack of celiac friendly options. There were GF items, but the kitchen said there was cross contamination. Overall great experience!
