I don’t normally review , but WOW. I have had a gluten intolerance for a few years now and have recently been taking it very seriously. As you can imagine it’s been hard to find things to substitute things with gluten that doesn't taste like cardboard. If your gluten free THIS IS YOUR PLACE. I had a ham panini , cupcake and brownie all gluten free. I was so delighted how fresh and yummy the bread tasted , the cupcake was just right amount of sweet with a light tasting icing. Oh gosh, perfection. I haven’t tried the brownie yet but I’m confident it’s delicious. Too bad we live an hour away, but I will 100% be returning here soon, worth the trip. Thank you 3 Sisters!
It's a small place and very popular. I took my sister here who has a gluten allergy and she had grilled cheese with lentil bread (pictured and almost finished). She loved it and they do not skimp out on the cheese.
I had the Oaxaca sandwich which was very good and the spiciness was just right, paired with a Thai carrot soup. Coffee was good and served in a big glass mug.
We had a window view which was a bit cramped but felt alright. You see so many people come in of all ages and backgrounds. Servers were friendly, left us mostly alone and revisited when needed. Atmosphere is very local and rustic.
I called the place to order a gluten free cake and the lady who was talking to me just hang up the phone one without not finishing my sentence that’s rude and bad customer service .
The gluten-free eggs Benedict was okay, but nothing special. The service was really slow, and the server wasn't very clear about what contained gluten and what didn't, but luckily her colleague was.
Had a chance to try some of the cookies. And can easily say they are the best gluten-free cookies I’ve ever had moist full of flavour, soft and chewy 😋😋😋
This place is phenomenal! Options for vegetarians, injera is already gluten free.
The service is impeccable, the food is delicious, they even roast coffee and the aroma fills the place! I come here and love it
A beloved place for the entire family, featuring tasty crepes with a gluten-free choice. Excellent coffee and enjoyable conversation with friendly staff.

Wonderful dessert place with many dairy free and gluten free options. We tried a great piece of chocolate cake. We also had a brownie and a piece of chocolate truffle cake. Yummy!
This place was very busy during the holidays. Many many MANY dessert options, including gelato, as well as what looked like great actual lunch food options too. They had decent vegan brownies (my friend said) and I had a very good gluten free triple chocolate cake! My husband had a coffee, and his friend had a fancy latte which had a picture on the top! Think slightly higher pricing than Starbucks but much fresher and better quality, as well as much more accessible for those with food allergies or sensitivities.
Everyone enjoyed their drinks and desserts, but it was a bit of a wait. This was the second time my husband and I had tried to go here with friends, the first time there was no seating left for 3, so we left, but this time we had 5 people and eventually we got seating. My husband and I were there for about 25 minutes waiting for a table for 5. We could have put a couple tables together ourselves, but I think they didn't let us do that because of fire-safety exit protocols, so we had to wait. There is self-serve water which is great. The place has lots of windows and comfortable seating of various types (arm chairs and regular chairs at tables). Highly recommend if you're visiting or living in Orleans, especially if you can go back at a less busy time.
It's rated among the top cafes in Ottawa. The food and ambience is really good. If you are looking for a good brunch place, I absolutely recommend it. They have a good extensive menu to choose from with many veg and gluten free options.
So at first you might be surprised if the reviews really are true to the place, on arrival you would enter and first it would be a tick box ✅ for atmosphere
Then tick ✅ for the service, really kind and helpful staff.
The food we ordered the Breakfast scone Back & Cheddar at 8.50 + tax for 11.30$
Bonus: Has Low-gluten options and opens at 6:30am YES - perfect for
morning people.
A short walk from anywhere this place is worth a visit for a snack breakfast or just coffee.
We were driving through Manotick and decided to stop here. Super cute little place, bought a few baked goods but our favourite was the crack cookie and the fresh cinnamon rolls. The cinnamon rolls were soft without feeling too chewy like undercooked and not dry at all. Will definitely be back! They have lots of goodies and gluten free dessert options too.
What a gem! As someone who eats gluten-free and dairy (due to illness( it’s rare to find a place that delivers on both! and this restaurant exceeded all expectations. The curry was absolutely amazing: rich, flavorful, and deeply satisfying. You can tell everything is made with care and fresh ingredients. Friendly staff and cozy atmosphere made the experience even better. Can’t wait to go back!
Bottega Nicastro is much more than a “speciality grocery store”. It’s an experience of how the Italian way of food shopping and casual dining can be successfully exported to another country.
Whether you want to cook from scratch or put together a quick meal, you will find all kinds of packaged and fresh ingredients. Dozens of varieties and top brands of pasta, sauces, oils, vinegars, pickles, sott’olio, preserves, cookies and cakes fill the shelves. The gluten free section is well stocked. Elegantly packaged Nicastro brand products guarantee affordable quality. The deli area offers a rich array of cheeses and cured meats, and they will freshly grate the parmigiano for you.
The founders, Rocco senior and Giuseppe, and their sons, Rocco junior and Pat, are always welcoming and ready to advise. If you chat with them and hear their stories, you will appreciate their relentless, decades-long pursuit of high quality and service.
There’s more to Bottega than grocery shopping. For many Ottawans, it’s a place to meet and have a chat. You can sip an excellent Illy espresso at the coffee bar. In the cosy, bustling restaurant at the back, the award-winning chef prepares a seasonal menu and customers enjoy a friendly, gourmet experience.
My Italian husband and I eat healthy, quality Italian food every day in Ottawa as if we still lived in Italy. Thank you, Bottega Nicastro, for making that possible.
Late night cravings met the perfect match here. The smoothies are spot on, blending taste with health in every sip. Waffles and crepes aren't just your regular fare; Belgian chocolate really ups the game. And for those watching their diet, the vegan and gluten-free options don't disappoint. Friendly staff are the cherry on top, making sure the vibe stays as uplifting as the beats in the background. Definitely a spot where the desserts and bubble tea keep things fun.
I ordered the Gluten-Free Thanksgiving Dinner for Two. It was very disappointing, especially after seeing all the positive reviews posted on Google. The turkey was not that moist and the mashed potato was overly thick. The worst part was the gravy, which was a pale jelly-like substance that was tasteless and rather disgusting looking. Looked like it was made with a lot of thickener but hardly any turkey stock. The only thing tasty was the cranberry sauce. I doubt I would order from them again.
Lovely spot with delicious drinks and light food. Breakfast sammie, gluten-free banana oat bar, & iced latte all get two happy thumbs up! There are a few patio tables, bench seating, tall stools, and small tables available for a good variety of seating.
I have been going to this cafe for years, I love their coffee and gluten free options, their grilled cheese sandwiches are legendary (according to my boyfriend). Worth making the trip to this neighbourhood just to go to Red Door!

This cafe is incredible! The coffee milkshake was amazing! My partner and I had two of their waffles and I cannot tell you how amazing they were! I am celiac and I was skeptical of all gluten free waffles, but they tasted impeccable! And then when they tasted good, I was worried that they weren’t gluten free but I feel fine now so they definitely were! Highly highly highly recommend. So glad I found another place that can make gluten free taste good!
We just hosted our parents 50th Anniversary in their private lounge area - it went so smoothly, the food was delicious, service was spectacular and our young children even loved the restaurant. They even had many gluten free options. We would no doubt make a return soon. Thanks again.
Lovely cafe with great service. Gluten free and Vegan options available. Love the old fashion uniforms, adds to the charm. Their specialty latte is delicious.
I order a customize salmon sandwich in a non gluten bread. Delicious. I came with friends and they love it too. Gladys

The perfect mix of bookstore and coffee shop. Coffee is great and the selection of book is as well. It’s often packed with Carleton students so finding a seat can be tricky. They have great gluten-free options from Strawberry Blond bakery as well.

First Impression: Luxurious and romantic cafe. It is perfect for a mini date or a meet up with friends.
Order: Cappuccinos, earl grey tea, gluten free blueberry.
Favourite: The service was great.
Critiques: May not be affordable for everyone. Also, the blueberry dessert looked like a blueberry but did not taste like it.
Bonus: The desserts are like art.
Take Away: Great place to visit on a night out.

Lovely local coffee shop! A variety of pastries and many of them are gluten free and/ or vegan. Many coffee options available with lots of different types of milks. I bought a bag of ground coffee that I can’t wait to try too! They also sell soaps and plants and lil things. A decent amount of seating available too. I also really really appreciate that they are still holding a vaccine mandate! Makes me feel so much safer. Thank you so much!
This was my second visit to this location in 2 years with girlfriends for a Sunday morning coffee and treat. The place was packed as always on the weekends but it didn’t ruin our time at all. Treat Options available were full and plenty as usual and the staff were very helpful and caring. We tried a bunch of different Biscotis this time & enjoyed them all (especially the apriccot). Prices are great! Coffee was delicious, and thankfully they had some gluten free options for one of our Celiac friends :) thank you again for being consistantly delicious. Only complaint about this place now is that usually the music is a bit loud even when there is a tonne of people, but very minor!!
Went in because of the great reviews this place was getting for gluten free! However when I asked those working there, they didn’t have a clue about which of their products were safe for celiacs. They do have gluten free bread, but had no idea which ingredients were safe to eat. I didn’t feel comfortable eating there.
Back to this restaurant after a 15+ year gap (while we were living elsewhere) and everything is still great. Table wait staff were very well trained and the maitre d's were attentive, personable and were easy to converse with. Both dishes that we chose and the appetizer were large, generous portions that we took home. They have a whole page in the menu dedicated to gluten free options (not just footnotes).
Excellent service, The staff was attentive and helpful, that made our experience exceptional. Ordered gluten free oat meal with peaches which was delicious. Worth trying it. ...
Asian fusion restaurant based in Vietnam
- Note: AMEX cards are not accepted
- Pros 1: The menu has all kinds of Asian cuisines, so there is something for everyone (Vietnamese, Japanese, Korean, Chinese), and the restaurant is spacious. The distance between tables is wide and comfortable, located in Chinatown, close to downtown, desserts available nearby
- Cons: There are too many menus
- Suggestions: I think it would be good to have a sales method where you can eat bubble tea at a low price no matter what menu you order (in terms of inventory and additional profits)
Pad Thai, ramen, Chinese Vietnamese, Japanese noodles and rice, fried rice, even curry
Spring rolls, vegan menu, gluten-free menu, and bubble tea
I had Vietnamese Vermicelli or Rice Bowl (VR5) and
Pad Thai Chicken (P5)
First of all, the bun had a clean taste and the vegetables were fresh
However, the pad thai was quite salty, which was surprising, but it was delicious
(I think it would be more delicious if you adjusted the seasoning a little)
Next time, I plan to order ramen and bun cha Hanoi
and I will revise and add the review then
A gem of a spot. Only open for about a year at this location, this place offers fantastic food at excellent prices.
They do a great range of sandwiches, and offer an excellent gluten-free bread option.
Their pierogies are amazing. Very light, not at all stodgy as some can be.
The potato salad is delicious, just the right balance of ingredients so that none overwhelms the whole.
They also do all-day breakfasts and an amazing range of teas and coffees.
Everything is made fresh to order, and the service is friendly and welcoming.
With so many options on Elgin Street this place is easily overlooked, but it's well worth trying.
Awesome local coffee shop. Totally worth the 10 minutes walk from the core area. Highly recommend their breakfast wrap as well as their gluten-free fudge brownie!
Excellent clean tasting coffee. Baked goods include gluten free are tasty. Clean, modern vibe. Too many chairs/stools are hard or uncomfortable. Enjoyed the place very much.
Gorgeous spot to sit and have a beverage or snack. Really stunning decor and the food and drinks we had were great.
Only downside is there's really only macarons if you're gluten free - but they have a fun selection of them so that's nice. The other baked goods look incredible though. It's nice to have Tealive bubble tea in the same location.
The Gluten Free options were amazing here! The whole first row of the pastry case was GF (and some vegan!). I couldn’t pick just one thing, it all looked so delicious!
My shaken espresso was also perfect and the staff were all so lovely. Absolutely returning and recommending to all my GF friends!

Amazing experience at Rio Açaí! The açaí is delicious, creamy, and comes with super fresh toppings. The service is excellent, and the atmosphere is really welcoming. Plus, it’s great to have gluten-free and vegan options on the menu. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a healthy and tasty snack. I’ll definitely be coming back!
