It was a real treat, excellent food! We had a veggie and vegan breakfast which kept us full for most of the day visiting Glasgow. Vegan and gluten free bread and cakes were great!
My family stopped here almost immediately after arriving in Glasgow for the first time. We were exhausted from a long flight, barely standing! The Willow Tea Rooms brought us back to life - it’s rare all of us to enjoy something at the same time, but this won everyone over. Absolute heaven. I got the gluten free traditional afternoon tea and my partner got the savory tea. Our son ate all of his ham and cheese sandwich, which is rare, as he’s very picky. Thrilled with our experience, will be back!
This place was fantastic, got the last table available for breakfast. They have a full gluten free menu which covered just about everything I could want. I ate a mushroom Benedict which was delicious. Staff super helpful and friendly.
We went for an early dinner and were seated quickly. They have a dedicated gluten free menu, but the menu and staff make clear that there could be cross contaminants. I got the Buffalo cauliflower, which was great. Then the Dan Dan noodles which they offer with gluten free noodles. I was brought a massive amount of angel hair pasta with hardly any sichuan sauce. It was disappointing and did not taste good. I didn’t let the server know because I didn’t want to have to eat what was brought to replace it. May return for drinks and music but probably not for mains.
We were Glutened !!
I am diagnosed celiac and my husband is Gluten intolerant..we visited this cafe and ordered 2 Gluten free cheese burgers.
The lady taking our order was not English and we had trouble communicating with her...we were told the chips were not gluten free which was fair enough so went ahead with the 2 cheese burger orders.
We were then approached by another staff member who told us they could not provide 2 cheese burgers but we could have two chicken burgers instead also as we had paid for the fries which we could not have they told us they would replace the fries with two soups.
The meal was ok.....chicken burgers were not nice they were cheap reformed chicken deep fried frozen chicken steaks in a brioche bun..
Two hours after this meal i was physically sick from ingesting gluten and my husband suffered for three days with abdominal pain from also ingesting gluten.
We don't know which part of the meal contained the gluten and we are certain there was gluten in some of our meal.
This was not some cross contamination issue this was us eating food that was not gluten free going off our symptoms...
Will not be visiting again and celiac/gluten intolerant sufferers beware of the gluten free food offered in this cafe.
Food was delicious, really good gluten free and vegan options. One item was incorrectly marked gluten free on the menu but the staff were quick to correct it.
Update on an earlier post. This time we dined in the Bath Street entrance version. Saturday lunchtime. Restaurant was very busy yet staff pleasant and helpful, willing to chat and discuss the menu options for a Coeliac member of our party. I was surprised another of the party had a dairy allergy which added to the complications of menu discussion.
Starters arrived, looked and tasted great.
My own main course a Pizza infernale was huge and delicious. Much better than the cardboard box variety from supermarkets. One of the main reasons for going out for a meal. Properly cooked stuff from professionals.
Other members of the party joined in with the delicious notation. Chicken wrapped in ham, summer salad, garlic bread extras shared about the table.
We enjoyed the meal and the chat. The atmosphere was very good too. The only issue as the restaurant was very busy, it was also loud and at time the discussions went unanswered or we missed the point in the story.
We had a very tasty lunch, and the service was excellent. Sid in particular was very knowledgeable about allergens. Great selection of gluten and dairy free food/drink choices. Would definitely come back :)
Have ordered on Uber Eats and the gluten free pizza is amazing! I have coeliac disease, and I didn't have any issues from cross contamination so it's great to have a safe place to order pizza from that takes allergens seriously. The goats cheese pizza was particularly delicious! Thanks to the staff for taking great care with preparing it 😊
Fantastic food from stews to sandwiches and scones to gateaux!
A friendly team and great vibe make it a firm favourite! The gluten free and veggie options are a revelation. Check this place out just wish I lived closer.
Gluten free options was our priority for husband, and he was very happy with his gluten free bread, bacon, eggs and beans.
I had the Scottish breakfast which was lovely.
They do gluten free soup also, which we haven't yet tasted, but hope to.
Not posh nosh' but good food in a homely cafe with very helpful staff.
Best brunch in Glasgow! Loads of gluten free options, or alterations to make it gf. Had the avo toast with eggs & the flavor was amazing! Also, that bacon…fantastic!
Wow! What a great find. Received a voucher for Xmas and today 4 of us went for brunch. The menu was varied, suitable for veggies, vegan and gluten free. It was delicious and we’ve already decided we will be back very soon…and what’s more they do doggie birthday party’s.
A lovely little cafe and bakery, with some top notch pastries, a great gluten free brownie and lovely coffee. Highly worth a walk out of your way to visit.
best gluten free bread i’ve ever had!! just wish they’d have it specified on the menu as an option because i didn’t know until i asked. genuinely SO good!!
Amazing cake, taste adorable, service is amazing and very kind must visit if you are in Glasgow city center they have gluten free options and eggless too
Perfect! Amazing food, coffee drinks and freshly made smoothies. We are gluten free and the options were great (they make their own gluten free bread). The Florentine egg bake was to die for! The Italian sandwich was also excellent with high quality meats and cheese- served with a fresh salad and unique little potato salad. The whole staff was lovely and very friendly too! We were so lucky to find this place!
Very disappointing first visit. Had been meaning to visit for a while and finally decided to stop in. As a coeliac your options are incredibly limited, with the only dishes that can be made gluten free are those that can easily swap out normal bread for gluten free bread (and chips). Of which there is a £1.25 fee. The only milk alternative they have on site is oat milk as well. I ordered the duck leg & nduja hash, fried egg with sour cream (£14.95). This also came with a piece of toast. There was very little duck meat in the dish and it was shredded which wasn't mentioned on the menu. Another thing that wasn't mentioned was the sheer amount of cabbage that was mixed into this dish. The toast (£1.25 extra) was ice cold, the portion was small for the price and the dish itself was very oily. For the price I would be expecting more, especially considering the full breakfast is almost the same price (20p in the difference).
My partner ordered a cappuccino (£3.70) that came in what seemed to be a flat white cup. Incredibly small size for a cappuccino especially considering the price. He also ordered the breakfast bun (£9.50) with the black pudding being the only component that wasn't cold upon arrival.
The layout of the menu was also quite poor and due to design choices it was difficult to read in some places. Also the online menus prices are not correct and are slightly increased in the restaurant.
Overall we were disappointed as we had high expectations going in. Despite the decor and atmosphere being impeccable the aforementioned issues let down the establishment for us.
Two days in a row we, a group of six, breakfasted bright and early at Bramble because the menu has so many choices for vegetarians and the gluten-free, the superbly plated up food is delicious, and the service is friendly and first-rate. For the first breakfast I had a savoury dish, choosing chilli scrambled eggs, with halloumi and cheesy hash browns. Second day I opted for the sweet, the special of the day peaches and cream pancake. Pancakes were light, the fruit in season, and the compote complemented nicely with the crumble. Next time we're in Glasgow, we'll be there 9am sharp!
Visited yesterday with a cycle group. I am gluten free but I was cold and hungry. Envious of the others in the group tucking into hot filled rolls. I asked if I could have a simple bowl of scrambled egg with pepper, delicious and hit the spot, thank you so much. Coffee was great and the service was very quick.

I ordered from here today and it was so lovely. It was my first time so I phoned to confirm that everything was gluten free as I'm coeliac and Tom was super helpful and made my order first to reduce the contamination risk! Great customer service and yummy fresh food. Definitely recommend!!
EXCEPTIONAL CAFE, trust me. Creative menu cooked by actual chefs who know how to balance flavours, with hip interiors and a feeling of spaciousness while being cozy. Seasonal pumpkin spice latte tasted like Canada. Gluten free breakfast was one of the tastiest I’ve had on my travels and I’ve been everywhere. Get the chilli oil! They should bottle and sell it. I walked in here on my birthday and and it was perfection.
amazing food loved the lentil garlic rosemary soup and the most fabulous gluten free bread. Staff friendly and helpful. Really good sized portions and appearance of other diners food looked consistently beautifully presented and everyone cleared plates
Really nice meal we had today, my partner is Celiac and they really made an effort to accommodate her, the food was delicious, and they clearly make everything fresh which really shows. Also the Syrian coffee they serve is amazing. Definitely a cut above your regular café food.
I ate at this restaurant this evening.I ordered food and said I was allergic to gluten, they reassured me it was not a problem and they would take care of it.
They brought me a plate with aubergine and tortillas, I ate them but then, because I didn't feel well, I asked if the tortillas were gluten-free and they said they had gluten.
It is an incatteable mistake, I am celliac but I do not have a reaction that requires hospitalization, but someone else could have had a severe allergic reaction.
These mistakes should not be tolerated. Without a doubt I will not return to this restaurant.
Great customer service from Frank. I only came in to enquire about gluten free products and left buying an array of muffins. The store was clean and inviting. I would be back purely on the customer service.
Absolutely fantastic brunch spot in East Glasgow!
Dog friendly, which is a big plus these days.
The space isn't massive but they also haven't crammed everything in, so you don't feel claustrophobic. Lovely high ceilings, big windows, and they've kept some original decor from the tenement days.
The service was fantastic and the staff was absolutely lovely. Attentive but not invasive in any way!
The food itself was nothing short of phenomenal. My husband had a sweet potato and harissa soup to start with fresh sourdough - expertly done!
He then had the pastrami sandwich and myself the Turkish shakshuka with gluten free bread. (I opted for the fried potatoes too because I'm only lightly intolerant). The shakshuka was super tasty and a great portion. Personally I prefer my shakshuka a bit more saucy/pureed and less whole roasted veg but that's just a personal preference. I also asked for some garlic yogurt which just topped the lot off perfectly.
The coffee was also really nice, I had an iced double espresso with oat milk and caramel. It shouldn't be difficult to get a nice iced coffee but I often find myself lacking. Not here though, perfectly balanced and you could tell the espresso was perfect as well.
Overall we had a lovely little brunch, a good chat with our server, and some leftovers we're eating as we speak! Can't recommend enough and can't wait to go back and try more of their dishes!
Nice, cozy place with extra space upstairs. Good choice of teas and coffees, breakfast and lunch menu are both available and affordable. Vegan and gluten-free items included, good selection of scones and cakes. Nice personnel, quick service. Dog-friendly!
