I had dinner twice at the Lo Sgabello restaurant during my stay in Scanno. The restaurant is located near a public car park (blue lines). It has several seats, I recommend calling to find out availability as it is always crowded. The restaurant offers various local cuisine at medium prices. Of note is the possibility of requesting gluten-free first courses, however they do not have gluten-free bread. The service is quick and courteous.
In another review I gave the service 3 stars but I find myself forced to give only 1 this time. Unfortunately, every time I went (and I go at least once a month given the passion my children have for this place) we had some problems with the service. Let me start by saying that we are forced to take 3 gluten-free menus and 1 normal one. Once the gluten free ones arrived first and after exactly half an hour the normal ones arrived, another time the opposite with a quarter of an hour wait (I'll let the children imagine the wait). I understand that the cooking is separate but don't tell me that the timing is different. If the order is for the same table the dishes MUST arrive together, especially if there are children. A sad point is that every time, even though dessert is included in the children's menu, if you don't ask for it and ask for it several times, they won't bring it to you. It doesn't seem very cute to me. For the rest, environment and food, I can't say anything, on the contrary...
But improve the service...
We found ourselves here on April 25th to see Sulmona and they recommended this place to us which we wholeheartedly recommend to everyone, because we had a complete and assorted traditional house starter, the first course was excellent and tasty old mule tagliatelle, a mixed platter of meat and kebabs of both meat and liver, the house dessert was good and also for celiacs. Clean environment, quick waiters and average price around 30 euros each. Truly recommended for a visit to Sulmona, an easily accessible center and a very welcoming place.
Typical trattoria where you can have lunch after a day on the slopes of Roccaraso.
The staff was friendly and professional.
The quality of the food is average. The service was quite fast.
The environment is informal.
It is advisable to book because the place is not very large.
At lunch they have two shifts: 12.30-14.30.
They also have some gluten free options.
The fries are homemade, hand cut.
The bathroom is very small.
Parking is easily found on the street in front of the restaurant.
Excellent quality/price ratio.
After visiting the murals in Aielli, we had a very good lunch at Lillino. Abundant dishes and excellent prices. Private parking for cars. Cooking also for celiacs.
We celebrated my husband's 50th birthday in this restaurant with the whole family, we were 16 people including one person with celiac disease who was able to eat the same menu provided for everyone, they are really very attentive to gluten-free. We had a great time, we ate very well, everything was very good and the portions were generous. The friendly, courteous and punctual service. Excellent quality/price ratio
We went for a baptism. Beautiful location with large green spaces and a swimming pool. Impeccable service. As a celiac and lactose intolerant I found maximum availability and they managed with extreme patience to offer me a complete menu from starter to dessert. Truly recommended
Really very good roasts, excellent chips. Discreet service and nice atmosphere. Appreciable care for gluten-free. Average price. The only flaw is the coffee, I recommend not taking it so as not to ruin the excellent taste of the dishes you have just eaten. Advised.
As a celiac I define it as paradise. Discovering this place in L'Aquila was wonderful, I found everything, I even booked a super good cake. Delicious pastries, excellent bread, stocked with products of all types, from biscuits to pasta, to frozen foods, etc. Kind and helpful owner, I hope to return to L'Aquila ☺️😋
I was with them for a ceremony. Beautiful and evocative location. Very professional staff and truly excellent and carefully prepared food. Also recommended for gluten-free 👍
I had dinner at Bella 'Mbriana during a visit to Sulmona. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating. The restaurant offers various pizzas, some with local ingredients. The note of honor concerns the particularly soft and tasty gluten-free pizza. Friendly staff and average prices.
Not recommended for celiacs, my wife felt sick even though they assured us she could be at ease.
I reply to the owner's response: are you a doctor? You wrote the idiocy and I advise you to be more polite with your customers as well as to learn more about celiac disease. If you had apologized you would have made a better impression.
Celiacs who read and not only will know how to judge you.
I reply again: your manners say a lot about you so I will not waste any more time with you. I strongly advise you to learn more about celiac disease because people's health is at stake. Never see you again or hear from you again.
P.S. Speaking of ignorance: they say celiacs
"What happens in the case of gluten ingestion in a celiac person on a gluten-free diet?
The clinical manifestations following the ingestion of gluten in subjects affected by celiac disease are extremely variable. Some subjects do not show any symptoms, others may show symptoms immediately or hours after ingestion". Excerpt from the AIC website.
Compare with what you wrote and, if you think so, you can refresh your knowledge instead of correcting the blunders. In my opinion, you are not giving a good image but you certainly know more than the AIC. Continue on your own from here on.
Scripta manent
I didn't know it, after entering I read gluten-free and they confirmed that everything from the ice cream to the cones and waffles were completely gluten-free I was almost moved.
As a celiac it was really nice to know that you can eat all flavours, and being artisanal the quality is of a high level.
Truly congratulations to all the staff!
I will go back every time I come.
Fantastic location, amazing food, handmade pasta, nice atmosphere, fast service, gluten free options available, kind personnel. Highly recommended, will visit again and maybe spend a night out two as well to enjoy the beautiful mountains in the surroundings.
Returning from the visit to the Rocca, thirsty and tired, we rushed into the restaurant... and it was a real love at first sight! For the owner, who welcomes us with a disarming smile and with whom an unprecedented emotional closeness was then established, for the niche products present and available for purchase, for the terrace in front and with a breathtaking view of the panorama below. What to say?! Want to sip a fresh beer again (among other things gluten-free, particularly appreciated by me who have sensitivity) in that enchanted place... Thanks Nicola, hopefully see you soon!
Sara and Nicola
The restaurant offers good food, with gluten-free options including various courses, bread and pasta. Among the appetizers I enjoyed very good veal carpaccio, for a mixed appetizer of cold cuts and cheeses normal, quite simple. The good meat tartare, but perhaps made with mixed meat, was two colours, not homogeneous. For main courses, fillet meat with truffle, tender and delicious, with excellent medium cooking, for good Irish Angus steak. Very good polenta with wild boar. For wine, good wine list, ordered a Montepulciano Abruzzo, well structured, for glasses not suitable for red wine, very small, to be changed for a better appreciation of the wines on the list. For dessert, very good tiramisu, puff pastry with chocolate cooked perhaps too much. Friendly staff, average prices, good service. Comfortable environment, with two rooms, large crowd. Central location at the beginning of the historic centre, easy to reach, with several car parks nearby. In general I recommend it, the food is good.
I've been coming here for years and the quality has never dropped, in addition to the delicious, high-quality food, the low price and the plentiful dishes (really plentiful), there is care and attention for those with intolerances, with gluten/wheat-free pasta available both short and long and with lactose-free cream. In short, excellent year after year.
Christmas Eve, perfect!!! In addition to having eaten very well, an impeccable organization for the gluten-free menu, the location is certainly one of the most beautiful we have in L'Aquila and the price, for what they offered, is practically zero! Compliments!!
Exceptional. Everything top notch. Very varied and rich starter. The delicious Tagliata and the super special pizzas, even gluten-free. The environment is welcoming, clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly, polite and prepared. The owner Tosello deserves a special note. I'll be back for sure.
If you are looking for a place suitable for all types of occasions in Avezzano, you have found it! Renovated, it offers not only many types of beers and wine, but also foods such as burgers, tongs and excellent quality gluten-free dishes. The place is a meeting place for Avezzano and surrounding areas.
Passed by by chance, cute place and excellent service, good food and gluten and milk free for me. Only the coffee needs improvement, otherwise I recommend it. Happy to have found a comfortable place to return to eat
I was on my motorbike in September, an enchanting place for dinner with kebabs and amatriciana with pasta for celiacs, all delicious, very kind staff, excellent prices with products of real quality, a place very popular with motorcyclists
comfortable environment, but above all an excellent quality of food (in particular truffles and wild boar). Always friendly and attentive service at a good price.
Highly recommended. They pay attention to the presence of allergens, gluten in my case
