Vegan Pastry Lab is one of our favorite places to go to. Everyone at home is obsessed with it. We end up spending so much money every time we visit because we just want everything they have to offer. My husband and I are gluten-free, and the gluten-free vegan treats never disappoint. We love their "cheesecake," their PB & J Bars, their Brownies, their cupcakes, their cookies, they SCONES (I just discovered these), literally everything. My girls are obsessed with the cinnamon rolls, the croissants, we literally cannot get enough of this place. The people that own the place and work there are all super sweet. I've also had breakfast sandwiches there (vegan and gluten-free) and they have coffee drinks too. If you haven't checked it out, you need to.
We love ramen in our family and Ramen Azuma is inarguably one of our top two favorites!
The establishment has style. They have great outdoor sitting. The staff is very young and always warm and friendly! A lovely young man wished me Happy International Women’s Day when I dined there on the occasion.
The food is always great when dining in. I’ve done multiple take out orders and sometimes the bao buns have had almost no sauce but I’ve called the restaurant, since we can never resist and we eat them on our way home, and they’ve had our sauce ready to grab. They got my vegan ramen wrong once out of about 10 take out orders.
I’m vegan and deeply appreciate that they have not only one but three ramen selections! I’ve never eaten at a ramen restaurant that has more than one! And they have gluten-free noodles!!!! The broth is so flavorful and the vegetable selection is both diverse and generous! The tofu is one of the best preparations I’ve tasted in a ramen.
There are 3 or 4 vegan options for appetizers and the vegan tofu bao bun never fails!
There is no alcohol served. My daughter who is not vegan has enjoyed some of the desserts.
There have been small hiccups and the staff has risen to the occasion every time. I’d say that dining in is much more likely to offer a great experience and that take out can be hit or miss especially if they’re busy.
Definitely recommend Ramen Azuma for its friendly staff and delicious, extensive ramen offerings.
Picked up 2 of the same bowls on Sunday - one was to have gluten free granola and the other wasn't. They forgot to label which was which, so I took one and they remade another that would have gluten free granola. They went to put it back in the bag again after it was made and it was unlabeled... I asked for a label and noticed that they added cacao nibs and walnuts even though I requested to have it without them because I do not care for them. After waiting for my bowl to be remade the first time, I decided to just take it wrong because they didn't seem too thrilled to make another one. I was told I could just "scoop it off the top". Considering I paid for these, it would have been nice to have them the way I ordered them. I was frustrated already at this point. Then, to top it all off I went home and decided to try it even though I was unhappy with it and chewed on a piece of hard rubber/or plastic that came from inside of my bowl. I sent an email immediately on Sunday - no response. Sent another one Monday - still not response. Absolutely terrible that no one would reach out to me to make this right after this horrible experience.
Great atmosphere, a contemporary buisiness vibe in the middle of a shopping district that offers a great selection of vegan/gluten free pastries and snacks. The latte here is my personal favorite and they even offer alternative sugars! If you want a healthy morning breakfast stop then Salud Cafe is where you should go, they just hired a new barista and she is absolutely fantastic. If I could rate higher than 5 starts I would.
The atmosphere is always inviting yet elevated. The menu is curated with cultural and specialty dishes! I'm gluten-free but will sometimes break for their dessert croissants! And the staff are kind and genuinely attentive. My family and I always enjoy ourselves at Patisserie Florentine!
Finally, I had a chance to visit Balthazar Bakery and was impressed by their pastries. This place is small mostly for “grab and go” They also sell a variety of good quality products and of course amazing bakeries. Great selection of bread, pastries, and cakes. I chose plain croissant $3,75, cardamom bun $3,75, almond croissant $4,50, pistachio cookie $3,50 and buckwheat hazelnut bouchon $4 (gluten-free). Everything was delicious, my favorite is the plain croissant and buckwheat.
We’ve had many meals in Zula and this is hands down the best hummus, Israeli salad, tahini, salads and kebabs you can get outside of the Middle East. If you’re looking for fresh, delicious, healthy Israeli food - with a lot of vegan options, gluten free options, and seafood - go there!
And don’t forget dessert :)
Run don’t walk to this place. Flavaz is authentic home cooked Jamaican food with the best ingredients. Ran by the nicest young couple you’ll ever meet. Mid meal you will feel as if you were in their kitchen in their home. The portions are rediculous for what you pay. The ox tail and goat were phenomenal. The food is exceptional and it’s obvious by their genuine appreciation of life that passion is the main ingredient with all their food. The bonus part is that they are gluten and dairy free friendly. No doubt we will return.
