We brought family in from out-of-town as one had a gluten allergy. They were very pleased with the choices and the food. I wish I had told them how to cook my burger (they didn't ask), but it was still good.
As a healthy-foodie type who is also gluten sensitive, this place was a fabulous find! All organic with amazing natural choices, for both vegetarian and paleo, and obviously, cautious about food allergy prep! Staff was beyond friendly and food was delicious! We will def make this a go-to spot when in town!
What a find. Amazing gluten free pizza, speedy service, even when it was super busy, and a classic pizza parlor vibe, complete with the red checkered tablecloth. A must for those in search of perfect pizza in Monterrey.
Very nice meal, nice setting and great service tonight. I can't remember the name of our server, but she was very helpful and nice, especially when going through the Gluten Free options for me. Slight error on our part regarding the tip, but our server was very understanding and manged to her the tip she deserved.
Would be very happy to go back.
This restaurant came recommended. They did lie. The food was fantastic. The service was superb. We were allowed to choose our table. We were accommodated our gluten free order and vegetarian order.
Gluten free pasta is really bad. Texture is seriously the worst I’ve ever tried. If you aren't willing to use good pasta and make an effort to cook it properly - just take it off the menu.
Great burger joint with some perfectly seared hamburgers, and a really nice staff and atmosphere. Excellent Gluten Free bun also, top notch all around.
The all you can section’s food selections was so delicious, the waiters so helpful and so friendly. My wife on a speciel diet no milk, and gluten free stuff, so they served extra sides for her, without extra cost!!
What a gluten free find. The waitress/cook/?owner knows gluten free and we had a delicious meal. I had their homemade smoked turkey lentil soup. My boyfriend had their smoked Tri-tip with grilled veggies and finished with bananas foster. So delicious that I ate to much. Love the unique funky atmosphere of 60’s albums on the wall. I would love to attend when they have live music but alas we are only here for a couple of days. However will return tomorrow for some of the other gluten free items on their menu like borscht.
I like fish there and different sauces. There is no gluten free bread and gluten free cake. You have to wait in line to get seated. It is a popular place)
I used to really love this place. I have celiac disease, and almost all of their items are gluten free. They’ve always been pretty willing to accommodate me, and I considered this one of my staple spots. Unfortunately, after many times eating there successfully, I was glutened and got super sick. When I tried to discuss this with them, they showed very little compassion and basically hung up on me. So disappointing.
It is always a pleasure to find a restaurant with a gluten-free menu, especially one that contains a nice variety of choices. I enjoyed my Monterey Scampi and shared a creme brule with my husband. I've already recommended this place to my gf family members. If you want to experiment with another dish, I love to find gf fish & chips on a future menu! Thank you for a lovely meal and beautiful views.
Great place for a friends/family sit down dinner! The people working there are really nice. Lots of Gluten Free food well marked on the menu. Dog Friendly too!
Great portions and tasty bowls! 🍲 We grabbed lunch to go on the way out of town and gobbled it up! Recommend the California Bowl or the Ahi Da’Kahine Bowl! Perfect for my gluten free, dairy free friends!
We always enjoy our meals at MidiCi! Their meatball appetizer is super delish. They make some of the BEST gluten free pizza dough we’ve had and probably the best on the peninsula. I get the regular Neapolitan with the bbq chicken & mushroom truffle prosciutto and it’s perfect. The pizza size is nice too, good for sharing with two people or one hungry person (my hubby lol) the staff are very friendly and attentive. I want to come back for the tiramisu night next…
Every time I have eaten here it has been a great experience. The stuff is wonderful and friendly. Didn't have to long for anything. They care for you. The food is so good. I specially loved their shepherd's Pie , curry fries and Sticky Toffee Pudding. They also have a excellent gluten free menu.
I have celiac and not only was this the BEST gluten free pizza I've ever had, but one of the best pizzas of all time!
My husband is a man of few words and said the Al Pollo and blue cheese side salad was very good too.
We sat outside with our pups and it was simply perfect!
A little piece of Japan in Monterey Bay. This shop has a ton of authentic Japanese products and food. They have great flavor and vegan and gluten free options. The service was really good and everyone was really nice and patient in explaining the menu. I would definently come here again.
Reasonably priced option with ample parking in this otherwise expensive tourist town. Thank you to Danitza, our very friendly and attentive server, when we visited for dinner earlier this month. She kindly helped us with the gluten-free options (and drink specials). Yes, the food was very good and generous portions, but we most appreciated her personable service. Not far from the Monterey Bay Aquarium (hence the albatross picture).
All the times have been here but food tastes really fresh. I like I can make my meal gluten free and low carbs. I like they're different sauces. They have a few different choices, salad choices, and my all-time favorite spanakopita. Always a good meal when I come here
The food here was fantastic but what really makes the experience is the staff, who were friendly, accommodating and absolutely delightful. As a coeliac vegetarian, they were very accommodating and were prepared to alter the dish I wanted to make it both! This shows they cook everything fresh and the chefs know their stuff. Would definitely recommend, just a bit on the pricey side ($30-50 for a main)
If you are gluten free, I would not eat here despite the gf options. I ordered the gf pasta aglio e olio and my friend ordered the same dish regular (non-gf). My dish came out with about 1/3 to 1/2 the amount of food as hers. When we asked the waiter, he said that the chef does it all by weight and there was no mistake. For $30, it was an absolutely unacceptable amount of food. Even the server acknowledged it was a very small portion but there was nothing he or anyone could do other than for me to order more food at full cost. I make gf pasta at home, and it couldn’t have been more than a third of a box of pasta at most. They don’t upcharge for their gf pasta, but I would much rather a $5 or some upcharge and get a normal amount of food than be told I have to order another $30 dish to get a comparable amount of food as non-gluten free diners.
The atmosphere was good, but personally I found the food slightly lacking. I got a cup of lobster corn chowder that I thought was just ok. And a Caesar salad that was very good. Not to many gluten free options on the menu...
WARNING allergies dietary requirements are not taken seriously, they served us nuts despite repeatedly telling them about nut allergy + gluten to guests with celiac. (!!!) Menu doesn't even accurately list ingredients, multiple waiters and kitchen staff got it wrong and I didn't realize until I had already started eating. Date night ended in allergic reaction and having to take out the epipen.
Excellent! Chocolate chip cookies are perfect. We had a pepperoni pizza and a gluten free pizza. Both were very good. So many topping options. Definitely recommend!
Premise 1. This is my first ever positive restaurant review. I do not have time to write reviews and only write one when I had a bad experience and want to warn fellow travelers. I loved this place so much that took extensive notes on the various dishes.
Premise 2. I have dined in many Michelin star(s) restaurants, in France, UK, Belgium, Italy, USA. I am Italian and lived in France and Belgium many years. I am not a food critic, but know good food and know fake. I still remember home made pasta and sauces my mother would make.
The above premised: this was one of the best ever dining experiences in many years. Food was perfectly cooked, the right combination of flavors and textures. Not too much salt and not overly thickened sauces. Just right. Perfect pasta, al dente - in the real sense of the word. The “LaPera” (Pear Salad) had just the right amount of sweet and fresh, with the candied pecans complementing the sweetness of the pears in an indulgence of fresh flavors. The Fettuccine al Pescatore (my choice), were perfect, the fresh fish not overly cooked - a difficult thing to do as cooks tend now to have the sauce with the fish prepared beforehand and when they “finish” it with the pasta it ends overcooking the fish. Hence you typically have more calamari which, because of its natural consistency, do not present this challenge. Not here, perfect mix of seafood and fresh fish. Delightful. The Tagliatelle alla Boscaiola (my son’s choice) were so good, fresh mushrooms and rich in flavor. What topped it all were the “Fiocchi al Gorgonzola” (my daughter’s choice) “out of this world” - the gorgonzola sauce (using I believe TOTL gorgonzola - otherwise it is typically overly salty) was en experience even just by itself. We later learned that the fiocchi were made by a local artisan in California. I did not know Maurizio, the owner, but got to know him through the evening, delightful and down to heart, and a real artist at heart. To my asking, he explained that he takes particular pride in choosing only first rate ingredients - I can only say that it shows in all of his creations. He was able to adapt for my wife, who has a gluten allergy, the dish she chose. Even her GF pasta (I know it is TOTL and the most expensive around - cannot say the brand to avoid advertising) was just perfect. In short: if I lived in Monterrey, this would be my go-to locanda - for a fancy dinner, to bring my friends, or just to remind me of perfectly made pasta!
Bravissimo Maurizio and Team - come to open an Osteria on the East Coast!
We had a great lunch here! I’m gluten free so I was excited to see how many options there were for me. I got the dolmades and they were amazing. My boyfriend got the gyro and he enjoyed his meal as well.
Exceptional food. Fish was super fresh. Sashimi was some of the best I have ever had. Highly recommend the dragon ball Z. Staff are very knowledgeable about gluten free. Very friendly and quick service.
Loved this place with indoor and outdoor seating. Very good Italian food. Linguini and prawns, carbonara, nice. Gteat clam chowder. They have gluten-free penne. Nice portions and prices.
This place is amazing!!!! Right off of the bay and the food was cooked with love and style! We loved our experience at this restaurant and will be back as soon as possible. They also have GLUTEN-FREE options. 😊
Delicious, simple restaurant! The food is reasonably priced for the quality & quantity. They have vegan and vegetarian options. If you're carb conscious or don't want gluten they have a lettuce wrap option.
The onion rings are perfect, the batter stays on and doesn't fall apart.
