Pepper’s had the best lobster roll I had in Maine! Also, my friend has a gluten allergy and she had the gluten free lobster roll here twice with no contamination problems. Highly recommend!
I ordered a gluten free pizza and an order of fries take out. I have a gluten intolerance. When I went in to pick it up I asked if it was gluten free. 1 man said yes, the other said no. They offered to re make it for me. I went back to my car and waited. I went back in to get it and left. The fries were the same ones they cooked the first time and were cold and mushy. The pizza was fine but not worth the money spent or the trouble. I was also the only one in the restaurant at the time. My order for a small gluten free pizza was $26.99 and the ice cold fries $9.99 I also tipped them a couple bucks and there was a support local fee. Totaling $43.95. I contacted them to say something and was offered $5 back. That’s insulting. It’s hard enough eating gluten free with the inconvenience and the prices but then add in that they just didn’t care. I’ll never go back.
Brix + Brine in Ogunquit, Maine, has become a must-visit for us each time we're in town. Though the menu doesn't specifically mark gluten-free options, we've found their offerings to be extensive and accommodating, making it a haven for gluten-sensitive diners. The gluten-free Fried Haddock Sandwich is perfectly crispy with tender fish, while the Maine Lobster Roll, accompanied by golden fries, is a true taste of the coast. For something indulgent, the gluten-free Buttermilk Fried Chicken is a standout. Whether you're stopping in for lunch or dinner, the sea breeze adds a refreshing touch to the experience. It’s a busy spot, so plan ahead and arrive early to snag a table!
We visited the weekend before closing. Out waitress was fabulous and suggested the gluten free seafood scampi which was amazing. We will be back when they open for the season in 2023.
I’ve visited and lived around the Ogunquit area for a long time, but I had never tried Ogunquit House of Pizza until tonight! I’ve recently had to start eating gluten free and I was delighted to see they offer gluten free pizza crust and sub wraps! I ordered a pizza with the gluten free crust and WOW! It was the best gluten free pizza I’ve ever had. It appeared that it was also cooked in its own disposable baking pan so even if ovens were shared, the pizza itself didn’t touch other pizza pans. I appreciated the small details to have as little cross contamination as possible. They also do have a disclaimer for their gluten free items on their menu. Overall, staff was INCREDIBLY friendly, the environment was cute and beachy, and their food was absolutely amazing.
We drove down to Ogunquit for a little family day and allowed our daughter to pick out the restaurant. She chose Caffe Prego for the pizza, and let me tell you, we were not upset! I'm gluten free, our daughter is vegetarian. The wood fired pizza was delicious! Our brussel sprout appetizer was also incredible. The best part about the entire experience was the homemade gelato for dessert! Yumm!
View is great. Staff didn’t know about the menu. The menu wasn’t marked correctly for gluten free. Mentions on the site most things can be made gluten free - this isn’t true. Which made me concerned about the knowledge of the staff on gluten. Food was okay. Not bad, not stellar either.
Adorable cafe style shop right in the heart of Ogunquit! Fresh delish options, a switch up from the typical fried food in the area which I loved. You can tell the ingredients are fresh and homemade! The staff is attentive and answered all questions! They are gluten free friendly which is a huge plus and they keep all things separate which is a huge plus for a celiac. A clean, bright , and fresh atmosphere that has a very beachy vibe! Has quickly become a favorite spot! Would recommend over and over again!
The food was fantastic! I have had many gluten free pizzas over the years and this was by far the best I’ve had. Crispy, light and delicious. My daughter and I shared a mushroom and pepperoni pizza and my husband had the regular margherita pizza. He loved it.
What a great little find on our walk back to our hotel. The food was interesting with many gluten free options. Drinks and wine list were fantastic! Service was nice and casual.
First time to visit based on Google reviews of "Mexican" restaurants, you have to climb a set of stairs to enter the place but it has a nice outdoor area, which is where we sat. The waitress took our drink order, $2 off between 4-5 PM, and a queso appetizer. The app and drinks were excellent and the waitress took our main order, 3 shrimp and 3 lobster tacos with Gluten free wraps and 2 rice and bean bowls. I tried the rice and beans before the tacos, many restaurants ignore the sides but the treehouse nailed this simple side of seasoned black beans and rice. The lobster and shrimp tacos were loaded with meat and were excellent. Jill did a great job and had a great banter, we thoroughly enjoyed meeting her and eating at the treehouse. The desert, churro stuffed cheesecake, though not made in house, was delectable. We've been to two other places on our vacation but will definitely return here before heading home. Cheers!
Actually 4.5! Nice big restaurant, food was delicious, our waiter was nice, I flustered him a bit asking for the gluten free menu. He warmed up eventually. They have a huge fish tank and pretty gardens to look at while you dine.
Fun place to enjoy drinks! Not a lot of gluten free options but enough to enjoy dinner. We missed Sunday brunch but there were lots of delicious choices.
My wife has celiac and their website has many things listed as "GF," when actually, everything that is fried is cross-contaminated with breaded items, including the tortilla chips.
My husband and I loved our meal and drinks! It was a very warm night, rare in October , so we enjoyed our meal outside. Our waitress, Macy was very attentive to us. They have gluten free options as well. Will come back again to try their other tasty dishes
