The food here was excellent! All members of our party enjoyed ourselves. The food was fresh, hot, and packed full of flavor! I really enjoyed their commitment to serving those with gluten allergies.
The ciders were delicious and the fact that they showed the sugar content in each made it easy to pick what you desired most.
The atmosphere was beautiful. Since it was a nice day in June, the bat door was open and there was a nice breeze. The only complaint were the drivers revving their engines loudly while driving by
Service was also exceptional. Our server was attentive and regularly checked to ensure we had what we wanted or needed.
I absolutely recommend Brick River Cider!
We tried Favazza’s around 1:30 p.m., so it wasn’t busy at all. Overall, it was just okay—an expensive, average experience. We started with the toasted ravioli, which was actually pretty good, nice, and crispy with a flavorful filling. For entrées, we had the manicotti, the pasta con broccoli with pink sauce, and the gluten-free shrimp with pasta, plus a dinner salad. Everything tasted fine, but nothing really stood out as exceptional, especially for the price.
We sat on the patio, which was unfortunately extremely loud—even with few people around, the noise echoed and made conversation difficult. Service was a real disappointment. Our waitress was not attentive and kept disappearing for long stretches, leaving us waiting for refills and check-ins.
In the end, it felt like we paid more than the quality and experience justified.
Walking around after going to the Arch we searched the Find Me Gluten Free app since my wife has Celiac. This place had the most reviews and about 4.5 stars. So we decided to try it. First off the location is amazing, literally across the street from Bush Stadium. We went for lunch on a Sunday so it was to busy. The ambiance is real cool and inviting. The smell of smoked meats permeates everywhere. Our service was outstanding, our server was very caring and knowledgeable. The food was incredible! WOW! Even our 10 month old (at the time) loved everything. To bad they're local, we live in Atlanta. we'd love to go when we have a hankering for great food. But will definitely be back when we go visit my wife's family in St. Louis.

Really neat place. Waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable! My 8 year old who has gluten and dairy allergies was able to enjoy a “normal” sandwich and Root beer float! He was on cloud 9!!
What a delightful place! It's so vibey with graffiti'd walls (and ceilings), and an open, welcoming charm. It was relaxed and casual and delicious with HUGE portions without breaking the bank. Options for vegetarians, vegans, and a whole extra menu of gluten-free options (gotta request it). I live thousands of miles away, otherwise this would be my go-to place, especially for my out of town visitors! Loved it!
Phenomenal! Great food, great drinks, lovely indoor and outdoor seating - all in a cute little country store. Can’t wait to come back!
They were also very knowledgeable about my gluten-free restrictions, which I very much appreciated!
I’ve lived in the Grove for about two years, and I’m walking distance from Songbird. This means, most days I’m up at 7 am walking my dog past this place to smell all the smells. Great smells, and all for free. I like to think my dog thinks the same, bc he will usually stop and take extra sniffs by this place. Fantastic place to smell, first and foremost.
Okay, you want to know about the food. Yeah, I’ve gotten take-out from here, PLENTY a times. And it’s always going to be the same effing thing. THE COMBO SANDWICH! Please! Cmon! Insane to the fricken membrane! Never gets old! Perfect sandwich, and please know I come from the land of breakfast sandwiches (new jersey) and this place knows how to do a breakfast fricken sandwich. Freshly toasted sourdough, thick bacon, incredible cheese, and that EGG! 😫 With salt and honey on top, please. 🙏 Any time I get this to-go, it’s always warm, egg perfectly cooked, and so easy to order through their user-friendly website. Shoutout whoever does their web-design BTW - love it.
Okay, now you want to know the dine-in vibes. Such a cozy, lovely, well designed interior. It feels like you’re eating at your down-to-earth rich friend’s house who definitely is a NPR contributing member. So like, good vibes. Love the hand-painted designs all over, and the color scheme is not overwhelming, it aids in your eating experience. One bathroom - small, and does the job well. Great bathroom. Every detail of this place is so well thought out, to the cookbooks on the bar, to the little figurines on the sill of the mirror. Also, always love a purse hook! Which there are a plenty of!
The wait staff here - they are professionals. Like true, real deal professionals. My dad still references this phrase someone used - “How was your first chew?” I mean, how does one even think of such an original sentence? Thank you for inspiring thought and critical thinking.
I’ve sat at the bar and at a table. Both spots had excellent back support, and how enjoyable to place my feet wherever I so choose when we sit. Perhaps I swing them! Love the choice. And the open-kitchen concept for the drink making, love it. How fun to watch espressos and kombuchas and teas and delicious alcoholic morning beverages be made!!
Okay, now you want to know about the dine-in food experience. As much as I love that OG sandwich, I was recently diagnosed with a random autoimmune disease that restricts some foods I can eat, including gluten, so I was so happy to see they have a gluten-free option for their combo sandwich! I’m really not supposed to eat a lot of food, but the thing is the quality of ingredients is so incredible, I never have a poor reaction to their meat, dairy, or butter. I love they have partnerships with lots of local businesses, and you can really taste the quality.
Okay, so I know I raved about the combo sandwich, but their menu is so full of variety and they have the best seasonal specials. My dad loves the Kale Frittata, and I’ve also enjoyed their Sprouted Grain English Muffin, and their grits are so yum! Please try everything once, you won’t regret it. Also always get the combo. lol.
Now - the drinks. You might be saying, why is this tiny little Songbird latte $10? Yeah, I wonder that too. I think it’s because of inflation, and also because the quality of house-made syrup, cruelty-free coffee, and delicious milk varieties are just worth it. But hey, don’t want to spend that much? Get one of their insanely delicious teas, matchas, or juices. But don’t sleep on that kombucha. I won’t lie, it’s a bit of a small amount for the price point, but again, you get what you pay for here. My boyfriend tried their Coffee with a Kick as well, and he got a SUBSTANTIAL amount of liquor in that jawn 🤣. Very pleased.
I know it’s a long review, but I must address one final thing. All of you weirdos are always complaining about the wait, and being “pushed out.” Go work in a restaurant once in your life. Please. Learn patience. It’s worth the wait.
Great service, good for large groups. Our group of 10 sat outside on the back patio and it was very comfortable.
The food was full of unique flavors. They have lots of gluten-free and vegetarian options. The sweet potato fajitas were perfectly cooked. Equal parts sweet and spicy.
Jennifer was my server. She was super sweet. She was also crushing it at serving the whole place. She reassured me that I everything I ordered was and could be made GF and even put in gluten allergy for me (I have celiac) so I felt very comfortable knowing that she knew what she was talking about. And the tacos were delicious. I will be back
Terrible service for Tuesday at 9am. The server did not know what celiac was so I only ordered eggs over medium and a fruit salad. They offer GF crepes, and have lots of GF options otherwise, but not safe for celiacs .
Great spot for lunch. There are also several other options around. I got lunch here and dessert from somewhere else. Love that their entire menu is gluten-free.
We went for lunch/brunch and received excellent service and really great food. The breakfast burrito was superb! The gluten free Nutella menu item was enjoyed but the serving size was tiny. The fig crepe was generous and tasty. The server was fantastic! We had a table in the back area and that was nice. The huge long shared table space was pretty much occupied and would not have worked for conversations.
I forgot to get pics but this place is wonderful. The staff, especially out waitress Dana, was very friendly and attentive. The service was fast and the orders were spot on. The place is fairly large and they were quite busy for lunch but the wait was minimal and food came quite quickly. Prices were fair and the portions were large. The quality was excellent. Breakfast served all day. Lots of gluten free menu options, including pancakes. Large drink menu with a variety of mimosa's featured. Highly recommended!
One of the best brunches of all time. They were so kind to me and made me a gluten free pancake and the rest of the food was incredible. Everyone in our group had a great experience.
Their vegan gluten free pizza with the cashew cheese is incredible - and that is a touch feat because you are working without pretty much all the main ingredients in pizza!
Went for dinner and had a wonderful gluten free polenta with Japanese mushrooms which was on the specials of the day. It's nice when a restaurant has an espresso machine, but one thing that could be better is offering decaf espresso.
WOW! As a gluten-free free person with celiacs, it’s hard to find a delicious dinner out that’s not bland or just a salad with chicken or protein added. I’ve tried several restaurants as I like to eat out sometimes and feel normal.
I tried the “Assorted Wild Mushrooms & Pecorino Polenta” and added steak. OMG! I was transferred to another planet! I almost cried it was so good! I’m pretty sure it was the best meal I’ve had in the last 10 years after finding out I had to eat #gf. I cannot wait to eat it again and think of it every day as I’m drinking my morning coffee.
Im pretty sure I would feel the same way eating it even if I wasn’t GF and didn’t know it was GF. Now that’s a huge deal! Man, was it good! Talk about amazing comfort delicious food!
I have been eating on The Hill since I was a kid. I was diagnosed with Celiac disease in my 20's. Thankfully, I am still able to grab a bite at Rigazzi's! They offer a GF pizza crust, as well as garlic bread. The food has always been delish! I have gotten contaminated a handful of times while eating there, but unfortunately I am taking that risk knowing that they do NOT have a dedicated GF cooking area. My husband ans my BIL love the fishbowls!!
We love going here! The building is so beautiful with the wood and stain glass everywhere. Gorgeous spot for pictures. The have so much seating that it’s always easy to get a table. The food is consistently good. The staff is always on point. We’ve never had a bad server or bar tender. Even their gluten free options are yummy!
I would recommend this place to anybody who needs to be gluten free as they have a completely dedicated gluten-free kitchen. If you want authentic, this place has it and it is really good with lots of different choices. The bathrooms are large and accessible, the bar has a beautiful atmosphere and plenty of seating. They have plenty of seating, staff are very attentive. I never ran out of water, or ice for my other drinks, they are also very knowledgeable about their menu and if you tell them what your specific diet is, what might be the most go-to option or which ones to avoid. I have not sat down in a restaurant and had that great of service in a long time and so it was refreshing. They have plenty of outdoor seating as well if it's a nice day, If you go to St. Louis, this is a must-go-to spot.
Well treated excellent server... we had a large party, and everything was great... even gluten free options for some of us. I had 2 Tapas. Fish and fruit cheese combo, forgot to take pictures. ..
Our family of five all agree that we have never been disappointed and we all love Sen. The food, drinks and service are always excellent but the absolute best part is that I can eat there gluten free and be confident that I won't get sick.
It's a great place to take friends and family and enjoy a few drinks, good food, and plenty of board games.
They have lots of vegan and gluten free dishes too.
It can get noisy so if you are easily affected by that in the long term, wearing something like loops will help.
Parking is kinda hit or miss, they are still attempting to get a permit for the lot across the street. For now parking is on surface streets.
Over 3 days in St Louis, I ate at:
* Salt + Smoke (Delmar Blvd)
* Pappy’s Smokehouse
* Sugarfire Smokehouse
Pappy’s had the best sausage, and the pickles were really good. It felt a little cheap that the pickles cost money. The brisket was very finely shaved - almost a roast beef. The ribs were really good, my favorite of the 2 places I had them. I liked their sauce, but the take out container was cheap and hard to re-seal.
Good gluten free gf options.
We tried this place due to its reputation for gluten free options. Hubby got the King roast beef sandwich and he got enough roast beef for 3 sandwiches. He LOVED their gluten free bun. They also have a dedicated fryer for French fries. I had the gluten free chicken strips that tasted fine but the portion was skimpy. I think others with larger appetites might leave hungry. The salad on the other hand was fresh and huge. I could only eat half. This was the first time at a Lion's Choice and 2 counter people were a bit rude when I didn't know I was supposed to take my salad out of the cooler and for another incident. Also, none of the sauces or dressings are listed in the nutrition guide. For a business that does such a great job addressing gluten issues, I was surprised they are ignoring possible allergy issues in this part of their menu. We will probably eat her again but we won't my rushing back.
So, the woman at the front (today only? Occasionally? Always?) was certainly a deterrent for those unsure of our visit to begin with. If not for some in our larger-than-expected party, I would have walked out (which I did but was coaxed back in) upon her confrontational approach to seating. Perhaps her harsher-than-necessary approach is needed in the environment; I'll likely never know as there were less-than- interesting food options for the gluten-free guest group of which I am a part, and everything seemed MUCH pricier than necessary for lunch prices/sizes. The server was good despite not noticing we needed drinks refilled, BUT he was friendly, outgoing, and tried really hard, having been seated abundantly and quickly (slammed). He handled the separate checks well, and he handled our personalities well. Food seemed to take an egregiously long time, and then sadly, no time was taken to circle around and ask whether we needed anything OR if everything was as desired/expected. Again, perhaps due to busy-ness or business demands, but, one should likely be forewarned that you will likely have to wave someone down if you have needs once the appetizer and then the food arrives. Sadly, not a fantastic experience, but even if it had been, due to the prices and the lack of g/f options that most everywhere offers (booooring), I'd likely not return and would leave the place to those who throng there as it always seems hugely busy every time I drive past. Luckily, my food tasted good, and I had no problems other than a bit of boredom in the waiting for it. Not too bad in this day/age some would say, but when I go out, since I rarely do it due to allergies, I guess I expect more to rave about.
Had a great lunch at Felix’s Pizza Pub. This restaurant is a good stop for some quality pizza, wings (wings not pictured), and loaded cheese fries!
It’s not often I would tell someone a restaurant has good Gluten Free pizza. With that said, I do recommend the Gluten Free pizza for those who have allergies.
Love this place. I eat here a couple times a month. Most of their main dishes are gluten free!
Food is always flavorful and well made.
Buffet is awesome and for a very fair price.
And the people who own / work there are so friendly and really make you feel taken care of!
I love the sagaar paneer, the chicken tikka masala, papadum, and garlic naan.
The parking lot and traffic flow at this location is hectic. So definitely be prepared to be patient and on the lookout for distracted drivers. This said, the food is okay, but the service was amazing!! They do offer a gluten-free bun which is nice, but it definitely isn't the best I've had - it is prepackaged so not a slight to this location - it's the same at all Culver's (being just okay). The fries were surprisingly good, which surprised me as I'm not a crinkle-cut fan. Overall it's better than expected, especially after dealing with the chaos in the parking lot.
I had heard nothing but great things. I decided to come as they had gluten free options and it’s rare to find a place with a GF hot dog bun.
The gentleman who took our order was very nice and the food came out efficiently. The taste of the food (2 dogs and a brat, two fries) were great, my nieces enjoyed theirs a lot. Mine tasted great, although the GF option isn’t really a hot dog bun…it was more like a sub sandwich bun. Within an hour of leaving this place I was SO SICK. Nausea and severe stomach pains - which is what happens if I am accidentally exposed to a fair amount of gluten. While I understand this is not a dedicated gluten free restaurant, I have eaten at many other places that are not either. I suspect Steve’s Hot Dog cross contamination practices are very lax & this is disappointing. If you’re going to offer GF items, you need to be knowledgeable and attempt to at least not make people sick!
Before we left, we waited to use the rest room (one was out of order). An employee came out and he had the worst smelling B.O. I have ever experienced. We were gagging in the bathroom. It sort of grosses you out when you know someone is working in the kitchen and they have a body odor issue like that.
Some of the best tacos I’ve ever had! Sue, the owner, chatted with us and was so kind! One of our friends has vegan AND gluten free needs and they were able to accommodate her with no issue!
I have only had positive experiences here, the manager is aware of Celiac and cooks all the gluten free pasta in fresh water and clean pots. I have only ordered pasta (with my favorite being the Penne Ala Vodka) and have never been sick. I always tell my waiter I have a gluten allergy and for them to tell the chef!
The food and drinks were delicious. The buffalo chicken salad was amazing and gluten free! I've been here a few times and the food
never disappoints! On top of it, our awesome server, Ashley, made the night even better. She made great suggestions and kept us laughing throughout our 3 hour dinner. Can't wait to go back!
The waitress was knowledgeable about gluten free options and the menu is properly labeled. They also can make some tacos gluten free if you ask. My daughter got the big ass nacho which was really fun bc it literally is one big nacho pizza. I love the governors tacos and the portobello taco. Everything I've ever eaten here, even with gluten, is delightful.
