The food here was excellent! All members of our party enjoyed ourselves. The food was fresh, hot, and packed full of flavor! I really enjoyed their commitment to serving those with gluten allergies.
The ciders were delicious and the fact that they showed the sugar content in each made it easy to pick what you desired most.
The atmosphere was beautiful. Since it was a nice day in June, the bat door was open and there was a nice breeze. The only complaint were the drivers revving their engines loudly while driving by
Service was also exceptional. Our server was attentive and regularly checked to ensure we had what we wanted or needed.
I absolutely recommend Brick River Cider!
Walking around after going to the Arch we searched the Find Me Gluten Free app since my wife has Celiac. This place had the most reviews and about 4.5 stars. So we decided to try it. First off the location is amazing, literally across the street from Bush Stadium. We went for lunch on a Sunday so it was to busy. The ambiance is real cool and inviting. The smell of smoked meats permeates everywhere. Our service was outstanding, our server was very caring and knowledgeable. The food was incredible! WOW! Even our 10 month old (at the time) loved everything. To bad they're local, we live in Atlanta. we'd love to go when we have a hankering for great food. But will definitely be back when we go visit my wife's family in St. Louis.
Great service, good for large groups. Our group of 10 sat outside on the back patio and it was very comfortable.
The food was full of unique flavors. They have lots of gluten-free and vegetarian options. The sweet potato fajitas were perfectly cooked. Equal parts sweet and spicy.
Jennifer was my server. She was super sweet. She was also crushing it at serving the whole place. She reassured me that I everything I ordered was and could be made GF and even put in gluten allergy for me (I have celiac) so I felt very comfortable knowing that she knew what she was talking about. And the tacos were delicious. I will be back
I forgot to get pics but this place is wonderful. The staff, especially out waitress Dana, was very friendly and attentive. The service was fast and the orders were spot on. The place is fairly large and they were quite busy for lunch but the wait was minimal and food came quite quickly. Prices were fair and the portions were large. The quality was excellent. Breakfast served all day. Lots of gluten free menu options, including pancakes. Large drink menu with a variety of mimosa's featured. Highly recommended!
One of the best brunches of all time. They were so kind to me and made me a gluten free pancake and the rest of the food was incredible. Everyone in our group had a great experience.
WOW! As a gluten-free free person with celiacs, it’s hard to find a delicious dinner out that’s not bland or just a salad with chicken or protein added. I’ve tried several restaurants as I like to eat out sometimes and feel normal.
I tried the “Assorted Wild Mushrooms & Pecorino Polenta” and added steak. OMG! I was transferred to another planet! I almost cried it was so good! I’m pretty sure it was the best meal I’ve had in the last 10 years after finding out I had to eat #gf. I cannot wait to eat it again and think of it every day as I’m drinking my morning coffee.
Im pretty sure I would feel the same way eating it even if I wasn’t GF and didn’t know it was GF. Now that’s a huge deal! Man, was it good! Talk about amazing comfort delicious food!
I have been eating on The Hill since I was a kid. I was diagnosed with Celiac disease in my 20's. Thankfully, I am still able to grab a bite at Rigazzi's! They offer a GF pizza crust, as well as garlic bread. The food has always been delish! I have gotten contaminated a handful of times while eating there, but unfortunately I am taking that risk knowing that they do NOT have a dedicated GF cooking area. My husband ans my BIL love the fishbowls!!
Over 3 days in St Louis, I ate at:
* Salt + Smoke (Delmar Blvd)
* Pappy’s Smokehouse
* Sugarfire Smokehouse
Pappy’s had the best sausage, and the pickles were really good. It felt a little cheap that the pickles cost money. The brisket was very finely shaved - almost a roast beef. The ribs were really good, my favorite of the 2 places I had them. I liked their sauce, but the take out container was cheap and hard to re-seal.
Good gluten free gf options.
So, the woman at the front (today only? Occasionally? Always?) was certainly a deterrent for those unsure of our visit to begin with. If not for some in our larger-than-expected party, I would have walked out (which I did but was coaxed back in) upon her confrontational approach to seating. Perhaps her harsher-than-necessary approach is needed in the environment; I'll likely never know as there were less-than- interesting food options for the gluten-free guest group of which I am a part, and everything seemed MUCH pricier than necessary for lunch prices/sizes. The server was good despite not noticing we needed drinks refilled, BUT he was friendly, outgoing, and tried really hard, having been seated abundantly and quickly (slammed). He handled the separate checks well, and he handled our personalities well. Food seemed to take an egregiously long time, and then sadly, no time was taken to circle around and ask whether we needed anything OR if everything was as desired/expected. Again, perhaps due to busy-ness or business demands, but, one should likely be forewarned that you will likely have to wave someone down if you have needs once the appetizer and then the food arrives. Sadly, not a fantastic experience, but even if it had been, due to the prices and the lack of g/f options that most everywhere offers (booooring), I'd likely not return and would leave the place to those who throng there as it always seems hugely busy every time I drive past. Luckily, my food tasted good, and I had no problems other than a bit of boredom in the waiting for it. Not too bad in this day/age some would say, but when I go out, since I rarely do it due to allergies, I guess I expect more to rave about.
The parking lot and traffic flow at this location is hectic. So definitely be prepared to be patient and on the lookout for distracted drivers. This said, the food is okay, but the service was amazing!! They do offer a gluten-free bun which is nice, but it definitely isn't the best I've had - it is prepackaged so not a slight to this location - it's the same at all Culver's (being just okay). The fries were surprisingly good, which surprised me as I'm not a crinkle-cut fan. Overall it's better than expected, especially after dealing with the chaos in the parking lot.

Always friendly staff, cool patrons, excellent food and drinks (Grace made us some lovely Earl martinis last night), and the best vibe in town! Plus, they always have good music playing. Plenty of gluten free options and never any cross contamination. My favorite dishes are the fish tacos and beet salad :)
I had heard nothing but great things. I decided to come as they had gluten free options and it’s rare to find a place with a GF hot dog bun.
The gentleman who took our order was very nice and the food came out efficiently. The taste of the food (2 dogs and a brat, two fries) were great, my nieces enjoyed theirs a lot. Mine tasted great, although the GF option isn’t really a hot dog bun…it was more like a sub sandwich bun. Within an hour of leaving this place I was SO SICK. Nausea and severe stomach pains - which is what happens if I am accidentally exposed to a fair amount of gluten. While I understand this is not a dedicated gluten free restaurant, I have eaten at many other places that are not either. I suspect Steve’s Hot Dog cross contamination practices are very lax & this is disappointing. If you’re going to offer GF items, you need to be knowledgeable and attempt to at least not make people sick!
Before we left, we waited to use the rest room (one was out of order). An employee came out and he had the worst smelling B.O. I have ever experienced. We were gagging in the bathroom. It sort of grosses you out when you know someone is working in the kitchen and they have a body odor issue like that.
The food and drinks were delicious. The buffalo chicken salad was amazing and gluten free! I've been here a few times and the food
never disappoints! On top of it, our awesome server, Ashley, made the night even better. She made great suggestions and kept us laughing throughout our 3 hour dinner. Can't wait to go back!
Took 2 hours 10 minutes, from start to finish, with only a couple of other parties in the place. One of the people in our party ordered off the gluten free menu, only to be told the sauce wasn't gluten free when it was served. They ordered something else and after a 20 minute wait for their salad, we canceled it because everyone else had finished eating. Took 20 more minutes to get bill after last person finished eating. Food was good, but service was poor.
My daughter and I arrived during lunch time on a Friday and as expected the store was busy. Staffing was adequate and we placed our orders quickly. We only had 1 person ahead of us in the wait line. Food arrived at our table quickly and completely correct. Love that they offer gluten free buns so my daughter can eat there.
Great Service, friendly people and AHMAZING brunch , creative seasonal brunch drinks, gluten free options with a side of historical side quest.. 5 out of 5… Highly recommend stopping here!🥰👏👏👏
Food was great but our friend who was with us had a gluten allergy. We called a few days prior to our reservation and were assured they would fry the food separately. When we arrived we again confirmed with our waiter who told us no, there was a possibility of cross contamination and they could not guarantee gluten free.
Food was exactly what I want from a diner! Served suggested I try a quinoa pancake in lieu of toast to avoid gluten and it was good. Scrambled eggs with cheese were buttery. Hashbrowns and bacon were nice. The restaurant was packed but there were lounge chairs to sit in while we waited for an outside table. Saw some very cute dogs on the patio too!
I ordered The Experience on gluten free bread and it was fantastic! The bread was from Udi's and was warm and soft! The staff was knowledgeable about gluten free options. Bonus points to Planet Sub for having the customizable Coke machine! I would highly recommend visiting this restaurant.
Very affordable local place with huge portions.
I got a half pasta and salad and couldn't imagine how much food would come in a regular size.
Lots of outdoor seating, both in a covered area or uncovered area.
Dog friendly (outdoors).
Gluten free options!
Adam's coffee cocktail is AMAZING (even in the heat of summer), all the (gluten free) food is delicious, and the atmosphere is so fun and quirky. If you love brunch, this is the spot for you!
Have been coming here for years and am so happy it continues to thrive. Most recent visit was before a movie, ( just walk up stairs!) and CC gets five stars. Our hostess was able to reserve a table for 6 which was nice as timing important to make a movie. Our gentleman server offered up the same happy hour specials available in the bar which prompted me to have a margarita and some amazing, very fresh and flavorful guacamole. Their chips are unique and even have some variety including a sweet potato chip and special chips for my pal with celiac. I had a bowl of the chicken chowder which was off the charts amazing. Pals had a variety of other tantalizing offerings and we all left full and happy. Separate checks no big deal and every one gets an after dinner chocolate wrapped in a tortilla. Well done Canyon Cafe team!
Russell's is one of the perfect spots if you wish to celebrate a romantic occasion. They have the right kind of music, dim lights, and quick service. We were here for pickup else I'd definitely have had stayed back to enjoy one or two of their delicious sounding entrees.
We picked the original cheesecake with raspberry topping. It was dense, flavorful, but felt kinda heavy on the stomach. I expected the cream cheese to simply melt in my mouth. Nonetheless, the cake slice was moist, fresh, and big enough for two people to split.
We also got their chocolate torte and it was delish. It's gluten free given that there is no flour used so the flavors really shine. Deep in richness, slightly fruity in flavor, (blueberries and blackberry toppings too) a mouth-coating bitterness that's not overtly bitter and very pleasant in taste makes the cake decadent to say the least.
Last one was the gooey butter cake for the family and needless to say it was a hit. It was gourmet in every sense. Chewy and dense and so very smooth. It's crazy that it is a St Louis special and very few bakeries have achieved the taste that makes you go mmm. The base wasn't too crusty and made the cake extremely buttery which is what we'd expect from a MasterChef. Simply superb!
Will definitely be visiting to try out more of their main course dishes and other desserts.
My husband and 2 adult kids had over 2 hours before our flight so we stopped by this restaurant. What a wonderful staff and food! My daughter needs gluten free so she ordered quinoa pancakes. They were out of quinoa (it was late morning) so the cook came out to ask if we had time. He was making more so it was going to take awhile. My son had flatbread pizza. We ordered the club sandwich but did not want avocado. We waited awhile so when she served us, she realized the avocado was on there. She took it back and returned with all new food. The food was delicious even though we had so problems. The server took off 5.00 because we had to wait so long. They also gave us our food in to go containers in case we had to leave for our flight, which I guess they do often.
I recommend if ever at the airport with a little time to eat at Kingside diner!
We were there Sunday, August 25th
This place is great for bbq! Gluten free options as well. I highly recommend there salads as they are a complete meal and very filling. The atmophere is like a grandpas den: quaint and cozy. If you are a smoker they also have a smoking heated/covered outside area. There is also live music some nights!
Attended a rehearsal dinner here this evening, service was excellent, very attentive, the food was delicious. Even my wife who is gluten free had wonderful choices. Highly recommend!
1st time virgin coming to the Brew House. I was enamored. Enthralled. Perhaps even in awe. I was a gluten, embelishing in a tower of the necter of the gods, all the starters ... (the nachos with pulled pork gave me an epiphany, made me question all the things I have been missing out in life ... 128 Oz of Busch latte (aka necter of the gods, and a few shots of rumplemints cuz I was grumpy), place is very nice ... but I digress ...
David, our server! Bro, you are an absolute Rockstar! You made our entire party have an absolute amazing time and we are all very grateful for the service, kindness, attention, and absolute on point PERSONAL EXPERIENCE.
10 out if 5 stars. Would highly recommend. If you ain't here now, you are missing out. Absolutey a great time. Thank you.
I have Celiacs Disease and a long list of food allergies. The chef and staff worked with my diet to create a safe tasting menu for me. The food was phenomenal, and knowing I could safely enjoy it, finely paired with wine, mads it absolutely one of the best dining experiences I've ever had.
