Total ripoff trying to charge $6 for a different type of flour. This is unjustifiable. You don't prey on people with a 25% fee because they're born allergic to gluten. It tastes worse, never has a good texture and you want people to pay more for the suffering? No thanks.
Finding somewhere to eat as a coeliac, is always a very difficult task. WOW, not only did we feel truly welcomed by the fabulous manager, he also pulled up a seat and sat with us to ensure we would have a great dining experience. The coeliac meal was prepared with the utmost care and the food was wonderful. We will definitely be back!
I was walking past and the staff assured me they could do gluten and dairy-free. Then pointed out the suitable options on the menu. I had the Paella, they confirmed it would be safe for me and it was delicious.
Not celiac friendly. Their menu shows so many gluten free options which is why we choose to try it out but when I went to order I was informed only 2 dishes could be done properly gluten free (no pastas). Misleading. Further the dish I did get was one of the plainest tasting sauces I’ve ever had and cost way too much for plain tomato sauce with 2 basil leaves as the seasoning.
A beautiful little Italian restaurant tucked away down one of Melbourne’s side streets. From the get go, they were welcoming and attentive. They made recommendations, and accommodated a few modifications we needed to make (my partner is gluten free). Great atmosphere! They were clearly passionate about what they do, and that shows.
A + standard, and what the food service industry should be about! Thank you for a great night!
Loved my time at Spaghetti Tree. First time coming here with a friend and everything was perfect!!! They have good Gluten Free Options too. Be sure to try it!!
Hubby and I went here for our 10 year anniversary dinner in December and it was lovely. The venue was packed (definately recommend booking), the staff were lovely and the food was amazing. We had a gluten free pasta dish which was nice, but the gluten free Pizza was delish! The base was beautiful and soft...it felt like I was eating "normal" pizza! Very yummy. Highly recommend.
I LOVE THIS PLACE!! Do yourself a favour and get yourself a yummy meal! They have fantastic gluten free pasta safe for celiac and wonderful drinks! Clarisa looked after us well!!
Food and service were great. They have gluten free options available. Cocktails are yummy. Staff lovely. It was a little loud and hard to hear conversations with the music and big groups.

We were very disappointed with our recent experience at Osteria Renata. (Friday 6th June, 6:30pm)
Our group of four included two guests with dietary requirements—one with an egg allergy and another with gluten, garlic, and onion intolerances. While our waitress initially seemed helpful, she spoke very quickly, making it difficult for us to follow. When we asked follow-up questions, she became visibly frustrated and seemed unsure of the answers. When we requested she double-check with the kitchen, her response was, “I can’t keep going back because the chef is stressed and the restaurant is fully booked.” This was disheartening to hear, as we were simply trying to ensure the meals were safe and appropriate for us. Regardless of how busy the restaurant is, every table should receive adequate care and attention—especially when dietary restrictions are involved.
After further discussion among ourselves, we were able to clarify the egg allergy. However, the gluten, garlic, and onion dietary needs remained unresolved. When we asked the waitress for a recommendation between the market fish and the mushroom pasta, she rudely replied, “If you want fish, you have fish. If you want pasta, you have pasta.” There was no attempt to guide us or explain the preparation of either dish.
At that point, the bar manager stepped in and abruptly asked to take our drink order—seemingly to move the waitress along to other tables so he can manage the situation better. He was more pleasant and did make an effort to confirm whether the wines were free from egg or cross-contamination, which we appreciated. However, the overall service left a lot to be desired.
The food itself was also underwhelming—especially considering the high price point:
• Vodka Pasta: Watery, overly tomato-heavy, and lacked any chilli/spice.
• Bolognese: Pasta was undercooked and not quite al dente, though the sauce was decent.
• Mushroom Pasta: Very mild mushroom flavour and poorly seasoned.
• Frites: These were the highlight—crispy and well-executed.
• Wine Selection: Solid range and enjoyable.
Unfortunately, none of the main dishes impressed us, and the overall value just wasn’t there. We were really hoping for a more enjoyable experience, but we’ll be looking elsewhere in future.
Love me a good burger, and these ones were good! The chef cooked the patties to our liking (can't stand overcooked meat!) The gluten free buns were lovely and soft too 😋. Service was a solid 10 as was the food.
The staff were so helpful and lovely. The food absolutely beautiful, we totally enjoyed it all. The catering for gluten free options was wonderful the little bread roll so moist and delicious.

Bit odd for a family restaurant to not to have a kids menu, however the pizzas are amazing and the meatballs are out of this world. As for gluten free options, only pasta and one type, pene, which tastes like it came from Woolies.
Ordered Gluten free garlic bread and Pizza
Absolute garbage, if you have ever bitten into plaster board that’s what you will get
Garlic bread hard as nails, for Melbourne cuisine this is beyond disappointing.
What really impressed me was the staff. They were friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere was sophisticated and elegant. They offered delicious gluten-free bread and a good selection of gluten and lactose-free dishes. Overall, the food quality was excellent. Highly recommend!
Recently went here with some friends thinking that as I’m gluten and dairy free, I would struggle to find something to eat. To my surprise and delight, they have gluten free pasta and could easily accommodate dairy free! So nice to be able to get an italian meal with friends and the food was amazing and soo quick! Also the BYO is so handy and service was great
Def make a booking because it was packed!
Fantastic experience. The food and service was excellent. The pasta was the best I've had in a long time. Cocktails were good also. Couldn't fault our experience and will be back for sure. Hopefully next time the team will find a way to do the spicy pasta gluten free.

I’ve never had a bad night at Bar Bambi. I went for the first time in November and I’ve been back almost every weekend since! Food is great, music is 10/10, and the crowd is always super friendly. I’m also gluten free and they do such a good job of catering to my dietary restrictions:)

Consensus of this group of 11-outstanding. Service was done so smoothly with great humor and friendliness. We started with antipasto and moved on to main dish. The salad was great as well and we had with antipasto which was a good choice as the mixed group meant it was a bit of a challenge to make everyone happy (mostly vegan, Keto, and gluten free).
Barramundi was awesome and the risotto also was a popular favorite in our group. I had plain pasta with red sauce and they brought me peppers to make it spicy which was awesome as they were in olive oil so I used them and then olive oil over the pasta and it was delicious.
The other mention is the duck -which, for my friend, was perfectly fine with great flavor and a rich sauce.
The bread to start was amazing with the olive oil that felt like freshly made. Best olive oil I had ever had. I recommend this charming spot very highly!

Lovely staff, nice selection of authentic Italian classic dishes in a spacious environment.
Good selection of vegan and vegetarian options with gluten-free pasta and gnocchi available too.
Sbriga cafe is my go to when at the office. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The food is fresh and delicious and they are very accommodating to vegetarians and Gluten free. The chai- tea latte is one of the best I have ever had!

If I could go above 5 stars I would, especially for service! Last night my colleagues and I went to Sud whilst visiting Melbourne from Auckland. It came highly recommended and it did not disappoint!! The food was delicious, the cocktails were yum and the Italian wine recommendation from Vincenzo was perfect. We had a fabulous wholesome evening with great laughs, great food and GREAT service. Vincenzo has created an amazing experience at Sud and we were also looked after by Darren who was also fabulous. We had 3 dietary requirements, one gluten free and myself vegan. They happily catered for us and as Darren said, nobody misses out at Sud. Thank you very much!
Great service and atmosphere. There weren't many options for me (Coeliac and vegetarian), but I ordered a salad. It came with an ingredient I don't like and was not on the menu (green beans). They took it off our bill which I really appreciate. I'd come back for a drink, but not the food, though my meat eating friend liked his food. I'm sure the food is good if you're not Coeliac and vegetarian.

Great cozy Italian spot with considerate service. Definitely a place to take to celebrate any occasion, you’ve got to have a drink here!
You can tell the food was authentic and fresh, the seafood pasta is an absolute must and the Arancini balls! Don’t forget to try the fig leaf gelato, one of the best gelatos I’ve had. We dined and had a vegetarian and vegan + gluten free guest, though no gluten free and vegan option, the kitchen was able to whip up a beauitful dish for our guest. He didn’t have to miss out on bread, he received olives!! How considerate. We brought home their Rosso wine, you should too. Photos speak for themselves.
Parking wise, we parked at the spencer street outlet mall which is a 3 min walk.
