I love Squee and really want them to stay open and thrive. As someone who’s gluten-free, this place has been a go-to for me for almost a year. However, I’ve noticed that the vibe feels different depending on who’s around. My boyfriend and I are pretty traditionally presenting and have often felt like we don’t get the same warm service that other customers (particularly queer folks) seem to get. I initially thought maybe the employee was having a bad day and blew it off but we’ve easily been here nearly 40+ times and it’s clear that they have an attitude with us and aren’t as friendly or kind because we present as cis & straight.
I’m a strong ally and believe in inclusivity, and I just wish that everyone, no matter how they look, felt equally welcomed. I know that many queer people face this kind of treatment elsewhere, but the solution isn’t to treat others the same way—it’s about making sure everyone feels respected and valued. The donuts/icescream are amazing, and I’d love to see the experience be just as great for everyone.
If I’m reading this all wrong, then I sincerely hope the management and employees focus on customer service and kindness because it would be highly concerning if this was my business with how consistent their poor attitudes are each week. I’ll continue to be a customer because I’m gluten-free and have limited options, but again this review is because I love OMG Squee’s donuts/icecream and I want them to attract more business. From everyone.
We had lunch here yesterday. I had the grass fed burger with gluten free bun. Delicious!! We also ordered the yuca fries with dip sauce. The Micholada with a side car was refreshing. Very nice atmosphere. Great service. Plan to spend about 20-30 dollars with drinks per person.
Delicious! I had the potato cake Benedict and a Bloody Mary while my husband enjoyed fried chicken pancakes. Everything was great!
Adding to the review, we ordered deserts. Hazelnut brownie (gluten free/wheat free) and bread pudding for my husband. Yummm!
Best gluten-free pizza in town! Everything here is great. We especially love the track suit pizza, the handmade mozzarella sticks and the Caesar salad. Great mocktails, too.
My friend ordered a sandwich with gluten free bread (he has celiac) and the employee decided to substitute with regular bread without notifying him. To top it all off, she still charged him the upcharge for gluten free bread. Didn't even offer a refund. Not acceptable.
Lynny’s is legit.
It presents as a clever twist on one of America’s best known diners but what you get it has so much more heart. From the coffee to the biscuit (totally divine), a melon salad that will have you taking back all the hateful things you ever said about honey dew & the opportunity to put an egg on anything, there is a lot of care & creativity here. The menu has plenty of traditional options but items like the toaster pancakes, cartoon latte & the highly customizable grilled cheese speak to my inner child which is comforting & remind me to be playful as I head off into the day. Perhaps that feels a bit too philosophical for breakfast but trust me, Lynny’s is dishing out a whole sunny side up experience that is exactly what I want for breakfast.
For the gluten free & vegan crowd, they have options! That said - the biscuit was worth the gluten exposure. A++
