I can’t say enough good things, every experience I’ve had here has been great. I’m gluten free and visit family in Galveston a couple of times a year but just found this place. Everyone has been so helpful when I’ve had questions. I’ve tried the gluten free pop tart, gluten free cinnamon roll, gluten free key lime pie, and gluten free vegan meatball pocket and gf v curry pocket and it’s all been soooooo delicious. It’s all so flaky and moist and some of the best gf pastries I’ve ever had. Their matcha is fine, kind of bland and too sweet but their iced tea is tasty especially when paired with a nice sweet treat.
Cannot recommend this place enough and I’m so glad it exists!
My husband and I are from Houston and visit Galveston often, but this spot is officially going on our must-visit list every time we’re in town.
From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, cozy, and inviting. The restaurant was packed, but we were seated quickly by the sweetest staff member, Sherry, who made us feel genuinely welcome. Our server, Blanca, was an absolute gem—kind, attentive, and quick to bring me a full gluten-free menu the moment I mentioned my food allergies (gluten and dairy). I had called ahead to ask if I could bring my own dairy-free alternatives, and the staff was incredibly accommodating. And the best surprise? They have gluten-free bread! For anyone with celiac or dietary restrictions, you know how exciting that is.
The food was absolutely phenomenal. Every bite was flavorful and clearly made with care. On top of that, every staff member we interacted with was so friendly and quick to strike up a conversation. We never once felt like we were just another table to turn over—there was so much heart in the service and it truly made the experience stand out.
We left full, happy, and already looking forward to our next visit. Can’t recommend this place enough!
Mario’s Seawall has a great atmosphere and delicious food, but unfortunately, my experience as a celiac girlie wasn’t the best. While they do offer gluten-free options, I ended up getting glutened, which was really disappointing. The flavors were amazing, and I wish I could confidently return, but if you have celiac or a severe gluten intolerance, I’d recommend being extra cautious and double-checking with the staff.

I ordered the shrimp burger and it was fabulous. My sister who is celiac and allergic to fish was with me. She ordered a simple burger patty, but as they make sure the grill was clean. They must’ve done just that because she enjoyed every bite and had no flareups. Really enjoyed this restaurant and we’ll go back to try something new next time.
Took FOREVER. We got the wrong pizza & had to figure out ourselves whose it actually was. The pizza was so burnt & dry. I wouldn’t recommend to anyone. The gluten-free pizza was good but the other pizza took another 50 mins to come out so my family couldn’t eat together. My mom had to go ask about our pizza and then they finally brought it out.
Grab yourself a slice of Galveston Paradise at Papa’s Pizza!
My recent visit to Papa’s Pizza in Galveston was an absolute delight! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm, friendly smiles and a lively atmosphere that truly captures the spirit of this beautiful island. These folks know how to work hard and have a good time while they do it.
Of course, the pizza itself was the star of the show. We got the Gluten-Free Philly Cheese Steak Pizza.. The crust was perfectly crispy, the toppings were fresh and flavorful, and you could tell that high-quality ingredients are a priority. The Papa’s team made sure our order was correct and that we had all of the sauces and condiments we needed.
But what truly made this experience exceptional was the outstanding service. I want to give a special shoutout to three amazing staff members who went above and beyond:
Isabelle greeted me with such genuine enthusiasm and made me feel right at home. She helped me pay at the counter and was very kind and thorough. James gave me my pizza, and he had a few laughs about my order. The team thought that we had ordered a gluten-free Philly cheesesteak sandwich, which would be a pretty hilarious order at a pizza shop.Tony took our order over the phone and was exceptionally courteous. He made sure that our order went through even though we ordered really late. The combination of delicious pizza, a vibrant atmosphere, and exceptional service from Isabelle, James, and Tony makes Papa’s Pizza a must-visit in Galveston. I can’t wait to come back for another slice (or two!) of paradise!
Super cute atmosphere, a few allergies in the party and chef alberto came out to the table to help and made the BEST food-steak was so good and the redfish tacos were out of this world!!!!!!!!! I'm celiac and it was totally safe for gluten free :) also the cheddar grits were fab
Ohhh my shrimp taco haven!!! And they have a gluten free menue for this celiac girl. Thank you sooo much!! Omgoodness was amazing and sooo fresh.. 🤤🤤🤤🤤🥰🌊⛱️
Super friendly, cute hole in the wall place. If you love Greek food, this is the place! Adam was our server, he was extremely accommodating and attentive. He recommended mostly what we got 😅
This place is great for family’s! Calamari and crab cakes were yummy! Lamb chops were delicious, kids loved the pizzas, gyro platter and gyro pita was perfect👌🏼 platter had SO much food on it. The rice was a fav.
The meat lover pizza was perfectly made with gyro, mozzarella, feta, marinara, tomato, red onions 🤤
He talked us into the chocolate cake and OMGGGGGG 🤌🏼💋
Definitely check it out if your into little locally owned places! Gluten free options too!
Gaidos is a standard in Galveston and it's clear why! The staff were very knowledgeable and friendly. They assisted with any questions I had regarding gluten free items on the menu and were able to make great recommendations. Our appetizer and dessert were amazing, I'm still dreaming about the soup of the day made by the chef! I was a bit disappointed for my entree as the sides and the meat used the same seasoning so the dish lacked depth, but everything else was amazing. The gift shop inside is also very cute.
The food, service and prices were good. Our, server Micah was wonderful. Very caring and accommodating to all our meal needs. I'm Gluten free, my meal came gluten free.
Loved the nice visit we had with Micah.
Truly, he cares about who he serves. Thank you Micah!
Food was delicious! They offer gluten free pasta, buns and pizza crust. I have celiac and they made sure to take the extra precautions so the food was safe for me to eat. Great flavor. Crème brûlée was so so good! Our waitress was very friendly and sweet.
Chose to grab a cool snack while on vacation in Galveston. I have Celiac so I did a lot of research beforehand and let the employee know. I had a small Salted caramel sunday with chocolate sauce, chocolate chips , whipped cream and cherry. They were careful with my order and adding toppings to ensure no cross contamination.
Custard was very sweet and delicious! I could only eat about 3/4s because it was a bit heavy and too sweet after a while. I'd probably choose a vanilla custard next time with toppings to avoid the overly sweetness, but that's just a personal preference. It was great service and very good!
A cozy restaurant for cozy food! They had all gluten free options marked on their menu. I ordered the catfish tacos and they hit just the spot! I definitely recommend this place for a reasonably priced, tasty meal.
For being celiac they went above and beyond--from the server to the owner. Nathan our server knew the menu so well and directed me with the gluten free options that would be safe. Nathan made our experience amazing. The owner was also so friendly and welcoming. Since it was our wedding night the owner and Nathan made it very special for us and we couldn't have picked a better place to enjoy our evening. Hands down one of the best places I've ever been. I will definitely be coming back here!
Easy to book, initial service great. Asked about a gluten free bread option for a patty melt and it all started to fail from that point. Initial order ok, some alcohol, an appetiser for 2, and patty melts (one regular, one with gluten free bread). Patty melts never arrived after an hour and we asked and they re checked our initial order. Blamed the kitchen for being confused, but I think they forgot to put the orders through. They arrived 5 mins later. No swiss cheese, looking overdone. Taken away to sort and arrived later. Other cheese mix was used, non-gluten free patty melt meal had burnt patty and burnt bread and some odd cheese mix that had set like rubber. Complained again but past feeling hungry. Given them their due, we only paid for alcohol in the end. However, it was the worst meal I can recall in many years. Warning: make sure they fully understand what’s required for gluten free as you order. We won’t be visiting again…
I’ve now altered my review (overall star rating) based on a discussion I’ve since had with the Gen Mgr, and I believe it was a one off issue, and he has already used it as the basis for training and I thank him for offering credit and moreso for reaching out to me.
Angel did an incredible job of answering all of my gluten allergy questions. He ensured that I felt safe with my meal and the service was wonderful! We truly enjoyed our experience and will be going back! There is no gluten free menu but most items are already gluten free. The chips are not gluten free but that was fine by me!
Went here for valentines, hands down the BEST Italian food I have had in the states. Amazing atmosphere and experience. Must try their risotto and their signature Bellini! Lots of gluten friendly options too!
No dine in at this location. We had two with celiac disease, they said could not make anything even though listed. They sent us to another location so we went twenty more min to go to their original location and they only had cauliflower crust though it was advertised that they had that and gluten free. Please don’t advertise if you can’t offer the service.

Great for beach side casual food and drinks. Staff very attentive and helpful. Made my gluten-free lunch enjoyable and were careful about cross contamination.
Really delicious! Every family member was happy with their choice. The yogurt bowl with fruit and granola was particularly attractive and yummy. Pastry on my ham quiche was flaky and not tough as some can be. I only wish they had a couple gluten-free options, such as muffins, pancakes, etc. We sat on the patio on a comfortable spring morning, and we highly recommend this place.
We are proud and frequent Landry’s members. Waited an hour for our food! Couldn’t find our waiter. Got water but no bread! Service at our table was sooo slow! Other waiters were working hard. I had to ask one to find our waiter. My husband ordered white rice off of the gluten free menu. Came out crunchy, not fully cooked. Put fried onion rings on my grandson’s gluten free taco plate. No gf bread at any Landry’s except Saltgrass…Why????? So very disappointed!
Incredible service, top-notch fresh seafood & attentive staff. Eric seated our party of NINETEEN without a reservation or any available support runners and gave us the best service we've had on the island this weekend. Knowledgeable of Gluten Free options and was very easy to work with. Worth every penny, and better fish quality than other place for the price.
$7 will get you a huge breakfast burrito with your choice of filling, on homemade tortillas. This the only place I've ever eaten that will make a burrito on corn tortillas. Very helpful if you're #glutensensitive.
The service was friendly and helpful. I love supporting small businesses and it's even better when the food is great!
There is a non handicap dark black car that ALWAYS parks in the one handicap spot next to the ramp where you can't even access it. Nobody has done anything about it for months, so assuming it is a worker. Makes it near impossible to get my wheelchair to the Papa John's. It's literally the only complaint I have about this place.
***There gluten free pizza is the best one yet and super safe as long as you click the clean cut option.
Spike is an amazing owner. The tamarind margarita is the best margarita I have ever had.
He was also very accommodating to a gluten free diet. Will definitely be the spot to come when we come to Galveston.
Great meal! The food was pretty standard Mexican restaurant fare, but better than most. Shout out to our waiter, Francisco G, who was very attentive to my wife's special dietary needs( gluten allergy).
This is a great spot to cool off and have a great meal. Chef Eric is one of Galveston' best! The burgers are excellent, and they gladly accommodate with gluten free options. Pricey? Yup. Spend the money. You only live once.
I liked the atmosphere of being at someone's house, especially with the relaxed way of ordering and sitting yourself, but the food was just okay. There were not very many gluten free options.
Delicious pho and bun! Tasted fresh and great. The waiters were helpful and nice. The restaurant itself is fine, not super nice, but still great food which is the main point. They were helpful with gluten free with lots of questions and promptings. All in all, would definitely recommend as your pho spot in Galveston!
The food was delicious! They were moderately helpful about gluten free options. I had blackened salmon with a baked potato and green beans and it was great. The high chair was sticky and had the straps cut off, so our baby was continually trying to climb out of her chair. House wine was good and $1 off for happy hour.
