Drove from Kansas City, Mo just to check this place out. I am celiac and loved all the options I had. Got the cauliflower tiki masala and it was delicious. Server asked if I needed GF or celiac safe. Made me feel comfortable eating there. Will definitely be returning soon.
I have celiac and consistently love this place ! The serving staff is always kind and today, I believe the kitchen manager came out to tell me he ensured my food was prepared gluten free
Love this place ! Great service and amazing food
You walk in and if you are not sitting at the bar, you have to wait in line and order. Then when your order is ready they call you to the back to pick it up. There are yummy homemade sauces near the pick up station for you to grab as well as pickles. They have gluten free and vegan hamburger buns and various non-meat patty options which was great for me. I ordered the “fire” (impossible) burger on a salad. It was good, not spicy enough though! They were sadly out of tofu fries. Overall, solid food and friendly staff.
Open late for the travelers who get into hotels late. Gluten free options. Only $1 to substitute veggies for the sides. Personable staff given the late hour. The portions of meat are so big, I should have ordered one chicken plate and one with just veggies. I expect most people will be very happy about how much meat is piled into the take out box. We were there and back to our hotel in under 12 minutes without exaggerating because they served us so fast. It’s slow food served fast. We would stop again.
I absolutely love t. Loft and it is my go-to restaurant! Being gluten free and health conscious, this place is a god-send. I’ve tried multiple bowls, salads, teas and lattes and it is delicious every time. Staff is incredibly friendly and the restaurant is always clean :) I don’t mind waiting a while since they cook the warm meals fresh to order. Shana Cakes gluten free desserts bring me a lot of joy (especially the Valentine’s Day goodies); it’s hard to find such reliable dedicated gluten free space in Lawrence and this is hands down the best one!

I like Rudy's because their salads and gluten free crust are pretty good but every single time without fail they mess up a part of my order. I end up not getting everything I paid for and it's really frustrating.
Lovely shop hidden away serving a wide range of drinks. They have gluten free and regular bakery items. The place looks tiny on first look but entertaining it just keeps going with multiple side rooms. Giving a private quiet feeling.

Our family is so happy with this place. Two of us have celiac disease, which makes it difficult to find safe lunch stops while traveling. They were very knowledgeable about their gluten free options, they have a dedicated GF fryer, and the food was delicious and plentiful. And great prices, too! We'll be stopping here on our way back home for sure.
We've enjoyed everything we've ordered, including different curry, kha pow, and gluten-free sweet and sour. Great service and the staff is very knowledgeable about what's safe for those with Celiac.
Excellent choices and also gluten free options. Salad bar is my favorite and there is a lot of choices! I like the managers special the most. Half sandwich and soup and or one trip to the salad bar. Choose the salad bar it will not disappoint! Also love getting ice milk at the end of my meal!
Almost everything is, or can be made gluten-free. I had the Big Apple (grilled sandwich with ham, havarti, and apple). It really hit the spot. Pickle was great. The owner is very friendly and helpful.
I panicked ordered because their gluten free menu was very hard to read (had everything on the menu and then next to it said “yes or no”). There was a line behind me so I picked the first thing I saw that I recognized. Bad choice- the pad Thai ramen bowl was ok. The chicken was basically dry boiled chicken. My husband did enjoy his regular ramen bowl though! The restaurant wasn’t the cleanest and the bathrooms were definitely not clean. Wasn’t a bad experience just probably won’t be back.
Pickleman’s is my favorite sandwich place ever! You can’t ask for better toasted sandwiches, or an Italian chop salad. Ask for Giardiniera peppers on (almost) anything! The crew is usually efficient and friendly, and the managers are always that way. If you get a personal pizza, the 10” GF crust is actually the way to go even if you’re not looking for gluten free. It’s a better individual portion size, and it actually tastes better too.
Delightful Za and drinks. I enjoyed a gluten free pizza that was a so tasty. I also sampled the regular Detroit style pizza that was amazing and I’ll pay for it later but my gods it was possibly top three pizzas I’ve ever had the pleasure of masticating. We also enjoyed some delightful beers and sangria. All of it was a pure delight.
Not a true gluten free menu, owner put down the waitress who was absolutely knowledgeable and extremely friendly to compensate for his lack of proper information regarding allergy menu. His menu offers gluten free options but there is not dedicated side for grill or toaster. It should be properly changed to gluten friendly. This can truly harm true Celiacs. Owner was absolutely rude and shook his head at having my order sent back even adding comments to other customers about allergies.
The food is delicious. They can substitute bread with gluten-free bread or huge Romain lettuce leaves. They can do this for almost every meal; their menu is extensive. Though, they have to work on keeping their tables clean consistently.
The pastries are so unique I wish we could have tried them all. You have to give the za’atar bagel a try as well as the baklava cheesecake. If you have dietary restrictions (vegan or gluten free) the staff know all the ingredients and can point you in the right direction. I was told a few items were gluten free (ie an oatmeal cookie, and the financiers) but you’ve got to ask! The coffee was also the best so far in Lawrence after trying a few places on Mass St. Give this place a try, you won’t regret it!
My partner and I eat here multiple times a week. The waitstaff is wonderful and accommodating. The food is amazing ! I also have celiac and never even a single time have had an issue with their food being reliably gluten free
They have an extensive gluten free menu which is great. And the sauce they have for their wings is also very good.
But I am reasonably sure that they just don't season the ribs, at all.
The food is amazing and the staff so kind and helpful! I am gluten free and they cleaned off the area of cooking and used clean utensils! Very helpful!
Amazing atmosphere. The food was outstanding, I had the lasagne and my wife had Gluten Free rigatoni bolognese and both were amazing. Our server was Brooke, she was top notch!
Can’t say enough about how great this pizza was.
I Lawrence visiting my sons family, my other son is gluten free, the gluten free crust was amazing he said! Also ordered some wings and a few pizzas to feed this small army... the wings were great!!! Wings perfectly done, crispy, very good buffalo sauce!!
The pepperoni pizza was a big hit with both young and old!! Crust and sauce were very good. Just the right amount of pepperoni and cheese.
If we stay in this part of town again will definitely order from here next time!!!
This was the first time to dine here. The food and service was excellent. My daughter is gluten free and the gentleman behind the counter was very helpful. We will return to eat there again
My two year old daughter wanted to get hamburgers for dinner and I decided to give this place a try. My husband, daughter, and I all loved it!!! Sweet potato fries were amazing. I had a gluten free bun and it was great! Service was awesome. Will be coming back for sure.
Great place to eat, anytime of day. The menu has gluten-sensitive options and if gluten doesn't bother you the deserts are outstanding. Friendly staff, great servers! Join their e-club for great specials. We go there often.
Great service, I've never had an issue here. The management must treat their people well. The food is good! Definitely more tex-mex so take that into consideration when ordering. I got the fish burrito (I forget what it's called on the menu, sorry) and I asked for it as a burrito bowl. They are always willing to accommodate that, and I very much appreciate it! (aka gluten free friendly) Oh, and if you like spicy salsa, you can ask for that as part of the chips and salsa set up. It's good!
I gave 4 stars on the atmosphere only because the music was a little loud to be able to hold a conversation and it was hot/stuffy inside that day.
It is a Lawrence classic with awesome murals on the wall! So definitely check it out if you're from out of town.
I'd really only recommend it for the coke freestyle machine, the frosty, and the chicken nuggets. The burgers are fine if you get them, but unless they're on that pretzel bun they can taste fairly generic. There salads are a safe option if you're looking to grab fast food with a vegetarian or gluten sensitive friend.
We ordered through UberEats and our driver never brought our food. Called up this place and explained the situation. BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. Amazing pizza and THE PERFECT GLUTEN FREE CRUST 100/10 would recommend. This is a KU must have. (But always order via delivery and not through ubereats)
