I’ve only eaten here a few times but wanted to extend my thanks with a review. I have a lot of unfortunate stomach issues but one of my favorite meals is chicken Marsala, and at least from what I’ve tried in Harlem, Fumo’s is my favorite. They are very accommodating of intolerance and allergies, and do their best to make things work from the times I’ve ordered. Despite making it with my dietary restrictions, you can tell the chef is gifted in their work, it’s times like these I wish I could tell them directly, so I hope they see this and do!! The dish was still very flavorful, the chicken was cooked just right for chicken breast, tender and soaks up the Marsala gravy very well. They give you a GOOD amount of spinach, which I find rare for restaurants to do.. to me, vegetables are important! I’ve ordered it once a long time ago, and today ordering it again reminded me how satisfied I was. It’s a lot of food for me, so I am able to stretch it over two days. The price is very fair, about $26 for 2 pieces of chicken and spinach with lots of perfectly cooked mushrooms. It’s a win-win. This keeps me wanting to try other items on the menu for next time.
The only other thing I wish was different with Fumo was a separate fryer, the fries aren’t gluten free ):
I had the gluten free pizza twice when I first moved to Harlem in 2023… respectively a miss, due to the crust. I recommend every restaurant use caputo crust or make their own (rising) crust. Their crust is thin and hard unfortunately. The vegan pizza is tasty, despite that. The only reason I wouldn’t get it again is because of the crust.
Would recommend Fumo Harlem 👍🏽
This cozy spot stands out for its great gluten-free noodle options, including flavorful sweet potato noodles that maintain a rich and satisfying taste. The authentic Chinese street-food vibe complements the experience, with hand-pulled noodles and dishes like tender, well-seasoned lamb and spicy cumin wings enhancing the inviting atmosphere. Its warm, welcoming setting makes it a top choice for those seeking delicious, gluten-free Asian comfort food in the neighborhood.

I used to come here many times when it opened a while back and the noodles were amazing! Recently, I found out I can't eat gluten and stopped going. However, I found out that they offer gluten free option and one being sweet potato noodles and honestly you can't tell the dish is gluten free. The flavor is still rich, it pops, and the amount of food will leave you food for the day. I recommend trying their Specialty Noodles, my favorite being the Dapan Niu. Definitely one the hidden gems in the neighborhood!

The Chipped Cup has that secret speakeasy vibe, which I love. The inside is much bigger than expected. It had that old, antique look with warm lights and exposed brick walls. They had some baked goods in the showcase, and they offer other dishes such as sandwiches, burrito, toasts, etc.
What makes The Chipped Cup extra special is their back patio. It is so peaceful and beautiful! For extra peaceful vibe, go there early before everyone else arrives.
We have been to The Chipped Cup a few times, and we had tried a few different drinks and food. I love Liège Waffle, and they make a great one here. It was soft and doughy, rich and had the perfect chewy texture. Lemon Loaf here is gluten free. It was moist and delightful! The Coconut Latte was delicious. Sweet but not overly sweet, with the subtle aroma and flavor coconut.
Bagel & Lox came with ample amount of lox, super fresh and delicious. Bagels was not the easiest to cut and eat (in my opinion) even with the knife and fork, but it was very tasty. Loved the addition of the tomatoes in here. They also offer gluten free bread available, and vegan cream cheese options too.
The staffs here were friendly and polite. The back patio space was so peaceful and relaxing. About the time we were done, more people arrived at the patio, and even more people in the inside space. We were happy to have our quiet, tranquil time before the morning rush.

Delicious food and fast service. Called in advance to confirm that they could make my options gluten free and they did. Loved the pad Thai, (gluten free!) however it was not spicy at all, and I love it more spicy!!! and the fried tofu had a yummy dipping sauce.
