Perfect for gluten free meals! Amazing experience, beautiful atmosphere, delicious food, friendly waiter, clean bathrooms, and lovely outdoor seating with a view of NYC! I got the roasted mushroom tacos! Delicious!
This is not a dedicated gf kitchen. They make pizzas and do not have separate cooking spaces. The staff is very educated and knowledgeable about allergies though.
One of my favorite restaurants on the UES by far! The mac & cheese can be made gluten free and it's AMAZING. We also loved their roasted artichoke salad, paella, tuna tartare, and hamburger! The cozy atmosphere here is unmatched and this place is truly a hidden gem. Highly recommend making a reservation because it's definitely a popular spot
Love this place! I’m a vegetarian, and my spouse is vegetarian and has a gluten allergy, and the Red Fern was able to accommodate with no issue whatsoever. We even had our choice of bakery items to choose from, which is practically unheard of. Only downfall is the staircase to enter, so it’s not particularly accessible, but they do have plenty of outdoor seating on the ground level.
Incredible experience here. The staff is so lovely and considerate. Food was fantastic. They had so many gluten free options for my mom, even for dessert! Will absolutely be coming back.
I love Cantina because they have a dedicated gluten free fryer so you can have the chips, taquitos, chicken wings etc! There are so many options I go here with my boyfriend when we want a place that has an extensive list and is delicious. Also, their happy hour menu is basically all
Gluten free and a steal. BOGO margs and $5 apps like their nachos which are one of my favs!
Green Street is one of my favorite local eateries! The food is always fresh and delicious. They owners come up with so many creative recipes which are always gluten free and vegan. We will keep coming back to this place again and again!
Amazing margaritas, food was so awesome. Highly recommend for locals and out-of-towners. Authentic Mexican food. Great service. So many gluten free options!
Wonderful experience. Staff was so friendly and made the meal enjoyable. We got taquitos and the nacho flight and it was all delicious. For those looking for celiac safe, this is it. Everything on the menu is celiac friendly except the flour tortillas which are made and prepped in a separate area. The owner was so kind and we had a great time.
Had Salenas delivered for dinner and it was delicious. So fresh and tasty. It was so easy to find food I could eat (gluten free dairy free) and it tastes amazing. I also love being able to order margaritas to go!! 5 stars!
Phenomenal. Best in Buffalo. Go now.
Las Puertas is a fine dining experience on the West Side, free of pretension and full of heart.
The French menu series was a delight, showcasing creativity and mastery. From table candles that transformed to melted duck fat and ghee to simple salads, perfectly dressed, the experience sparked joy. I will be chasing the delight of the crawfish soup and the pear sorbet in my cooking and dining for years. From the cocktail menu, the well dressed and old fashioned was the best old fashioned I have ever tasted.
On a personal note - my booking was a party of six to celebrate my elopement that day. One guest had allergies to gluten, dairy, and soy. Head chef Victor Parra Gonzalez called me directly, understanding the importance of the occasion, and confirmed the nature of these allergies. He put together a special menu for the guest in our party with allergies, with each course mirroring the fixed menu. This level of hospitality allowed us to celebrate joyously, and I am so thankful to the chef and his team.
I am excited to return and see where the menu travels next, and will recommend this restaurant highly to anyone who wants an above and beyond meal and experience in Buffalo.
This restaurant had creative, unique Mexican cuisine that is mostly gluten free. My wife had the Birria Bowl and it is pure comfort food. I had the special Watermelon salad that was had elements of the Luchador Salad and Cobb Salad. Service is very friendly and helpful. Love the Luchador style.
Fabulous food and drinks plus an amazing staff. Your water glass will never be empty and your chip basket will always be full. The staff works as a team so you never need to wait for 1 server to assist you. The service is truly at a fine dining level. Their birthday song is so fun and you leave with a full belly and some to bring home. The Margarita's are amazing and the strawberry mint mocktail was delicious. The carne asada with plantains was perfectly paired together. They even have some plain dishes for your picky eaters and a refreshing gluten free menu. The building is spotless inside and out and the patio area is beautifully tiled.
Loved this place! Super friendly staff, awesome food and drinks, and tons of gluten-free options—which is such a win. Everything tasted great and the vibe was really chill. Definitely coming back next time I am in the area.
Incredibly accomodating for those who need gluten free alternatives. They made sure to set my gf order separately, heating the tortillas aside and having the staff handle the food properly to avoid issues. Much appreciated!
The chicken taco was pretty tasty and the tacos al pastor is a must. Very tasty add ins, such as a delicious fire roasted chile spicy condiment, as well.
Be prepared for a non-sitting experience.

Literally the best tacos I’ve ever had and I think the entire menu may be gluten free? The menu is simple and I love that. It’s one of the most reliable places I eat at. I’m celiac and I’ve never had a problem.
We had dinner here. The wait staff ask about any food allergies before you order. I felt very comfortable eating here. Yummy food! The guac is amazing!!
So much to say about this place. Cozy Ambiance, friendly staff, amazing drinks. The food is unique and delicious. Our favorite go to for a great margarita and table side guacamole. I’m gluten free and there are so many choices.
My wife, girlfriend and I visited Toro of Albany last night and the experience left us all dissatisfied. The blue corn tortillas used for the gluten free application of the chicken tacos were meely and unappetizing. The 32$ enchiladas with shrimp were 90% tortilla. Each only had 1 shrimp and very little filling. For the price tag, we expected a fantastic meal and it was not delivered. The margaritas were ok but at 15$ a piece, seemed over priced. The only bright spot was our bar tender, rob I believe. He was smart, funny, knowledgeable and overall the best part of the experience. Overall I would say visit this spot for drinks and conversation only.
Came here on a Saturday for boozy brunch. They had a bunch of different mimosa flavors and sangria. It was fun trying different flavors. They had many gluten free and vegan food options as well. Carolyn was awesome! She was super nice and friendly!
This place is absolutely enjoyable. The food was good, they had healthy options, gluten friendly. The drinks were top notch 👌🏽 the environment was packed!! The service was extremely prompt, especially when it came to the kitchen. You order on your phone through QR code or with pencil and paper. It can be separate orders/same order for the party at your table - and that got a little confusing, but other than this it was a fun outing. On your way out, grab their souvenir, a box of matches with their logo. Very cool.
Very easy to eat gluten free here. Once I notified the waiter I had Celiac, she went back to the kitchen for a fresh batch of tortilla chips to ensure they were gluten free and not cross contaminated, I immediately felt comfortable eating here after that! The enchiladas were amazing and the orange flan blew me away.
Things to know:
Slaw = Raw Cabbage (for texture! No Mayo. This is a good thing).
Allergies = Super friendly. Clearly marked on all menu items; able to alter order for GF/DF for my wife who has Celiac.
Ambiance = bomb. Music was straight passion pit and phoenix. Bob’s burgers on the TV. Chattering teeth toys hanging from the ceiling. What more can you ask for?
Service = incredible. Andrea was knowledgeable, kind, helpful, and struck a great balance between making sure we had what we needed right away and leaving us be so we could enjoy our food. Her recommendations were spot on.
Prices/portions = also spot on.
Happy Hour = Half priced beer every day 4-7pm. It’s also not busy at all. Come here then.
Creole Fish & General Tso’s Shrimp Tacos = to die for. Literally. The shrimp taco was so spicy it almost killed me. I loved every minute of it.
Fly Bird = Nothing to write home about. This was my first visit and I hope I just caught them on a bad day, but I expected fresh tenders and these seemed like they were frozen/overly breaded. I’ll try again before I write it off wholesale. Redemption: the Fly Bird Custom Sauces were great and worth the extra $1.50. Try the Banana Pepper Honey Mustard. Perfect blend of sweet and spicy.
Dinner was fantastic. We had a change of dinner plans for a group of 9, and they sat us in 15 minutes. The service was excellent; our waitress took such good care of us, and we got our food quickly. We also needed gluten-free options and were very impressed with how knowledgeable the staff was in accommodating our needs. Highly recommend this place for both the service and the food quality!

I do love this place. The food is good, the plantains incredible and the women that work here r on top of it. I’m an avid goer and lover of this spot, however recently they have been updating their menu and the markings for what is GF and Vegan or Vegetarian are not consistent. This is a huge issue that I hope they solve. As I am annoying, I walked the waiter through all the mistakes in the menu which prompted a lovely waitress who seemed much more knowledgeable than the grumbling man I was dealing with, to come out and confirm I hadn’t been glutening myself here for 4 years. Please please I beg you fix the markings, have someone knowledgeable in dietary restrictions look over it or at least have multiple eyes on it to double check it’s consistent, because it’s super scary and incredibly annoying. Otherwise a gem, please get the plantains
I was so excited to try Colonia Verde but sadly left very disappointed. While most of the menu is marked gluten free, for some reason they use a shared fryer.
The place is beautiful, but the food is just OK. I had the mushroom tacos and the picanha, and to be honest they were just fine. Our waiter seemed a little confused around what was safe for celiac or not, which again was just disappointing given how well the menu is marked!
It’s easy to miss this great taco spot - because it’s on a mostly residential side street, just off Broadway. Very tasty and great service. The menu says the tortillas are made with gluten free handmade nixtamal tortillas. This is the best place to get tacos and drinks in the West 90’s.
I never leave reviews, but the closing of his restaurant has made me feel really so sad. The first day I ever ate here I came by myself and the atmosphere was so peaceful. I am so thankful to have found this place which became my favorite restaurant in NYC. All gluten free. A true gem, in the cut, which I loved. I ate here today on their last day and have been wishing for a miracle that they would just decide to stay open! Beautiful decor, the service is always pleasant, and the food is always so damn good. The best churros ever. Best nachos, fajitas, quesadillas, tostadas EVER, drinks, everything. <3
