I am celiac and was able to eat at this restaurant, the staff made me feel heard about my allergy and reassured me with the measures they would take to make my meal safe. Great place to go! Surf is truly a gem in downtown Whitby. If you’re looking for a place to grab some excellent cocktails and amazing SoCal style small plates and shareables, this is where you wanna be. They do a feature cocktail each week to keep it fresh (which you can find on their Insta) and everything they serve is made in-house (plus, their entire menu is 100% gluten free). The staff are all super friendly and very knowledgeable when it comes to the drinks and food. If you come by in the summer they have a really beautiful back patio, too. All around just a really amazing place that you should check out if you’re looking for a nice cocktail bar/restaurant in Durham.

Very live crowd. Great service. Food tasted great. My colleagues had a great time. Everyone else also enjoyed their food. They were very accommodating for one of my colleagues who had a gluten allergy. He seemed impressed well. Although I live on the opposite side of the GTA, I would consider eating here again if I am in the area.

My fiance and I recently hosted an Engagement Lunch at The Brock House. Coordinating with Maddison, one of the owners who is also the event coordinator, was incredibly easy as she was very efficient and quick to answer all of my questions. We reserved the Nash room and it was a beautiful space that was able to easily accommodate our 35 guests without it feeling cramped. One of our guests uses a wheelchair and there was zero issue with her being able to get into the space, have her meal, and use the washroom. The staff had helped set up and decorate everything before we got there, and it was exactly how we envisioned it. It made walking in feel that much more special. Everyone on the team was so kind and attentive, making sure our guests were taken care of and that the whole event ran smoothly. The food was absolutely delicious, and we’ve been hearing nonstop compliments from our family and friends. The team was also very attuned to allergies and food intolerances, which was very much appreciated as we had a variety in our group, including gluten-free guests. We truly couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate such an important day. Huge thanks to everyone at The Brock House. You made our engagement lunch so memorable, and we’re really grateful. Highly recommend for any special occasion!

This location never gets the orders right. I ordered for pickup and they missed half the food in the bag. When I called they told me I was trying to rip them off. I ordered again for delivery from Skip and request Gluten-Free buns. They made the burgers on regular buns, when I called they were told me to come in. At least Skip will credit the mistake, but these mistakes shouldn't happen.

Not a bad restaurant overall. Nice atmosphere with friendly well dressed waitstaff. We were personally served by Jason who was quite accommodating and friendly. He kept my lady happy with a well made Margarita from the bar so I'll try not to hold the fact he had no ciders for a thirsty man against him. Seriously get some ciders milestones! I was please that Jason did everything he could to help us meet our dietary restrictions. He needed to put in some extra effort helping us understand what was gluten free and what wasn't. For whatever reason the menu only lists two gluten free options, despite many more being available upon request. Fixing the menu is the second thing I would recommend for the restaurant as at first glance it will keep many customers with special diets away that would otherwise visit. All in all a good experience and worth the visit.

People wear very nice. Was able to get gluten free. However the large deluxe we ordered looked more like a cheese and pepperoni with a few onions peppers and mushrooms. Very scimpy on the topings and crust was thin and overcooked and very thin. Update: customer service is obviously a priority as we received a replacement. Thank ypu very much.

Swiss cheese in omelette was processed and didn't taste very good mixed with so many tomatoes and onion. However the redeeming item was the gluten free bun which was amazing.

Came for lunch. Was delicious! I’m gluten free and the server and chef were able to work with me to ensure I had a safe and delicious experience. I had the pizza. Others at my table had the wrap, fish tacos and mussels. All loved their food.

I really LOVE this Pizza Pizza!!! I used to live close by and now I continue to drive to this one all the time. My daughter's favorite Pizza also is Pizza pizza. Not only do they make very amazing pizzas, it's affordable and have many options for everyone. Today I got the gluten free and I must say I am soooo HAPPY I did! We placed an order with Arun at papa johns in Whitby today, I was very specific about my gluten free pizza. Normally, I eat something other than pizza because I really don’t care for gluten free crust. Mine was amazing, there was extra sauce as requested with ample toppings. Was one of the best pizzas I’ve had. If you must have gluten free crust, this is the only place to go. Thankyou Arun

A great place for all-you-can-eat soup and salad. Great value, you basically get 2 meals if you eat enough unlimited soup/salad/bread and take your entrée home. It has a very customizable menu, with several "make your own" pizzas and pasta options. The service and is quick and friendly. There's also a good selection of vegetarian and gluten free options.

We LOVE the Zen. I called ahead to ask if they can make chili chicken gluten free- they did it for my chicken and my fried rice too. I was wondering how it would taste but it was fantastic! As with any GF substitute, it didn't get quite as crispy but they did an amazing job making it taste the same and it had a nice coating. I only thought to take a pic after I'd eaten half of it...lol Best wheat-free meal I've had in a long time! More exclamation marks!!!
