The food was awesome! And Henry is the man! His recommendations were the selections that I went with and he took care of me with regard to my gluten allergy. I went with the red fish and it was so good. It was the perfect end to my 60th birthday celebration in the Big Easy.
Jess and Eric were absolutely fantastic! Their service was top-notch from start to finish. My wife has Celiac disease, and they were both incredibly knowledgeable and attentive when helping her find safe and delicious options. We truly appreciated their care and attention to detail. Thank you for making our experience so enjoyable!

We sat out in the air conditioned front section and Christy took great care of us! We were looking for some yummy gluten free options and Sophia’s pizza was really great. Next time we will try the gf pastas. Christy was awesome and the kale salad was my favorite - definitely try the kale salad.
I was hoping for a good meal away from the French Quarter, but we got so much more. The entrees were SOOO good, they truly took us by surprise. I’ll remember the chicken and the shrimp dishes for a while.
I rarely order dessert, but after an entree that good, I needed to see what dessert offered. The Salted Peanut Pie was delicious. Only thing of mention was about the lack of gluten free dessert options - typical ice cream and sorbet offering.
I ordered the Vegan Lover Pizza, which I’ve gotten several times before, only to have a different employee tell me that it’s not actually vegan unless you order it with the gluten-free crust??? Wildly misleading! Apparently, the regular crust has butter in it. I am so thankful that other employee let me know.
Sad and deceived.
We had a great time dining in for a company dinner. The service was fast and our server, Sirius, was an excellent host. He was friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. I forgot to take pictures but the food was delicious! And the cornbread was probably my favorite thing I ate. My co-worker is also gluten free and was able to enjoy a lot of food and even the charbroiled oysters! Would recommend!
We went here specifically for gluten free food. The owner was there and super friendly. We ordered gluten free fried green tomatoes, shrimp, crayfish, catfish, pickles, and fries. The coating/breading was light and airy.
We were the only ones in the restaurant. It was a little awkward, quiet, and dark.
I am gluten free but the others with me were not. The charbroiled and raw oysters are amazing! And they're gluten-free except you have to ask for bread on the side. I probably did not order the right thing, but I had the grillled shrimp which were meh and the fries that were nice. for gluten full people, the beignets were a hit and also the gumbo and bisque
We wanted Fabulous local food and Sylvain’s did not disappoint! We had the Pappardelle Bolognese and Striped Bass which were both delicious, we also had the Fried Cauliflower which was a wonderful surprise!! Our server Chris was knowledgeable, efficient, and friendly. They were able to accommodate my gluten free restrictions, including dessert…a coconut crème brûlée! The ambiance was intimate and beautiful, we loved everything about this restaurant and highly recommend it!
Outstanding GLUTEN-FREE fried chicken and salt and vinegar string fries. We sat ourselves in the semi-enclosed private room on the second floor, which was comfortable, allowed us to hear the live music and talk comfortably with one another. The cocktails were delightful and interesting!
I love getting the chicken avocado wrap! I have a little day date with my dog here on their outside seating often. I love that they offer gluten free and vegan options on their menu so I can bring my friends too

The gluten free menu was great and had plenty of options. I had seen there used to be gluten free gumbo however there isn’t anymore. I had jumbalaya instead which was okay, but slightly bland. It’s also quite noisy inside and the AC was on high so it was cold.
I think the outside patio looked lovely and would recommend sitting out there.
Otherwise service was fine and lots of good food options.
Great restaurant with authentic food and amazing service! Could accommodate my gluten allergy which I sincerely appreciate :-). Steak frites and eggs are fire 🔥
Run to this restaurant. The dishes are so delicious with lots of flavor and balance spices. Prince is very patient to explain the recipes, the used ingredient and the history of this Ethiopian cuisine. In addition 99,99% of the dishes are gluten free.
waiter was phenomenal with dietary restrictions and went above & beyond to make my partner and i feel welcome! (dairy free and gluten free). we had the jambalaya (GF, DF) (4/5) and the rice and beans (GF) (4/5) and the flight lemonade drinks (2.5/5). the potato salad and the appetizer sausage was SOOO delicious. overall awesome atmosphere, people & food. worth the long line outside ! (and super affordable)

We waited 40mn for a table for a late dinner. The person at the reception wasnt the friendliest but we were hungry. BIG SHOUT-OUT to Paul on the merch side to be kind enough to talk to us while we waited! We finally got a table and ended up waiting 15/20 mn to get a server. Wasnt too thrilled about that. Server was nice and informative on food allergies though. They have a gluten free menu available, but the seasoned fries weren't gluten free, needs updated. We got a burger and a pulled pork sandwich with green beans sub for fries. Overall wasnt impressed with the food specially for the price. Manager came to check on us and we ended up talking about music and tattoos! Memorabilia was interesting on the walls.
Food was excellent we took our food to go so I don't know how it was inside. My wife has a gluten allergy she said the gluten-free pizza tasted great which is hard to do would go back
I cannot have gluten or seed oils due to severe allergies, and this restaurant was very accommodating with their steak and working with me on sides because it's very difficult to eat out sometimes. The New York strip was cooked. Absolutely perfectly service was fantastic and the restaurant was very clean.
As an Ethiopian, I can attest that this restaurant is definitely serving great quality authentic Ethiopian flavors! Great for vegetarians and gluten friendly. I can compare this food to the standard of my own family cooking. The waitress was also nice and knowledgeable in the dishes. Give it a try!
The food was very tasty with good sized portions -- I had the cheese enchiladas and my partner had the street tacos in jerk chicken and adobo. The jerk chicken was incredible. The music was super loud, which I wasn't a fan of, and the servers were laid back, which I don't mind but some people don't like. There were a lot of drink specials and an abundance of vegetarian options on the menu, and eating gluten free was very easy. We'll definitely be back.
Excellent choice for dinner. Top notch service, unique drinks, and a great ambiance. Gluten free options. We tried both raw and charbroiled oysters. Yum! I had the risotto. It had a bit of a kick. Husband had pasta. So good!
Great service. Amazing food. Loved the atmosphere. Really enjoyable gluten-free options!
**Edit** Would love to come back but that's a long trip from Western Canada! Lol
Get the chicken, bacon pizza and substitute the red sauce for the butter garlic. Amazing!! The staff are friendly for sure. The place is small so if you have a large group it may stick you in the back near where they make the dough. The gluten free is not made in house but is really good. The chicken wings are also fantastic. We had ours with BBQ sauce. They were crispy and meaty. For two sodas, pizza, and wings came to around $50 with tip.
I placed a take-out order for gluten-free pad thai. When I arrived, the system wasn't working properly and they had not received my order. The host took my order and apologized. It was ready in about 5 minutes, which was incredibly quick. The flavors were robust and very authentic. Thanks for the great food, service, and gluten-free options!
We only waited like 15 minutes. Very good service. Food was amazing. Not very pricy either. 10 out of 10. You can customize your burger , hotdog, ETC. You can sub a gluten free bun too. Definitely recommend 👌🏻
Great place. Gluten-free options for pasta and pizza. Some other menu items could be gluten-free, but you had to ask, they were not marked. They had one of the best GF pizza crust I ever had. I look forward to trying other menu items. Points off for a wobbly table and chair.
Gluten-free labeled on the menu! Great cocktails made with their own spirits - we tried 6 different ones and liked all - and excellent food. We had the chicken sandwich and gulf shrimp over Creole slaw with a GF chocolate torte for dessert! A great way to spend a few hours, especially at happy hour prices - $5 for craft cocktails!
From the appetizer to the dessert, flavors were incredible and service was natural, jovial, and fun. Our server did not get a single thing wrong, even with my son’s gluten and dairy allergy.
We felt welcome the moment we walked through the door and we were even acknowledged as we left. This is hospitality at its finest and I recommend this establishment to any visitor to New Orleans.
So the place is cute and the staff are incredibly kind and friendly, but unfortunately, I had a really bad experience. I am gluten free, got their little gluten free menu, told the waiter I'm gluten free, ordered the grilled oysters, and it came with bread. I asked the waiter if the bread was gluten free and he said yes. I ate the bread, it was delicious, and then the waiter came back and recommended I eat the oysters with the crackers(I'm new to oysters and I asked how to eat them), but the crackers are clearly made with wheat. So I asked again, is the bread gluten free? He said yes. I said, are you sure? Because I already ate some. He scurried to the back and asked the chef and sure enough, it's normal bread. He was panicked, I told him I won't die, and then told me to get to a CVS asap. He still made me pay for my drink after I said I wouldn't pay for the food. I didn't argue because I just needed to get out asap and I'm non-confrontational. Celiac disease isn't like lactose intolerance. I get sick, for days sometimes. This experience sucked so bad and I'm so upset because I'm only in nola for 2 more days and I'm going to be feeling weak and nauseous the rest of my time here. Again, the staff was so friendly! But he needs to know more about common allergies.
Not my first time & definitely won't be my last. This time we went because they have started a Saturday "Bottoms Up Brunch", which is the same great food & drinks with the added bonus of one of New Orleans' best burlesque performers, Bella Blue, doing a pole/burlesque performance throughout the restaurant. It was an absolute blast and something very unique. I had the bloody Maria with mezcal - the best Tajin rim I've ever tasted. Apparently the chef's get the chamoy from the same Mexican outdoor market in Texas whenever they're traveling through and it's insanely good. My friend got one of the mocktails and it was also very good. Refreshing with great layers of flavor rarely found in an N/A option.
And on to the next level of how Palm & Pine always gets it right. Between the two of us we have some pretty restrictive dietary needs. I choose a veggie heavy pescatarian diet. My friend has an autoimmune disease that flares up from a long list of things, the two worst being dairy & gluten. Next time you go to a restaurant see if you can find something to eat that doesn't have dairy, gluten, or meat in it...especially in New Orleans...go ahead...I'll wait...no I won't! I'll starve before you find me something. They have quite a few delicious vegetarian & seafood options but no dairy & no gluten together is tough. Our server happened to be the manager, Monica. Not only did she check multiple times with the chef for ingredients but the kitchen was able to swap out a side on her entree to get her something she loved and worked with her restrictions, all while being extremely kind and lovely about it all. All of this with what is supposed to be a pre-fixe menu, which they absolutely didn't have to do. I couldn't tell you the number of times my friend has be told elsewhere "no we can't change anything" and she'll just pick around it or leave off half the items in the dish, which she's used to doing and offered multiple times to do to not make it a hassle for the kitchen. The folks at Palm & Pine just took it in stride and went above and beyond expectations.
Top notch in all categories. Wish I had taken pics but was too busy enjoying the food, drinks, & people.
I came to New Orleans for my bachelorette party and my group decided to eat here. My sister and I both have a severe gluten allergy and it is hard enough to eat anywhere in the city. We both opted for salads to be safe. I asked my waiter if there were croutons on the salad and they replied no. He then brought both of our salads out full of croutons. I sent it back to be remade and reiterated that we have an allergy. The kitchen staff then proceeded to pick off the croutons on the salad instead of remaking it and sent it back to us. We had many bites before digging to the bottom and realizing it was full of croutons still. The service was slow, and my waiter didn’t care about our food requests. The manager did comp the meal for us but the potential of us ending up in the hospital due to an allergic reaction was unacceptable. The waiter then proceeded to joke with us about it on the way out. He should be fired. TRAIN YOUR STAFF TO BE MORE VIGILANT ABOUT FOOD ALLERGIES. THEY ARE SERIOUS FOR SOME PEOPLE AND COULD KILL THEM.
The falafels are excellent. The humus and tahini are so fresh. I’ve been twice in 3 days and will go back at least a third before I leave NOLA.
They are very knowledgeable about gluten free options as well.
If you want freshly made and excellent food you can feel good about eating, then I highly recommend Cleo’s.
This was a great find in a recent trip to New Orleans. The food and service were amazing. They were able to point me to several gluten free options. I was able to eat any of the specialty oysters without breadcrumbs. The red snapper dish was also gluten free and delicious. The cocktails were fun, too.
My only complaint is that I didn't find this place on my first day here. The staff is incredibly friendly. The breakfast buffet is beyond delicious. Perfect corn bread (gluten free!) and the grits are creamy and so so good.
The pizza was great. We have a friend who can't eat gluten and they have s great cauliflower crust za that was very tasty! Great vibes, just stay away from the farthest back table because the air blows super hard on it. Also, they are open late for food
It's basic food with a casual atmosphere. Decent amount of options on the menu that can accommodate kids plus gluten free options. Music was up so loud conversation was very difficult but everyone was friendly yet not overly attentive. Having 8 different items on the menu nothing was bad but nothing that was great either. Stop in and expect to get full at a fair price.
