Our new family celebration venue. Highly recommended for coeliacs. Fabulous spot, friendly and attentive staff (particularly with coelic requests) and best of all happy tummies :)
Love that they have gluten free vegan cheese pizza option. Our Hawaiian pizza came a little under cooked. Great gluten free spaghetti bolognese. The spaghetti all a pescadora (gluten free) was the bomb!
We rocked up to Chica Bonita last night, no booking, just vibes (and praying for a table because yall are always booked and busy). Faye, the legend, made it happen. Table secured, minimal wait time. How bloody good!
Big shoutout to Faye and Connor for looking after us like absolute pros. As someone with coeliac disease (I know, worst customer ever—sorry!), I felt so looked after. They took it seriously, explained everything clearly, and made sure I could eat safely and deliciously. Legends.
You can tell the team actually enjoy being there—the energy was so good, music was on point, and the rain outside? Paid actor. Pure ambience.
Cocktails? Dangerous (in the best way). Food? Ridiculously good. Vibes? Unmatched.
Already counting down to our next visit. Thanks team!
Valeska was our server. She was very knowledgeable about the menu. I have celiac disease and she helped make sure my food was gluten free. Steak was delicious and expertly cooked!
Really good place to eat for gluten free, there are so many choices. Even better it's easy to be paleo, low carb or even keto - just order salad bowl with meat and guacamole/sour cream if you eat dairy. Perfect and cheap healthy meal. Love the free range chicken too.
I was served by a lovely waiter named Sam. He was hilarious and super quick with our orders and table of 17.
I had the chicken chorizo quesadillas, which were one of the best meals I have ever had. I'm not usually a cheese person, but the cheese on the quesadilla was perfect. The chicken was cooked and spiced wonderfully. It was very filling and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Also, most members of my family are celiac, and all the food was served fully gluten-free without cross-contamination. We all had a wonderful time and will be coming back again.
I had a lovely lunch with my friends. Food was great including seperate food for one of us who is gluten free. We were so well looked after by Naomi during lunch and Ben and Chris were also awesome. Thanks so much guys, we’ll be back!
Utterly delicious food (feed me more option) and service was exceptional. We were amazed by their ability to cater for gluten, dairy, egg and peanut intolerances. Wine was also yummy.
Wockbar is an institution in Manly... Been going here on and off for so long. They have a great range of dishes and make a good selection of Gluten free dishes. The staff are always happy and friendly and the service is always fast. #letsguide #thaifood #chinesefood #sydneyfood #australia
Fun fun fun - food, drinks, atmosphere and the gorgeous staff members make Tijuana’s such a vibe! The bottomless in particular is so worth it, the drinks come out quickly and there was plenty of food to go around + options for our gluten free friends! Highly recommend!
A really enjoyable evening out. PC Paul Bunion and the rest of the crew really understand that novelty makes everything better. The vibes are excellent, the theme is some great nautical fun. The food and drinks menu offers great variety both conventional and surprising; plenty of vegan and gluten free options (my partner says the gluten free bun is the best she has ever had) and almost every day of the week offers some kind of special event to entertain. Special mention to the hospitality, the barstaff were super friendly and were so happy to chat to my partner and I about everything from the venue, to the local area, to pirates.
We only spent a short while there but would have happily stayed much longer and will definitely be back for tequila Tuesday!
Would rate 10 stars if it was possible, only give this one a miss if you hate fun.
Please get someone who knows English to take orders. I got the exact opposite of what I ordered. I am celiac and the person who took my order could not answer any of my questions. I work in hospitality and know what food safety is, and know how to take care of customers. I didn't feel any safe and had to throw half of the food away.
Great food and great staff. My housemates and I were celebrating our Christmas in advance and we ended our day eating in Fratelli Manly. We all have restrictions such as one is coeliac, one is vegetarian, one is dairy intolerant and I'm allergic to crabs&shrimp but they have options for each. So well done. We enjoyed our meal very much, thanks chefs, thank you managers and floor staff. Well done BOH & FOH.
Our group of six dined at Sake (Manly), and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. The atmosphere is stylish yet relaxed, perfect for a group gathering. Their menu offers a great selection of gluten-free options, making it an easy choice for those with dietary needs (me!).
The food was beautifully presented and full of flavor—everything from the fresh sashimi to the perfectly grilled meats was top-notch. But the real highlight? The desserts!
The service was friendly and attentive, and the waterfront location added to the overall charm.
I just wanted to send a huge thank you to the functions team at Little Pearl for organizing my birthday celebration at the Beach Bar! The attention to detail, especially with the personalised welcome and bar signage that matched my theme, made the evening truly special. Everything ran so smoothly, and the food was fantastic (and filling!). I was especially grateful for the care given to my two gluten-free guests—they felt so well looked after. The cocktails were absolutely delicious, and the team ensured we had everything we needed throughout the night.
Our friends had a wonderful time, but I had the BEST time! Thank you for making my birthday unforgettable!"
Only grabbed a tea, the cafe was small, clean and very cute.
The food looked amazing — however I’m gluten free and couldn’t indulge.
The staff were a bit of a hit and miss, the lovely young woman that served me was on the ball, friendly, efficient and warm.
There was another younger woman working who was more shy and not as efficient and not as happy to serve customers.
Very good and fancy healthy food (gluten free and vegan options) . A lot of choices which regularly change. Very nice staff. The smoothies are very good as well. Huge terrace in the sun and in the shade to make everyone happy.
You chose your plate and then find a table which is super efficient. Small and big groups are welcome. No booking but you will find a spot at anytime.
Really nice spot for a drink, their signature apple crumble cocktail is a must try!
The food was good, we had some crispy squid which was nicely fried and crunchy. Just to note the fried stuff such as the squid and fries is not coeliac safe as they are in a shared fryer even though it’s marked gluten free. We also ordered the calabrese salami pizza with a gluten free base, the toppings were excellent but the base had a really hard crust. It was still nice to be able to enjoy a safe gluten free pizza with my partner. Definitely will be back for drinks in the future, the food menu could be a bit more extensive but do appreciate they have options for coeliacs.
If I could give a ten star review I would.
The food was incredible.
The service was especially impeccable given that my partner is coeliac the service staff were ever so thoughtful and caring.
And because we went to eat on a Saturday, the beats that they had playing were awesome. I found myself shazaming multiple songs-(tasteful Jazz-House beats).
Overall one of the better restaurant experiences I've had in Australia and I will definitely return the next time I'm back in Sydney. 20 out of 10, Would recommend 👌
I came here with my friend and our daughters yesterday. We had Marcela as our Waitress. She was kind, polite and was great helping me work out what I could eat (as per photo- chips aren’t coeliac friendly- my kids ate them) with my multiple allergies (gluten, dairy, egg and soy). Will definitely come back here again.
The locals in Manly stick to a great cafe when they find it. This one also has the magic ingredient of an excellent location - feels like being on the Mediteranean coast. Despite a super busy Australia Day we enjoyed speedy delivery of a delicious breakfast of poached eggs, smoked salmon, truss tomatoes and hash brown-they even accommodated a shared meal half gluten free and half regular sourdough toast with no fuss- wonderful service. The food and the coffee here is consistently good. The staff work so hard (a busy cafe is a good sign) and they always have a friendly smile. Thanks Jen and Mick.
Had the most wonderful dinner! Food was scrumptious. Service was excellent! Waiters were so professional and accommodating. Catered well for those on Gluten Free diet. Excellent! I will be back
Im coeliac and ordered the white gluten free toast. I paid $8 and was surprised to receive 2 pathetic slices of very ordinary toast. I know you make your own seedy bread so why not a high quality white? There is really good GF bread out there (Nonies) and I’m surprised that a place like The Boathouse has not sourced it.
We had the most scrumptious salt and chilli squid. The squid just melted in my mouth. The chilli aioli was absolutely to die for. I can report that my Dad loved the sauce so much, he grabbed it and drank the rest of it, even though the meal had been finished. The salad was tasty, with a nice tangy dressing for the leaves, cherry tomatoes and corn, which was a unique touch I appreciated.
The jugs for the drinks are an absolute bargain. We got a massive jug of Lemon Lime & Bitters that was coolly refreshing and perfectly satisfied all four of us.
The service was top notch - all our questions were clearly and concisely answered. They even modified our meals to suit our dietary requirements and double-checked to make sure the order was correct.
The atmosphere was pleasant, with a cool breeze, simplistic yet satisfying decor and upbeat background music that uplifted even the pickiest of music connoisseurs (aka my parents).
In the next two photos, you can see the Korean Chicken Burger (gluten free bun) and the Ivanhoe Burger. We leveraged the Wednesday special to get $10 off each of these. My Dad called his Ivanhoe Burger ‘the best burger I have ever eaten’, and at 77, he has certainly eaten a lot of burgers in his life.
The Korean Chicken Burger was truly splendid and filling. It was beautifully crispy, the cucumbers and slaw nicely complemented the warmly melted cheese and the other ingredients. The chicken is so yummy. The chips were hot, crispy and overall stellar.
The tomato sauce was so good. It wasn’t too salty. My wife and Mum shared a Scotch Fillet 300g steak that wholly filled them up. They even gave a mushroom sauce to die for, and the steak was perfectly medium. They even customised our order to have chips and vegetables, a Goated staple from the RSL menus. The vegetables were well seasoned with just the right amount of salt and pepper, not overpowering the other flavours.
Note that there are no longer pizzas on the menu, which I loved in the past. But the meals that are still there are all absolute bangers. Burger connoisseurs should come every Wednesday.
10/10, would happily come back again.
We had a great lunch with friends, it is a lively, happy place. The food was great, we have just returned from the Greek Islands...so nice to have found a genuine Greek restaurant in beautiful Manly. We will definitely be back....I did go back!
Even better, my daughter and I loved everything the prawns were delicious and the haloumi and the gluten free pita with tzatziki and the mixed grill, service was impeccable! Thank you.
Fantastic lunch
