Incredible Gluten Free Battered Fish. Yes Battered! Beer battered or Tempura. Both delicious and crunchy. Very solid wine and beer choices too. Went back twice on the trip. Check it out! And super friendly service.
The staff are really friendly and personable. Service is amazing, and the food is great! My partner is celiac, which they are great with as most of their food is gluten free!
I've eaten at the Dana Eating House 3 times now and it is always a pleasure. I chose it for a team dinner because they food is delish, there's an outdoor area and they're so accommodating with dietaries like Vegan and Coeliac.
HIGHLY recommend!

This place has an extensive menu with multiple options including Mexican (all gluten free) pizza & Korean. It’s all outdoors & undercover with heating provided for the chilly evenings. The food was brought out quickly & was reasonably priced.
I loved the atmosphere & the decor. The food was delicious.
Omg 😍🤩😛 this might be the best breakfast place i have been to. Everything we got was sensational. We had to over eat to try more, having the big breakfast, sweet waffles, soup, and coffees. Literally 10/10 for everything! A MUST when in Hobart.
Free street parking near by. Menu has lots of gluten free and dairy free options and many of the items are fresh from their farm. Just divine - Yum!!!!
We were told they were booked out on a Monday night, but that as a pair we might get a walk in. We did and were not disappointed. Has delicious food with my dumb dietary (Coeliac and allium intolerant). Had clear options including a tasty gf beer (yay!). All food looked and tasted great. Cool Aussie 90s tunes for laid back atmosphere. Very happy. Thank you
Wow, definitely the best avo smash gluten free bread breakfast. GF bread is house made! This is only the half serve option, it’s bigger if you order the full serve. Love the pistachio dukkah. Will be back. Fantastic service too. Very happy. Thank you Dandy Lane.
I went once and they gave me gluten free soy sauce but I came back yesterday and the waitress told me the soy sauce they had on the table was gluten free but it wasn’t.
Today I’m completely sick.
Be careful if you are celiac and you go to eat there. Even if they say it’s gluten free they can make a mistake. I think they have no idea how sick a person can get from eating gluten.
Extraordinarily rude - we came in excited to get some gluten free breakfast and the cashier told us to leave, or get outside and come back in when we knew what we wanted and order - difficult if you’ve never been there before…
There were open tables, but she told us to leave and come back when they were less busy - no wait list, no queue, no way to be called back.
A bit confusing - I guess they were overstretched or maybe they just didn’t want to serve us because we weren’t regulars? Confusing - maybe steer clear unless you’re into abuse.
Let me tell you…..
After a long walk and a trip around Hobart we ended up very hungry and we were very glad to find this superb cafe, we had sandwiches, yummy vegetable soup, hot chips and nice and warm teas. We were attended by two lovely ladies who were very accommodating and very friendly. We were delighted to enjoy gluten free options as 4 of us are coeliacs. Thank you all!!!
Hidden gem! Such a fantastic restaurant - absolutely delicious food perfectly prepared and paired with the perfect wine.
Great for a coeliac too! Very knowledgeable about cross-contamination, and most of the menu is gluten free anyway (although some GFs on the menu would be helpful).
The only reason the atmosphere wasn’t perfect was because there was barely anyone in there, which surely won’t be the case for long because it was SO GOOD! The decor is lovely too, very well done.
We had a standard and a dbl cowboy with fries. Sadly there was misunderstanding to a gluten free question in which we ordered non gluten free despite paying extra for a gf bun.. maybe a bit of guidance would of been nice from the till person. Lovely burger good flavour.
Let me tell you….
There’s nothing better than to start the day with a delicious breakfast!!!!, 4 of us are coeliac but this was not an issue at Harbour Lights Cafe, au contraire!!! There was a range of gluten free options, we ate what we wanted not what we could, the service was very good as well. Thank you all!!!!
I was really looking forward to trying a burger we came here as they do a celiac burger. When we went to order was told they had run out of gluten free buns so i could only have a pattie and salad. Fries weren't gluten free so i ended up buying sushi from across the road and watched everyone else enjoy their burger. Fries were ridiculously small for $6. So disappointed won't bother trying again
I was visiting Hobart for work and I was in the mood for some delicious oysters and seafood. Pearl + Co did not disappoint. On entrance to the venue I was greeted by a very lovely wait staff who was very attentive to my requests. Being gluten intolerant and dairy intolerant, there was a large selection for me to choose from. I started with their delicious oysters in a Pearl mignonette sauce, followed by a cured/raw plate of tuna, octopus and snapper. Everything was so tasty and fresh. I also ordered the side of edamame, broccoli and bok choy salad with a gluten free sauce that was divine. I could have eaten 10 of the side salads alone it was that moorish.
Would highly recommend this venue, with great water views by day and ambient setting at night.
We had a Gluten free base with half garlic prawns and meatlovers. This was the best pizza base I have ever had. It was soft but crunchy enough on the base. It wasn't a hard crunch, just a lovely soft crunch with delicious toppings. Best ever. And we came all the way from Sydney to find it.
Fantastic.
Let me tell you…..
Tonight we wanted pizza and Sangria!!! And we found the best place to overcome our hunger and wishes, the gluten free Calabresse pizza was absolutely delicious, the sangrias were nice and fresh perfect accompaniment, and the service of high standards, we enjoyed our night out in Hobart. Tasmania has the best gluten free food!!! Thank you all!!!
Wine tasting paddle was excellent, showcasing a variety of delicious local wines. Paired well with charcuterie board (gluten free option!) and water views.
Really fun little joint. There's always music playing and delicious food cooking here. I'm a gluten free vegan and there were multiple options for me that were super yummy. Whether you want a snack or a proper meal, are on your own or with mates, this is a funky and fun outdoor destination I would recommend.
So impressed. We went Thursday $14 burger night. Food was excellent. Service really good and friendly. Great music. And some really good Tassie wines. Hope to get back again before we leave Hobart. Oh and gluten free options.
I don't often if ever give 5 stars but we had a lovely meal which included the goat curry, a chicken tikka masala and a mango lassi. These were by far the best meal we have had in Hobart over the last 9 days. The Everest Eatery should update their menu to highlight their gluten free dishes.
Great place for dinner or drinks in Hobart! The bao were delicious, and they can make it coeliac friendly by using lettuce (praying for gf baos one day)
Had a lovely lunch. Staff were friendly and courteous. Restaurant was clean, tidy and toastie warm on a rainy day.
Can certainly recommend the Brick Burger with chips.
Worth a look when you are near Salamanca. Great options for burgers, pizzas and the usual snitzchel and pasta.
Also appeared to have vegetarian, gluten free and vegan options.
was served chunky, off cream on the pancakes, was absolutely rancid. service was sub-par. my partner is coeliac and requested baking paper to protect their toasted sandwich but we were told “we don’t do that here”
