Service is friendly, loads of GF options. GF food fried separately. I'm coeliac and ordered a few times here and no issues. Highly recommend this chippy.
Yeah just lovely, I had the slow beef brisket sandwich, my partner who is coeliac had the frittata.
We sat outside, the staff were lovely. All around positive.
We were in the neighborhood doing some shopping and one of the shoppes mentioned Côte. It was nearby and we walked in during a busy lunch time. The accommodated us very nicely considering we didn’t have a reservation. I adore French food but never get to go when dining with my daughter who is gluten and dairy free. However, they had so many items to choose from for her. The food was outstanding!!! Cannot wait to go back.
The food is incredible, you can tell they are Italian. They have gluten-free pasta options although there isn't much to choose from. It comes in a VERY small quantity for the price, but it is very very delicious for a treat-meal.
Very nice food! I apprechiate that the menu is marked with what is gluten free. Had the chicken skewers, very big portion and everything was tasty. I am a sensitive celiac, had no ill effects after the meal.
This is the go to place for gluten free. Best food and desserts by far and amazing flavours. No fear of missing out you can eat it all. Highly recommend ordering a couple different dishes and sharing. Also the lions mane was a first and would eat again. Best GFDF dessert I’ve had in years!

Lots of vegan, vegetarian, gluten free options marked in the menu. There were 4 people waiting for tables when we arrived, and we still were seated in 5mins. Pizza and salad combo makes a perfect light meal. Salad was as basic as it gets, but fine. Pizza was better than I expected - thin crust, well dressed.
Loved this place. It was a rainy morning and we popped in for breakfast. The dining space is light and airy. The staff were friendly and attentive. The food was prompt and hot. Coffee was tasty. Would go back tomorrow if we were still in town.
Photos are of the Porty Smash and Poached Eggs on Toast with crispy bacon.
Gluten free bread option available with really decent sized slices of GF bread, which made a nice change.
All celiac. Food was fabulous. Had chicken and paneer pakora with mint, Punjabi, and mango chilli sauce. Also lentil coriander dhal with rice and chips and cheese. For 3 of us had next day leftovers. Matthew took great care of us.
Great service from Zane! My boyfriend has Celiacs disease and had no problem ordering food from the menu. Gluten free beer made the visit amazing as well, and the food was fantastic!

Our server Elizabeth was great at understanding my daughter needed gluten free. Service from all staff was great, food arrived quickly and was very good. Would definitely recommend and next time we are in Edinburgh would go back.
Used Vittoria many times over the years in both locations. Enjoyed it every time but sadly today was well below previous standards.
We asked about gluten free for the starters as there was gluten free bread available and a quite a few of the starters were something with garlic bread so could they swap it. Told no the chef would t cut a slice just for that. Really poor standard. Why offer pizza and pasta gluten free mains but do nothing for starters and also dessert. You’ll find it’s either sorbet or gelato.
Meatball starter I was excited for but instead of the one large Polpette you used to get it was four small very average meatballs.
One main course was good the seafood tagliatelle is recommend that, the rucola salad side was a bit tiny for the price.
The other main course chicken and spinach risotto was another very average dish. This was a go to in the past and was much better on previous visits.
The raspberry sorbet dessert was nice after we had to remind them it was to come with a berry compote which they corrected to be fair.
Overall sadly very average for what used to be a highlight for Edinburgh.
Very tasty food, also a special menu for gluten-free dishes. The friendly staff pointed out possible cross-contamination due to the small kitchen. Highly recommended.
Having been here twice now, I can say that this is one of the nicest cafés in Edinburgh! The food was absolutely delicious, and I love that there's gluten free and vegan options available! I will definitely be back here again :)

Adapted gluten-free breakfasts, without contamination. They give you gluten-free bread if you want and the menu says what does NOT contain gluten. Celiacs, you can have breakfast in peace, my celiac wife was not contaminated.
Delicious, flavorful pizza!
I found you on Find Me Glutenfree.
Thank you for the careful preparation!
We were happy to have the outdoor seating – even if it was a bit chilly in the shade...
It's so nice to be able to eat out spontaneously with celiac disease without making a reservation. Thank you so much!!!🫶🏻
Yummy lentil and lime soup. Vegan and gluten free! Took it to go since they were about to close and found a spot up the street to enjoy, Middle Meadow Walk.

I went for the unlimited tapas last night and I explicitly said multiple times that I’m allergic to gluten and they fed me 3 gluten tacos. In which I had to go hospital after the dinner. - they still charged me for the meal.
Great location, great food, great service.
Simple recipe for 5 stars. They were helpful about letting us know about gluten free items.
I had the Croque Madame. Wow for such a simple dish it was absolutely lovely.
Coffee + Food for myself and my partner was around £18/19.50
I initially was recommended a “small family-run” cafe to visit, but without a name, I was left guessing which of the hundreds of cafe in Edinburgh it was.
Regardless, I went in out of curiosity. Upon walking down the stairs and entering the venue, a warmth of comfort engulfed me. Both from the atmosphere and the people serving.
For the two times I was there, I got a dish and a drink. The homemade hot chocolate was definitely the one that stood out the most. Just absolutely rich in flavour. Their carrot and cumin soup was also splendid alongside their bread. Definitely a can’t miss when it’s the soup of the day alongside one of the sandwiches.
Definitely a lot of variety of dishes and I appreciate the dietary customisation options such as gluten-free and diary-free alternatives. Decent variety of vegetarian options. I did take notice that a lot of options had avocados. I guess that’s a pretty popular ingredient.
We were about to visit the nearby Make Believe and had to feed our babies somewhere, as unfortunately the other place doesn’t allow bringing baby food in. Thank you very much to the lovely staff at the Painted Rooster who provided us with two high chairs, took our order at the table and were very understanding with some baby food ending up underneath the table 🙈 We only had some drinks as unfortunately there weren’t many cakes that would be both gluten and dairy free but we would love to come again and try more dishes properly! Matcha latte with oat milk was decent.
Good was fantastic. Really nicely done and authentic Spanish tapas. Great selection of wine. A dedicated menu for gluten, dairy and other intolerances. Lovely and attentive staff.
Had a wonderful evening here, would definitely recommend and would visit again for sure.
Great food and brilliant atmosphere. Leo, our waiter, was very attentive to our gluten free needs, even creating a gluten free alternative starter for us. Fantastic experience.
Freshly prepared tasty food, gluten free, dairy free and vegan option. Good choice of non-alcoholic drinks including a lovely iced matcha, home made sodas in various flavours, hot chocolate and the usual coffee drinks
good drinks, good service. unfortunately nothing gluten free AND vegan on the menu!
still have as many stars because their service was impeccable and their knowledge on allergies was great!
Went here on the afternoon I got engaged for a little meal & glass of champagne. The service was great, tables are spacious, seats are comfortable.
Fiancé & I shared the fish & chips. They were made gluten free for my gluten free dietary restriction (celiacs disease) and was the best fish & chips I had in Edinburgh while I was visiting.
The crust was light and the sauce provided was also tasty. The chips were nothing super special but tasted pretty good as a compliment to the fish.
Thanks for adding to my special engagement day, catering to my allergy, and I would recommend this restaurant to everyone in the area!
Wow, this place was just amazing. We spent 2.5 weeks in Scotland and this was probably our favorite restaurant/meal of the trip. Food and cocktails were amazing. I can’t have gluten and even their meals with no gluten ingredients were fantastic. Wish we had time to go back a second time.
We stopped here right after landing. The food is excellent, and they have several gluten free options. They have gluten free bread and buns. We enjoyed it so much that we came back for breakfast the next day.
Pictured is the G.O.A.T. and Ham & cheese savoury crêpes. We were walking around Edinburgh and were looking for a last minute breakfast spot that offered gluten free options. Staff was very friendly and the crepes were yummy.
Our meal at The Little Chartroom was absolutely out of this world! The service was delightful, the food was totally incredible, the cocktails elegant and smooth, and we were totally comfortable and relaxed. I have celiac disease and they accommodated me beautifully and I had no issues status-post. I was grateful. I would, without hesitation, recommend The Little Chartroom for any foodie visiting Edinburg.
