AMAZING! Great food, wonderful atmosphere, friendly and superbly knowledgeable about dietary requirements! Two coeliac diners!
Our server, Tanya, was knowledgeable, friendly, pleasantly interactive and catered superbly to our two coeliac diners as well as accommodating a small appetite of our elderly dad.
The food was superb, peppercorn sauce on the GF steak and the sauce with the seabass are off the scale. The smash burger went down a treat and the addition of the Baileys to the ice cream was quite luxurious!
Wish there was one closer but will definitely be back!
The decor and ambiance suited us well and, with one partially deaf diner, the atmosphere was perfect.
Amazing gluten free options. Fast service and the staff are happy to answer questions about allergens that are in the food. Very impressed and now our favourite place to order food from.
can’t believe how flavourful they made just chicken and rice! high praise for vegetable gyoza from my friend too and it was great to see lots of gluten free options available! definitely would come again, the courtyard seating is lovely in the sun and the staff were friendly.

You have been amazing!
We visited York for a day trip as a family and, just like in other cities we’ve been to, we decided to go with Côte — and once again, it did not disappoint.
If you ask me, the starters might be the weakest part of the meal — and I say that only because the mains and especially the desserts are so good that they outshine the rest. Still, everything we had was enjoyable.
We had noted during our reservation that one of us has coeliac disease, and without even having to mention it when we sat down, they brought over a gluten-free menu. Huge thanks to the team for being so considerate and attentive.
For starters, we went with the Camembert Brûlée and Calamari. As mains, we had the Confit Duck à l’Orange and Poulet Breton (corn-fed roasted half chicken) — both of which you can see in the photos. The gratin dauphinois served with the duck takes the whole dish to another level, and the duck itself was cooked to absolute perfection.
On the side, I opted for the Green Salad, which might sound simple, but it’s incredibly tasty — the mustard vinaigrette deserves its own shoutout. Highly recommend trying it.
For dessert, we chose the Lemongrass & Lime Leaf Crème Brûlée, Crème Caramel Classique, and Chocolate Mousse. Everything except the Crème Brûlée was an instant hit with us. While it was beautifully made in theory, the flavor combination just wasn’t to our taste.
Côte once again nailed it. Fingers crossed the Manchester branch reopens soon so we don’t have to travel cities just to enjoy these amazing dishes!
Served by Emin today. Super attentive and friendly service. Great food options for gluten free, vegan, veggie and meat eaters. Cocktails are delicious. 5 stars.
Has a separate gluten free menu with items clearly labelled as being on set menu. Good set up in this regard. I really enjoyed my meal, but found the servings somewhat inconsistent. 3 of us had the beef rump, and all were different sizes and cooked differently, meaning some of my party did not enjoy their meals as much. Good cocktails and starters/desserts were nice. Waiting staff very accommodating.
We organized a Christmas dinner at Ceasars with my students, an international group from different countries, over the weekend, and it was absolutely fantastic! Although the restaurant was quite busy, and the staff took great care of us.
Among my students, there were those with gluten-free and vegan dietary requirements, and every single order was prepared and served with such care, precision, and efficiency. I want to extend my special thanks to the staff for their outstanding service despite the crowd.
The food was simply amazing! Everyone was delighted. Ceasars is undoubtedly the go-to place in York for delicious pizza and pasta varieties. And the homemade tiramisu? Absolutely perfect!
Ceasars will definitely be our first choice for future events.
Thank you!
Oh my! Found this as a new place to go and we will defo be back! What a cute cosey spot, and the food! Oh my the food was amazing!! Excellent for catering for Vegan, Vegetarian and Gluten prefrences! Amazing value for money, fantastic service especially by Ellie and the other 2 that served us 😀 great knowledge on the dietry requirements for my meal from Scott 😀 Thursday night deal was such value for money! Happy Date night! Thankyou😁
Amazing service, great food and good location. Excellent catering for gluten free eaters and highly recommend the loaded fries. Would highly recommend.
Love Burgsy's! Our go to for amazing Burgers! Great service, intimate dining. GLUTEN FREE BUNS!! (That taste so good!) I promise you will love it! (Frequent visitor to York from down south)
BEST BREAKFAST EVER! I am gluten free and vegetarian which is really difficult to cater for usually but Partisan absolutely smashed it! I had the most delicious breakfast full of flavour and bought a cake (from a choice of three GF options) on my way out! 😍 they also accommodated our booking for a group of 9 which was ideal!
absolutely sensational! Got off the train after an extremely long day and headed over for a snack, extremely friendly welcome 🤗 could do everything on the menu with a gluten free version and their garlic sauce is to DIE FOR!
Stayed one night on way home from Scotland.
Room was comfortable with lovely appointed ensure.
Ate evening meal and they were very accommodating for my gluten free requirements with most dishes being able to modify.
Breakfast was excellent with even gluten free black pudding!
Beautiful terrace overlooking the river which was a great spot for an excellent roast on a Sunday. First gluten free yorkshire pudding our coeliac has ever had as well!
I was looking for somewhere close to the Barbican as we were attending a show there and didn’t want to drive home in potentially poor weather in December.
I knew the Rose and Crown was close and had a quick look at reviews; I was won over very quickly by glowing reviews of both the accommodation and the food.
I loved everything about the Rose and Crown - big room with a spacious en-suite, lovely fluffy towels, lots of easily accessible sockets, ample tea and coffee supplies and a very comfortable bed.
The food was delicious with gluten free and vegan options. I had a difficult time deciding what to eat; I opted for a cheeseburger with gluten free bread, but the leek and celeriac pie with a jug of cheese sauce was very tempting.
The burger came with the Rose and Crown signature chips ( the size of fishfingers!)
Breakfast was also delicious and included in the price of the night’s stay.
There was a good selection of cereals, fruit and yoghurt in addition to the cooked options. Tea, coffee and 3 fruit juices were also available.
I opted for a full English breakfast with gluten free toast; it was so big I couldn’t manage it all, orange juice and a pot of tea.
The staff were all lovely; Christopher is a great host.
14th December York really really busy, we dropped in on the off chance, no reservation the restaurant was really busy, the staff were amazing against all the odds found us a table ,
The menu was amazing, vegetarian, pescatarian gluten free and vegan, all our requirements were met in full , the team were attentive informative but not intrusive.
Nothing was a problem.the food was full of flavour and the best fresh ingredients.
We would highly recommend this restaurant for its atmosphere it’s menu and it’s staff and the costs are on point
We will be back
Thankyou
The shared platter was delicious and just right for one person on their own.
Staff are fantastic, friendly and really helpful as one of our party are gluten intolerant and they were very thorough with helping select a meal.
Puddings and coffee are first class too.
A fab pub in York! Lovely settings, friendly and helpful staff, tasty food and generous portion sizes! Also a great selection of gluten free beers (and the food all clearly marked GF). Would deffo recommend!
Staff were great, accommodated a party of 6, always busy and buzzing. They accommodate gluten free which is great (bake their own bread) - no hash browns unfortunately which is a little strange for a classic brunch spot. Don't expect anything flash, just good honest grub.
Very good gluten free options on all menus. We were staying at the hotel so had a breakfast as well as dinner. The food was excellent and they were able to cater very well to my gluten free diet.
We visited the three cups yesterday and I was impressed, the staff went out of there way to accommodate my requirements, being gluten free they made sure that my needs were met without any fuss, the staff didn't make me feel I was being a pain, food was lovely and the pub has a lovely atmosphere. A+ 😊
Won’t answer the phone at all, just hang up on us 10 times. We ordered a take away and can’t eat anchovies or cows cheese so we rang to edit the order and no one answered. Customer services can’t ring through for you and the app does not allow you to customise your order unless it’s ’vegan Or gluten free’. Very disappointing. We’re loyal customers and we’re just giving up on pizza express now as it’s such a ballache place to order in or from if you can’t eat certain foods … we’ve now spent over £40 on an order we can’t eat (and can’t cancel) because their website advises contacting the branch you order from after an order is placed and not before! Cheers guys !
Wonderful! Maria was amazing and handled all our dietary requirements so well. Delicious roast, large portion size, lovely atmosphere. I highly recommend! One of the best roasts in York, and definitely THE best if you're gluten free! Thank you so much.
Really lovely little cafe. Excellently prepared food and sweet treats, including gluten free. Good coffee (I had a long black). And the service is really great.
We were 4 walkers on the Yorkshire Wolds Way and ate dinner here after a day’s walking. We all loved the food as well as the friendly and helpful service. Gluten free options were readily available.
Suited all our party, nut allergies, gluten intolerances, meat eaters and veggie preference. Sweets looked nice too but I didn't have room - too stuffed
What can I say? Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff, incredible food with an exciting menu and huge portions and a reasonable price.Felt safe ordering GF food as staff very knowledgeable about cross contamination and there is a dedicated gluten free fryer and a separate gluten free menu. We ended up eating there three times during our stay in York and we will DEFINITELY be back!
Second time having an amazing afternoon tea delivered from Love to eat. The gluten free option is just as delicious and so much effort to give a variety of bread and cakes which is rare!
Lovely people to deal with , highly recommend
The customer service and food at this place are second to none, I love the whole vibe and what they are trying to achieve. If you want quality at a reasonable price this is the place. Oh and they do great gluten free options.
Great food & always cater to gluten free needs. The bits and bobs board was insane also the pork belly sandwich with gluten free bread. Been coming for over 10 years.
We booked a table for 12 at the Masons Arms as part of a trip to York. I can say it was one of the best decisions we made on our Easter break away. The staff are welcoming, the pub is atmospheric (proper old northen inn), and the food is filling, tasty, and extremely reasonably priced. Most of our party took advantage of the Sunday roast deal. Choose from three meats, chicken, pork, or beef. Served with seasonal veg, a massive Yorkshire pudding and lashings of gravy. There are also extremely good gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options on the menu for all courses.
Stopped on route to Scarborough and what an amazing breakfast. Best Gluten Free breakfast I have had in 10 years! Takes me back to being a child and stopping on the annual trip to Scarborough. You have to stop here. Excellent 👌
Fantastic food here. As I'm gluten intolerant, it's not always easy to find really nice food when out and about. To be able to have gluten-free garlic bread and a lasagne was great. Thoroughly enjoyed it and would highly recommend.
They do great gluten free options for coeliacs.
Two amazing things I tried:
CONFIT DUCK LEG
Served with a chorizo, bubble & squeak potato hash & a smoked paprika gravy.
SLOW ROASTED BELLY PORK
Stuffed with apricot & sausage meat, served with cider braised red cabbage, rosemary & garlic sautéed potatoes & a smoked bacon cream sauce.
