The Goods never disappoints! We went on a Saturday on a holiday weekend afternoon and I was worried they would be sold out. They still had a great selection and everything was super fresh and delicious! Best gluten free donuts.
If you are visiting carlsbad beach/village, this place deserves a visit. Their freshly made crust cooked to perfection per your requirements alone demands a visit. We ordered a thin crust crispy veg pizza and slices of pepperoni pizza. Really delicious garlic knots and a calzone is a must when you visit this place. You can customise the calzones. We ordered mozzarella and ricotta calzone. It was devoured in a blink of an eye. Also, great gluten free options and lots of beers to pick from. The only thing you have to make sure is that try not to visit this place over the weekends as it gets really crowded and has very limited seating options. There is no upfront parking. Wouldn’t call this place wheelchair friendly either. You might need to park a couple of blocks away or find a paid parking.
Gregorio's is an absolute gem! From the moment we walked in, the cozy Italian villa ambiance set the perfect tone for a memorable evening. We visited on a Saturday night without a reservation and were pleasantly surprised to be seated immediately!
The handmade pizzas were a hit at our table — absolutely delicious — and the gluten-free pasta was hands down one of the best I've ever had. My husband loved the gnocchi. Everyone was raving about their meals!
Our server was an absolute queen — charismatic, attentive, and made our night so much fun. She truly elevated the whole experience. The wine selection was fantastic as well, perfectly complementing the flavorful dishes.
If you're craving authentic Italian cuisine with great vibes and exceptional service, Gregorio's is the place to go! Can't wait to return.
We went to Sushi Taisho for dinner last night, and it was such a great experience! We shared a nice bottle of sake, ordered multiple rolls, and even got individual hand rolls—which were generously portioned and delicious. One of our friends needed gluten-free options, and they had plenty available, which was great.
The service was excellent—super friendly and welcoming. The restaurant itself is really cute and cozy, with a warm atmosphere. It’s located upstairs in Carlsbad, so there’s a nice little view of the area, and you can even see the train coming in. Plus, you can hear live music from downstairs, which adds to the fun vibe.
The seafood was super fresh, the space was clean, and everything we tried was fantastic. We went as a group of four, got seated without a problem, and had a great time splitting different rolls and trying new things. Definitely a highly recommended spot!
Went for dinner and this place was hoppin'. The wait without a reservation is very long, so try to get one. Otherwise, plan to maneuver your way into the open bar seating, which is what we thoroughly enjoyed. The restaurant concept is fun and well carried throughout. The food and drinks were awesome and there are plenty of gluten free options. The staff was very helpful to guide us through the menu to avoid any gluten issues.
264 Fresco is an absolute gem! We had the pleasure of sitting upstairs on the deck, and the views of the ocean were simply breathtaking. The ambiance was perfect—elegant, bright, and inviting, with a mix of stylish and homey accents that made us feel right at home. The service was impeccable, with the staff being attentive and knowledgeable in gluten free options, making our experience even more special.
The food was outstanding! As an Italian restaurant, Fresco 264 truly knows how to deliver. The wood-fired dishes were bursting with flavor! We also had a fantastic selection of appetizers, try the beef carpaccio and the meatballs! The drinks were on point, with a great variety of options to choose from.
Whether you're looking for a cozy night out or a special occasion, Fresco 264 is the place to go. A note for families, the deck is always 21+ highly recommend!
very cool hang out for tacos and more. We went there for a late lunch, but the bar and patio seating screams the kind of place you want hang out for a bit. We each had a taco and split a salad. sooo good. certain I'll stop by again before leaving town. Bonus - VERY fresh handmade corn tortillas, and they even took precautions to reduce likelihood of cross contamination for my gluten free meal. super friendly and casual. try it, you won't be sorry.
I ordered a Barrel Burger Togo on a whim. This burger was really good! It was hot, fresh, and juicy. I didn't sit inside but the place is hip, has taps and non alcholic taps as well. They have gluten free buns available as well. The server was really nice and did her job well. I will definitely be back. I normally provide a photo of the food but this one was so good and was eaten immediately!
"Wow, just wow. We went to Vigilucci's while we were visiting family, and it was an amazing dining experience. From the moment we walked, the ambience was elevated.
The food? Forget about it. I had the risotto, which is gluten free, and it was clear it was homemade – like, seriously delicious. My son went for a steak, and it came out very undercooked so we unfortunately had to send it back. My husband had the sea scallops and raved about it all night.
The view? Wow again. We timed it perfectly for sunset, and watching the sun dip into the ocean while we ate was just magical.
It wasn't stuffy or anything, even though it's clearly a fancy place. It just felt…comfortable and celebratory. You can tell they really care about the little things, like how the table was set and how attentive our server was.
I also heard they're adding a new patio next year with even better ocean views, as if it could get any better. If you're looking for a place to make a special memory, or just want an amazing meal with a killer view, you HAVE to try Vigilucci's!
This is one of my favorite restaurants (this location AND the Hillcrest one, too!) The employees are great and the food is better than most similar places closer to my home. There are things on the menu that I haven't found anywhere else in the county. Even the non-spicy items have rich and complex flavors that keep me coming back... and bringing visitors to my home with me! Solid recommendation.
They have a good vegetarian and Gluten-free selection. You have to be a little more careful to be dairy-free, but everyone here is very familiar with the menu and will answer any questions you have before you order.
It was our first time eating here and we sat at the bar. There was a graduation party going on and live music inside. The music was good, but a little loud inside for how small the restaurant was. It took forever for us to be greeted or asked for drinks at the bar. They weren’t busy either. We waited a good 15 minutes before we ordered our drinks. We knew what we wanted to eat by that time, so we ordered food as well. When our food finally came out, my order was wrong. I have a gluten sensitivity and ordered GF pasta. The pasta came out and I knew right away it wasn’t GF. It took a few minutes to get the bartenders attention. I ended up grabbing someone else to ask for them to fix my order. It came out and my husband was halfway done with his meal at that point. The food was good, tho. We asked for our check and weren’t even compensated for the wrong meal. Can’t say I was impressed with the service. Not sure if we will be back.
They catered our super informal wedding rehearsal dinner and did NOT disappoint. Guests of all ages and socioeconomic status were happy and asking us to tell them more about Board n Brew. They also made sandwiches happen for our gluten free and vegan guests. We already go frequently and the positive experience made us likely to rave about them and go even more. Thanks B&B!!
Delicious pastas and wine pairings recommended by Diego. Looking
forward to a large family birthday celebration later in the month, no one will be disappointed. They also offer gluten free dishes and will with you on making sure everything is satisfactory. A separate kids' menu should satisfy the little ones as well.
My husbands work rented out the entire restaurant for their holiday party and it was amazing! The drinks are super fancy with major mixology vibes. I had a spicy margarita with Tajin on the rim and it was delightful. There is a tie between my 2 favorite things about this restaurant and that's the food and the service. I have a pretty restrictive diet which requires no gluten and no dairy and it's hard to eat out. The person in charge of the food was sooo awesome, I wish I could remember her name because she made me feel so taken care of!! They made me the yummiest Flatbread that was gluten and dairy free and even tomato sauce free, which is another restriction I have. It was soooo good! With chicken and artichokes and olive oil. I also had short rib and they brought me out a bowl of yummy gluten free bread with hummus. I waa in heaven and very well fed that night. I will definitely be back soon!
We love BOGO burger Tuesdays for lunch. It's a great deal for two people. The burgers are always hot and tasty and my wife says their gluten free bun is the best...and she has tried many. They are willing to accommodate my frequent request to get a side salad instead of fries...when I am being "good". The vinaigrette dressing is surprisingly tasty. The lunch atmosphere is reasonably quiet so we can easily converse. Sports are typically playing on the TVs so you can catch some action if interested, but it's not obtrusive.
SKC is a nice place to stop for breakfast if you have your dogs with you and are looking for a gluten-free meal.
Our short rib and hashbrown cakes was very good, perfectly flavored on the mild-side, and a filling portion to enjoy.
Our Monterey omelet was missing something, we cannot figure out what should be added or left out. The bacon was great, but we lost the rest of the flavoring.
The food was great. BUT this review is about the service.
I have never in my life experienced better service at a restaurant than I did here.
We came very close to closing time and they still seated us. I am gluten intolerant and the waitress was far more knowledgeable about their gluten free options than any other place I've ever been to. She even brought me gluten free soy sauce without me even asking if they had it.
If you are celiac or gluten intolerant, you can be sure you will be safe eating here. They know their menu and care about the health of their customers and it shows.
Thankyou
Great location, my family had been coming here upon arrival in Carlsbad for 18 years. But this was the first time they wouldn't allow a dietary restricted adult to order a kids meals. Asked for the manager to see if we could have an exception no one came out. Waitress was rude about it, a very noticeable eye roll was given to me when i asked to substitute an item to a gluten free item. Finally a nice gentleman with a cute accent helped me get some food. But the rest of the crew on a Sunday night was horriable and didnt care about helping. It's sad to not get the customer service we've had for the last 10+ years. DO NOT GO IF YOU NEED ANYTHING SPECIAL, not a gluten free friendly place or staff
Unassuming crepe and fro-yo shop...had been in a few times and didn't realize we were missing out! We had a vegan and gluten free Nutella, blueberry and lemon crepe and planned to take it to go but "had a bite first" and ended up eating the whole thing!
Nice little cafe on a corner, with gluten free pastry options!
The staff was very friendly, I had the gluten free almond cake, which was pretty good!
Don’t miss this cute cafe when visiting Carlsbad
We ordered lunch at the Trap Shack during a recent visit to Carlsbad. We ordered the West Coast Lobster Roll and a lobster roll sans bun because of a gluten-free need for one person.
Opening time was 11 am, but they actually opened at about 11:15 am. We ordered and the items were made promptly. The West Coast Lobster Roll was quite good with large chunks of lobster claw and knuckle meat. This was a very pleasant surprise. For the gluten-free version, the portion sizes given in the cups were quite small even though we paid the price of a regular roll. They could be more generous in their serving sizes.
The staff were friendly, if very laid back, which is fine. They understood the need for a gluten-free choice. It would be great if they could add a couple of gluten-free items to the menu.

What a find this place is! The cocktail program is spectacular, extremely unique and well balanced original cocktails coupled with excellent classics.
Food is also really tasty and unique with thai inspired dishes.
As if Same Same wasn't great enough, they have gluten free dishes and clearly someone is aware of cross contamination in that kitchen, because I have celiac and woke up feeling great which is kind of rare. So BRAVO Same Same. Your staff was amazingly knowledgeable, friendly and entertaining as well. The decor is also awesome.
My husband and I cannot wait to come back and try the whole menu.
Honestly just a gem.
My husband and I used to drive down to SD for good ramen. Under Belly, Tajim, Menya Ultra- but Gonzo! genuinely beats them all and it’s so much closer to us.
We’ve been coming here since they opened and bring all of our loved ones when they visit because it’s a no brainer. The owner and his kids are friendly and the vibe is just so cool.
Parking can be a pain but you should know what you’re in for in DT Carlsbad.
Black garlic tonkotsu with the gluten free ramen is my go to. Don’t forget the karaage!
It’s pretty good food served by fantastic staff in nice enough decor. I have celiacs, which they’re—surprisingly for a mexican place—extremely ill equipped to handle, but the server was quite knowledgeable about how each item was prepared, and ultimately the chef was willing l to whip something up for me. Plating was also quite attractive. The only downside was price. It was maybe $30-35 a person for food that I would be eager to pay maybe $20 a person for.
