STIL was delicious! To have vegan and gluten free options as a majority was a nice change up from the normal. We ordered “Cookies with Grandma” (gf and vegan) which was delicious coconut with cookie pieces and “Nightcap on Eckert” which was a for those 21+ as it’s an espresso ice cream featuring cake and heath bar pieces, and is infused with kahlua. We will be back!
For a place that has Fry in the name I expected the fries to be stellar. I was excited because they are gluten free and finding celiac safe fries is tough. Well these fries missed the mark. Over cooked, cold fries. Worst I've ever had to be honest. I am only giving 3 stars for having gluten free options that are edible but not awesome tasting. Burger was bland, sauces were bland, and the burger patty was significantly smaller than the gluten free bun (first time that's ever happened). My first bite was a mouthful of bun with no meat.
You walk in and there are trays full of already fried fries behind the counter. I am 99% sure they just grab from the trays that are not sitting under a warmer and plate them. No way they were reheated at all. Also brings into concern some food safety issues. How long do they sit there? Idk, better off going to Red Robin or 5Guys if celiac and wanting fries.
Service and food was great. Cesar salad and Greek salad were good and portions were big enough for 2 people to share. The gluten free crust is not a pre-packaged crust. The 18” pizza was enough for 3 hungry people with some leftover.
I’m disappointed that the bacon burger couldn’t be made gluten free because of cross contamination on the griddle. While I appreciate the acknowledgment of celiac disease, I’m concerned about their ability to truly prepare gluten-free food.
Absolutely delicious, love all the gluten free options, I had mine extra saucy and it was amazing. It was also filling, I only ate about half before I was full! Highly recommend!
If you have celiac and want fast food this is a safe bet. Just tell them when you order and they'll separate your tortillas and they'll even fry your shrimp in a separate pan!
I have a Paddles Up Poke problem...I love it. The Bogus Basin is my personal favorite. As a celiac there are not many restaurants I can trust to serve me safe food, but Paddles Up fully understands celiac needs and customizes my choices appropriately. Quality ingredients, tasty, prompt, filling...just what you want when you're hungry.
I appreciated the awareness of celiac disease and gluten free items. However, due to cross contamination from a single fryer, most items are not actually gluten free. It’s definitely best to ask questions. The AL Pastor tacos were excellent, although the excessive chunky raw white onion might not be everyone’s cup of tea.
I don't recommend this place for exciting Gluten free options. Unfortunately the waffle they have is not very tasty and unless you willing to pay significantly more for an attempt at remaking the waffles advertised for regular waffles it's just not worth it. The server was kind however my waffle was cold. Beautiful atmosphere, it just doesn't meet expectations.
I’ve been coming here on a regular basis for the last five years and it’s always good. Thank you for all of the wonderful gluten free and vegan options.
Celiacs, this place is safe! Some great gluten free food. Didn't get sick. Their online ordering has a button for gluten allergies, dairy allergies, etc. Chips aren't safe but the salsa was amazing.
Called ahead to say we were celebrating an anniversary, as well as we have a celiac. We were told that the most expensive menu choice was our only option! $38.95 compared to the average $13.95. The steak option was also only gluten free with nothing but a steak! No sides or a server willing to help us enjoy our dinner.
I went out on a limb and picked this Boise staple and lost at every point. Sad to say we will never go back!
Loved our visit! Had a great table and good food with a larger group! Patio windows open and got an elevated dish for a brewery that was delicious. Beet salad with whipped goat cheese! Pizza and sweet potato fries were awesome as well!
Great place to try huckleberry seltzer and gluten free options!
Incredible experience!! We were visiting from Salt Lake City and we were blown away by their sushi/nigiri. The all you can eat option was great and we were able to order appetizers, nigiri and rolls. Gluten free friendly! They had tamari sauce and made note of my celiac disease to ensure no issues.
Great selection of sake and -196 seltzers! Can’t wait to go back.
Super nice guy and gal working. They were super friendly and helpful when I told them I had an order with a gluten allergy. They didn’t make me feel bad or guilty to take a few extra steps so my child could have a safe lunch.
Ordered a kids pizza and GF pizza because I have another child with celiac (wheat allergies.) They were awesome with making the GF. New gloves, new sauce, and new tray. Unfortunately when they cooked the pizza they took it off the metal tray so it made the pizza cross contamination so my GF child couldn’t eat it. The rest of us tried to eat it but it was discussing and was under cooked. Blaze does a lot better job to keep it GF.
I planned to trip to the city and need a place to accommodate both my wife and I desire for a good quality meal and the safety of a place that knows how to prepare things for people with food allergies like my son.
I made an inquiry to the website about their handling of gluten free and dairy free items. The general manager wrote back within minutes, providing an outline of how they approach safely, providing their food, and offering us the opportunity to make a reservation.
We arrived at the time reserved and service was prompt, welcoming, and made us at ease.
The food was spectacular. American fare is American fare is American fare, right? Wrong. The wings were executed flawlessly. Fries served thinner but not quite into pomme frittes delicacy, in a way that's well suited the truffle cheese upgrade.
The sauces, rubs, and garnishes are the subtle touches that make "typical American fare," anything but typical.
Service was excellent. Food very average.. didn’t match up with the experience the restaurant was trying to achieve.
The best dish was the rhubarb tart with oat milk .
(1) Gluten-free bread- was hard
(2) Crab & artichoke - Yummy
3) soup - sour & peppery. Average taste but pretty
4) Monk-fish : nice presentation but tasteless.. the sesame caviar wasn’t salty at all thus didn’t help to bring any taste to the monk fish
5) Pork - overcooked thus dry & very salty
6) Rhubarb tart - best
Warm towels at the end … nice gesture... note to restaurant .. perhaps use tongs to place the towels on plates instead of hands
I love all three of these places. I have noticed kind of rude staff lately though. To be fair they are pretty busy. They have yummy wheat free items, but I think a celiac person probably shouldn’t eat them as they are not prepared in a dedicated gluten free environment I was told.
Just had the BEST espresso martini of my life at Acero Boards & Bottles in Boise! Huge shoutout to Taylor for absolutely nailing the perfect pour—smooth, bold, and exactly what I needed. Alejandro the chef even offered to make me something special, and I really appreciated the personal touch.
Bonus: they’ve got solid gluten-free options, which makes this spot even more of a win. Highly recommend if you’re looking for great drinks, great vibes, and seriously thoughtful service. 🙌🍸
"I recently had breakfast here and found it to be a clean and welcoming spot, with a particularly friendly face at the front counter. However, while the service and atmosphere were positive, the food presentation left something to be desired. I ordered the breakfast burrito, which, at a price point of $12-14, arrived on a plate with only salsa. While the flavor was adequate, I couldn't help but feel a side of fruit or even a small garnish would have greatly improved the overall experience and value. My wife's gluten-free avocado toast, though tasty, also seemed to lack the visual appeal and extra touches that elevate similar dishes at other establishments.
In a competitive breakfast market, presentation and perceived value are crucial. While the core flavors were there, the simplicity of the plating made the dishes feel somewhat overpriced. The cleanliness and friendly service are definite positives, and I believe with some attention to improving the visual appeal of the food and perhaps offering sides to enhance the meal, a cafe could truly shine. There's potential here, but the food needs to match the high standards set by the service and cleanliness to make it a truly winning combination."
Lovely lunch spot, feels like you're in an Italian deli. All of the food is fresh, gourmet-quality, so many options for gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan, etc... Fantastic place for lunch, European gifts, prepared meals to bring home for later. Literally our favorite deli!
I'm not much for fast food, but damn I LOVE Fanci Freeze. Always fast, always friendly, always just what Im craving. Highlights are the milk shakes, gluten free bun and, much thanks to our wonderful server tonight, (shout out to Cora!), PUP CUP! Something for the whole fam.
This is a cool spot with different places to choose variety of foods to enjoy. I like that most of them had gluten free options and the two I ate at were accommodating to my dietary needs. Yes it can be expensive but what isn’t lately eating out. The food was tasty. It can get nosey but it is open seating and plenty of it. Everyone I encountered was polite and friendly.
I've been eating 😋 at Yen Ching's since the late 1980s when it opened. It's my go-to Chinese restaurant.
Tonight, we took our son-in-law and his children for his birthday dinner. The 8 year old loved his orange chicken and the 18 year enjoyed their steamed barbecue pork buns (Dim Sum) and chilled lichee. Our son-in-law loved the shrimp fried rice so much that he took home an additional order. The rest of us also enjoyed our choices.
My favorite part was the menu clearly marked "gluten-free" and "spicy."
The restaurant was clean and attractively decorated. The staff were friendly and efficient. The manager made himself obvious and available.
Be sure to check the time you want to earas the restaurant closes for a break between their lunch and dinner serving times.
We went just after 5 pm. We had no issues finding paid (metered) parking. We also got seated immediately at a table screened off from most other diners. They do take reservations for later times.
Come enjoy Yen Ching's hospitality.
Soooo upset I just wasted $55 on two gluten-free pizzas THEY HAVE OFFICIALLY sold out and now using the gross cauliflower crust like everyone else and no longer using the INCREDIBLE gluten free crust that made me love them to begin with I feel like I was tricked and I’m livid definitely last time eating there
I have celiac and there are not many places for me to get food that’s including the grocery stores that mainly have gluten free junk food so my partner tried to help me find something to eat that was an actual meal (yes I’m new to the diagnosis) so we settled on this place b we saw they had some options so we ordered and waited he got a notification about 20 min after we ordered that they couldn’t fill the order and gave a refund and u know sitting here typing this I’m very starved b no one can live off junk and gluten free stuff is not cheap nor do I have the knowledge of making any of the meals so ordering was the realistic option so thank u for the refund when I really needed food that u supposedly serve I think u should change ur menu options if u don’t serve gluten free or just don’t want to
