I’m going to be the contrarian among these reviews. I’m GF and DF and can’t tolerate spicy either. I ate here reluctantly because my family was sooo eager to experience this famous London restaurant. They informed me of all the ingredients that might be an issue for me but would not modify anything. So my options were extremely limited. Very loud. The rest of my group loved it. I nibbled and got dinner elsewhere later.

So my experience here was really mixed. The food was wonderful and there were lots of gluten free options to choose from on the menu. But sadly the service is where this place faltered. It was like they couldn't decide if they wanted to be a pub or have table service. When we asked if they were still serving food we got told the menus are over there and they just pointed. We went to the bar to order drinks which was fine, but then we found out they take food orders at the table. But if you want to order more drinks or anything else (like dessert), we had to either go back to the bar to be told they would come over to us or we had to flag down someone to do this. We asked for the bar and it was another 40 minutes or until we paid because no one came back and again we had to flag down one of the staff. I'd really love to recommend this place for the food, but if you are expecting good service maybe try somewhere else.

We just had the most incredible experience for dinner. I have celiac and I’m allergic to nuts so it was truly amazing to eat at a nut free and gluten free restaurant! While it is pricey, it is well worth it. Everything was incredible and the service was great. I would not think twice about going here. Cute place but very tiny and questionable kitchen space. Came for the gluten free pancakes and was exceedingly disappointed- not good and tasted a bit like uncooked meringue. The regular pancakes looked fine and my friend said they were okay but not anywhere close to the ones we had in Japan. We booked a meal at Studio 48 back in early November for my girlfriend's birthday in mid-December. She had been so excited to visit after seeing it on TikTok and learning that it was gluten-free. Unfortunately, the experience was nothing short of a disaster.
Upon arrival, we informed the staff of our booking, only to be told there was no room for us in the restaurant.
The lady we spoke to acknowledged that she could see our reservation in their system but claimed they were only accommodating major
Christmas bookings that evening.
Instead of honoring our reservation, she offered us a tiny space at the downstairs bar, which was completely unsuitable for having a proper meal. Naturally, we declined, as eating a birthday dinner in such a cramped and un-mfortable setting was out of the question. This left us stranded with nowhere to eat on a special evening. Given the time of year, everywhere else was fully booked, and finding a gluten-free option on short notice made things even more difficult. The night we had carefully planned for weeks was ruined entirely.
After reading other reviews, it seems we're not the only ones who've experienced this kind of poor treatment at Studio 48. It's unacceptable to mishandle bookings so carelessly, especially when customers are relying on you for a special occasion. We won't be returning and certainly won't recommend this place to anyone else.
