We were in Anchorage for the long weekend, and Snow City Cafe was recommended to us by our Uber driver on day 1. We loved it so much that we ate breakfast here 3 days in a row! The Eggs Benedict were so good - I recommend the half & half option so you can try more than 1, (specifically the Kodiak/Ships Creek combo).
There is also a great selection of gluten free options for intolerant and celiac folks.
The staff was also incredibly friendly, knowledgeable about local attrations, and offered great suggestions for GF alternatives, (having corn tortillas with an egg scramble instead of toast).
Things a very popular spot though, so I highly recommend joining the virtual que on the Yelp app prior to arriving - otherwise you may face over an hour long wait at peak times.

OMG!!! This place is amazing. Their gluten free options are fantastic, and they are so carful with cross contamination. All I can say is wow!!! Be as adventurous as possible when you pick out your food and they can make most of the food their gluten free. The prices were also very fair and reasonable. You can ask for half and half on a pizza. Finally it was amazing service.
Seafood Gemelli was ridiculously good!! I will definitely be back specifically for that dish. They do have a few gluten free options available if you have dietary restrictions.
Bustling for a reason. Good sandwiches salads and breakfast burritos, and amazing desserts with a huge gluten free selection. I love the setting and there's more seating in the back.
This is our favorite restaurant not only in Girdwood but in the greater Anchorage area. Very cozy space with great food and drinks. The menu is very celiac-friendly but it doesn’t feel forced.
They always seem to get pur food right, and I need dairy amd gluten free meals! The employees never treat us poorly even tho we have to adjust everything we order!.
Did a search for Gluten Free Food near me, and this came up. Skeptical, we walked in and sure enough, they have gluten free buns, and even gluten free, dairy free oreo milkshakes. My wife and kids were thrilled. It was a new place for us to try and we'll be back. The only disappointment was the fact that this location has only on bathroom, and they were out of paper towels when we washed up. I let the employees know, and they promptly fixed the issue.
Our waiter was 4.5 stars. So very much appreciate he checked ingredients before order as I have Celiac. Felt safe eating at this restaurant and will definitely return soon. My chamomile tea was excellent too. There food is art on a plate!
We went for brunch. It's a very small place. Interesting menu with some tasty sounding options but almost nothing for gluten-free patrons. So I went for the miso-corn soup. It sounded odd but was surprisingly delightful. The service was very good.
Don't waste your money.. Go somewhere else. We stopped in for drinks after driving up from Anchorage for the spa while visiting AK and decided to grab a bite to eat. We used to live up here and had been to Alyeska plenty of times and to the other restaurants for food with amazing experiences. Not really sure how this one was so far off the mark??
Three of our four meals were so bad I wouldn't have expected to have paid more than $5-10 a piece for them. Dry as a BONE. We decided to ask for some marinara for the chicken since it was breaded and came with absolutely nothing else to it, and they charged us for the sides of marinara lol what a joke. Felt like being nickel and dimed over a crappy meal - not what I would have expected from the high-end vibe and $30+ meals??
Decided to try a gluten free pizza with butternut squash puree and goat cheese on it. Sounded really good and unique in theory but turned out to be a flat piece of crust with the tiniest amount of puree on it. As a whole, it was super bland and unflavorful, and again - *extremely* dry and chewy. A $5 budget pizza would have been better than this.
I'm not just a hardass with high expectations. I've worked in the hospitality industry plenty and this was just so bad that I genuinely feel robbed.
Our server was nice and she was great, but even good service on her end couldn't save this.
At no point did we ever see a manager or did anyone check in to ask how our food was. I kept waiting - I didn't want to put the burden on our server so we didn't end up saying anything. Was going to say something to the hostess on our way out so as not to burden our server with it (it was just so bad that someone's got to say something! Otherwise how does anyone improve) - and of course there was no one to be found there either on the way out.
The only good food item that came out was the meat ball appetizer that one of us ordered for his meal. What a complete joke. If you're going to charge upwards of $30 for basic dishes, at least get them decent enough that people don't have a terrible meal.
This was a $45 tab at MOST value wise.. yet we closed out at $120. Such a let down. That's a lot of money for us for splurging and now it's just wasted.
I like eating here, even though the Gluten Free options are limited. The wait staff is super nice and friendly, both at the bar and at tables. They have a good gf bun for burgers that you can use for sandwiches, and they also have GF pizza.
Unfortunately they were out of oysters and I only got 3.
I also got the Caprese salad (as did the person I was with) and we both had pretty upset stomachs the next day.
They had a gluten free dessert which is rare and always a pleasure.
It was delicious though.
Great gluten free bun so the 49th St Burger was great. However, they asked if I want fries and I said I did but what they didn't tell me is that they are breaded...very disappointed. Over all good experience but they have room to improve.
I love stoping at BurgerFI when I'm traveling through Anchorage. The food is great and the service is always great. Lani at the front counter is very nice and has excellent customer service. They also have gluten free buns so that is a huge plus for me.
Samantha was very helpful navigating eating there while being gluten free. She made the chefs aware and I was at ease eating, knowing I wouldn't be sick after. She was also super friendly and checked in on us frequently. Very good food and fun atmosphere as well. Thank you for helping me eat without getting sick. 😊
This is an amazing restaurant! We love coming here as a family and sharing the vegetarian platter. We will be back over and over! I wish they used the traditional injera which is gluten free, but I understand it can be hard to get. I would happily pay more for ensuring it's gluten free! We can't wait to come back.
Absolutely the best Thai/Laotian food in town. I’ve eaten here so many times I’ve probably paid for one of the their locations LOL. I wish Pho Lena opened a franchise around the USA, it’s that good. If you don’t like spicy food these are my favorites (gluten free too): chicken pad Thai, fresh rolls, beef sidewalk noodles with extra sauce and limes.
We showed up as a party of six. One of whom has a gluten dairy allergy. The waitress was amazing. The manager, Chad? Changed the channel so that we could watch the Pacers game. Class Act in Anchorage.
The food was not as listed. I specifically said i have allergies and was looking for things I could eat. The server said he would check with cooks.. i settled on a shared appetizer that showed no gluten ingredients... it came covered in breadcrumbs. When I mentioned that wasn't listed in ingredient he said what do you want me to do? I asked if I could order another one without the breadcrumbs and he said no.
I skipped the appetizer. Went to main dish. I asked again about allergens. And was told the meat I wanted was gf so I got it on salad and said no tomatoes since another allergy. My salad came with halved tomatoes. I removed a dessert plate full. Went home with hives. I should have just sent it back but there were others in my party, and I didn't want to make a scene. Would not recommend.
My husband and I visited for our anniversary. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, almost like fine dining. I was excited to see some gluten-free options labeled on the menu.
The service was a bit on the slower end, but they were very understanding when I forgot to tell them I couldn't have bread and would need chips instead, which I really appreciated.
The food wasn't as wonderful as we had hoped, but it also wasn't bad. My husband had a calzone he seemed to enjoy, however the white bean hummus plate was not what I expected for $18. The chips--an alternative to the bread--were straigh out of a chip bag from the grocery store and the cucumber on the plate tasted like it was about to go bad and was very wilty. The hummus itself was good and tasted homemade, but I would have expected more hummus and veggies and restaurant grade chips for that price.
We may give it another try eventually and hope to have a better experience.
Bad location with rude workers/no manners. They apparently don’t care about keeping their gluten free bread safe by cross contaminating their GF containers with regular wheat bread. Gluten can cause cancer in celiacs, the least you can do is not contaminate what little space you hold for gluten free bread. Rude workers. Refused to help me find the other location that has GF bread when they were out of stock. This store is a shining example of why there should not be a $15 minimum wage. Thanks for wasting 20 min of my time while I waited in line just to be told you all were out AGAIN.
I didn’t have high hopes.. coming from Fairbanks where there is 20+ Thai restaurants.. But this place is awesome! Prices are fair and staff are friendly, efficient, and wearing masks! Best gluten free shrimp stir fry I’ve ever had!

Food was really good. Halibut was a little dense but still very tasty. Our server Christopher (batman mask was awesome BTW) was so helpful and friendly and new the menu very well. My wife has Celiac disease and made she she could enjoy a nice meal and not get sick. Somebody promote this man
Huge portions, real food and awesome service. We had enough for two meals! The waitress was also very kind and offered up gluten free options and ensured that everything was perfect. Everyone who comes to Anchorage needs to stop here!
Amazing local brewery with friendly staff and many craft brew offerings..got a canned cider bc no gluten free beer or seltzer but it was good. The salad and poke bowl were out of this world. Best food the entire vacation!
Asking if something was celiac safe because my fiancé has celiac disease is always hard, but getting made fun of and having them put things in our food was not ok.
The drip coffee was good, the employees were rude, almost entertaining.
Everything we ordered was purposely made wrong.
My order was ok because I poured my own coffee except for my cinnamon roll.
I dont know if the cinnamon roll was supposed to have globs of butter instead of frosting, but that seemed odd.
If you are visiting Anchorage and need a dinner recommendation, look no farther. A friend recommended Crush Bistro. After a rainy day of sightseeing, this was a delightful place to eat and relax. Has gluten free options. Servers were so helpful. We had the Scallop Pad Thai!! Large portion, delicious. I wanted to keep eating but took home another meal for leftovers. Crush Bistro rocks!!
Amazing food and the igloo was such a fun ambiance. I was able to eat there as a vegetarian with gluten free needs. Super fresh and delicious salads and the margaritas were top shelf 🥰
Great atmosphere! Excellent service. Lots of gluten free options. I’m not a fan of my feet dangling while I eat but I’m vertically challenged. The food was very tasty. The bartender was generous. We had a great time with our friends. They tolerated us for some time. We will return.
