this was the most delectable experience ever!! all the food was so fresh it felt like i could taste its source. my friends and i were taking photos of our amazing meal and then…the manager comes over and asks if we would want to tag them in a post with one of their desserts on the house!! of course we agreed and not only was the dessert amazing but it was also vegan and gluten free along with many of the options on the menu. my friend who is vegan and gluten free and she said there was plenty of options for her and the staff was extremely accommodating! our waiter also went through the menu and explained everything in through detail since it was our first time. so overall 100/10 experience!!
My husband and I ate dinner here on a Sunday and had a pretty good experience. I have gluten and dairy food allergies so I wanted to make sure I could get gluten free rolls and I was able to. The hostess was clueless and couldn’t even tell us if there were gluten free options, nor could she bother to put in the effort to hand my husband a menu when he asked. I wonder how many people with gluten allergies have not stopped here because of her since she was working during both our treks through the airport. Other than her terrible attitude, the waitress was very sweet and attentive and reassured us that the rolls could be made gluten free and the chefs were good about gluten allergies. She did mention that any of the rolls could be made gluten free and I believe the bowls can be gluten free also. We ordered 3 rolls to share (2 gluten free) and I had no issues at all. The portion size was large and the rolls were good- much better than supermarket sushi as other reviews have commented. They even had tamari. There wasn’t a lot of noise from people walking by and the chairs were pretty comfortable as well. If we have another layover at O’Hare while traveling, we will definitely be stopping again!
Food is great. I love that they have a gluten free menu. However, I believe the restaurant should allow for other dishes included on the regular menu to have gluten free options. For example, I wanted shrimp and broccoli dish but gluten free. Although they mentioned it would be an easy thing to do, the workers mentioned the owner does not allow it.
Admittedly pricey even for a raw vegan restaurant, but overall fantastic raw vegan food! I'm also impressed that they even changed the pizza to make it gluten free using Cassava! My only complaint, albeit a big one, is I wish they used maple syrup or monk fruit instead of agave nectar. Best raw vegan restaurant in Chicago hands down!

My partner (celiac) and I went to this location last weekend. Everytime we eat out, we tell the waiters of my partners celiac and 2 weeks of pain to help paint the picture and ask for the gf menu. Luckily, their menu was already marked so our waitress said those should be safe for celiacs (though I now see others here that said their waiters said it was not safe), there is not a dedicated gf fryer, and that they’d let the staff know. Even though they said that, the way they said it came off like they didn’t super care, so we’re unsure if the staff actually does have these safety discussions. Which sounds like they don’t take cross contamination seriously, since my partner did get sick. Which is quite a bummer since we really enjoyed the food and the vibes of the place. We were going to definitely become repeat customers if it was safe, since it is in our area, but we will not be returning.
For just a food-based review, there are a good amount of options labeled gf where you can have a good, quick meal. The sushi itself is not the fanciest, but it curves the cravings and it’s right for the price point (~$10-$20 per roll). We loved the taste of the one pink (highly recommended) signature roll. We ordered 4 rolls total for 2 people. Again, take that all with a grain of salt since it’s not actually gf safe.
Great experience! I eat gluten free for an allergy/celiac reasons, and the food here was great. I told the waiter I had an allergy, and he assured me that they could avoid cross contamination during preparation if I needed it, which i did need. I am so grateful, as I know sushi can sometimes not be done gluten free and I felt very safe and happy here! Thank you so much !
Such a good neighborhood spot. My boyfriend and I went here twice on our week visit to Chicago. We appreciate that they took a lot of care for his gluten allergy.
Outstanding omakase experience. Jamel delivered a beautiful and well-timed meal that has left me thinking about it weeks later. They also did incredible with dietary restrictions, mine being gluten ♡
I've been coming here since the old location across the street, and it makes me so happy to see how successful they've been since expanding.
I was diagnosed with celiac, so it was difficult trying to adjust to the fact I couldn't have everything from the menu anymore. Our waitress is one whom we have seen around for awhile and she was so kind in letting me know some of the rolls could be adjusted and made gluten free. She even brought gluten free soy sauce for me and gave reassurance (without me asking) that the rolls i got were made carefully! 🥹
I love it here and would recommend anyone, Celiac and non-celiac, to come here! For sure my favorite place in Chicago! 🍣❤️
I was very excited to have the opportunity of dining here for a quick lunch. There are a few locations, and when I was last in Boston, I was unable to experience the Boston location, but I felt fortunate enough to experience the Chicago Ocean Prime Location.
The location of the restaurant is in a prime spot within the Downtown Chicago area that affords them the opportunity to provide you with fantastic seating options that look out over the city.
The menu is very elaborate with several options in spirits, proteins, dining options, and varying entrees.
They do have the ability to accommodate a food allergy, including a gluten allergy, but with full disclosure, I did have a slight reaction to something I consumed while dining with Ocean Prime.
The staff was made aware of my exposure and was sincerely apologetic for my discomfort.
If you have Celiac, or are sensitive to gluten don’t order from the “gluten free” portion of the menu- it’s not gluten free. I spent a the majority of my night violently ill from one of the dishes. (And did report it to the restaurant)
We've eaten at Ruk for YEARS as it's one of the only places we can find something every member of our family will love, and the food and service is always excellent. Our affection Ruk has only increased since one of our family members has been diagnosed with celiac. They take such good care to make sure everything we order is gluten free. They are kind and patient and offer fantastic ideas for substitutions.
The food is delicious, from apps, soups and salads to noodles, curries and Sushi. Thank you, Ruk!
Came here for early dinner last night on a cold blustery day! Delish. Lifted our spirits.
I loved that there was some low carb & gluten free options. Loved the addition of microgreens 😋 Study the menu in advance because there’s a lot of different options!
Thank you so much for great hospitality.
Top notch service and super quality food!! Try the fat noodle pad Thai and the and the girlfriend loves the John Snow sushi roll and summer maki. The ramen is top notch, being delivered. Everything is packed up with care. My main squeeze is gluten-free and they have so many options.
She also always asks for extra unagi sauce and they always give us more. The Crab Rangoon is super good.
Amazing customer service, they always remember us on the phone.
By far my favorite all you can wat sushi place in the City! Lots of options.
I have celiac and they provided me with separate GF soy sauce and were very transparent about what I could and could not eat.
I often come here for lunch. The lunch specials are really tasty. They offer sushi specials with raw and cooked options. Also cooked meals like pad Thai and basil chicken. I enjoy the Thai iced tea. They are very welcoming to solo diners, which is much appreciated. I recommend the taro custard for dessert. I also have the ramen here, which they will make with rice noodles for gluten-free diners.
My boyfriend and I ate here, the place was very nice and waitresses were very kind. They also have some gluten free options, pretty much all the sushi that doesn’t have anything crunchy or breaded is gluten free, along with asking for gluten free soy sauce. I got the roll with salon and cream cheese, it was so good!
Wonderful service from Ning, she was super attentive and helpful. I'm Gluten Free and wanted to try one of the Pad meals, but was unsure because of soy sauce but they were able to use Gluten Free Soy sauce and it was wonderful!! It was an easy swap and I can enjoy this kind of food again because of it and it means a lot. I also ordered the Mochi and they doubled checked the boxes and showed me to be double sure I could have which was very nice and appreciated. The food had beautiful presentation as well! There's only a few tables for dine in but didn't have any issues sitting down on a Friday night. We will definitely be back again!

Very accommodating to my families need for gluten free and very great food!
We have dinner here at least twice a month, sometimes more, for years. Fish is fresh and it’s always good. They don’t have any super unique rolls or exotic fish, but they absolutely nail the basics. Kids eat at a reduced price, which is nice. Servers are always super attentive. They remember us, and usually bring gluten free soy sauce before I can ask for it. Staff is consistent as well, does not appear to be a lot of turn over, which I think speaks a lot about of a place is managed. They also give ice cream to the kids m, which they love. Good food, good people, great place. Highly recommended!

Love this place. We have been getting our sushi here for years. Unfortunately I found out that I now have to eat gluten free. The first time I called and asked, they happily put together some gluten free options for me. I have tried a couple times since, and the people that answer the phone don't know how to do it. I would love to continue to get sushi here. It would be super helpful if they just put together a list of the rolls they can do gluten free and then I can get a copy and ask for those each time. PLEASE.

Sushi at Fulton market. Excellent location and atmosphere. Average food, nothing surprising. The service is good and they are friendly. It has a gluten free menu.
