Amazing gluten free food, almost everything on the menu can be made gluten free. I loved the gnocchi.
Also has a plant based menu that looks delicious. Great service, delicious food.
We had a fantastic brunch this morning, great atmosphere and service. Our waiter was a young gentleman from the UK, he was very friendly and provided wonderful customer service. The staff had a great understanding of coeliac dietary requirements. We will definitely be back when we visit again!
Super popular cafe!! Outside seating available, parking nearby. Coffee soo yummy, had a banana smoothie and was unbelievable 😋 gluten free and vegetarian options. They take food allergies very serious. I had the Ruben sandwich gluten free. Super delicious and fresh!!
We had lovely experience. As tourist group with many dealing with celiac or gluten free sensitives, we found the service and understanding great. Top notch team and recommend to anyone
I ordered from this place online on 10th January 2025. Online system was easy to use and navigate. I was earlier then allocated pick up time so waited in the waiting area for 5 minutes. The place is actually a resturant as well but this particular day I went it was over 30 degrees and the resturant was very hot. I wasn't staying so this didn't bother me, but if you were expecting a cool place on a hot day this is not it. However you would not be disappointed with the pizza it was delicious. I ordered 2 Gluten Free pizzas and both were very yummy 😋. Highly recommend.
Had 3 Cheese Steak tacos! All I can say is yum!
Corn taco shells perfect for my gluten free partner, and traditional american cheese.
I mean hey! Thats what a cheese steak is! 🫡🌮
What pleasant surprise it was when we discovered this shop tonight. As a coeliac the team here were extremely helpful when we enquired about the gluten free range they explained that the ice creams and sorbets WITH gluten are labelled and those without are gluten free. The ratio is about 2/3rds gluten free and 1/3rd with. Nice big selection and when I said I was coeliac they very kindly said to prevent any contamination that they would get may selection direct from the freezer out back from the stocks. Well done and highly recommended.
As always, delicious, healthy, gluten free hamburger, and amazing first class customer care. Congratulations Grilld. And perfect location, just near the beach.
Took my sister here for her birthday lunch.
Got the nourish bowl, and asked for this gluten free as my sister has an intolerance. It was served with a sesame dressing, which tasted like the kewpie sesame dressing (which is yum!) but I am aware this contains gluten. We didn’t mention anything as it’s an intolerance and not coeliac. However, the sheer amount of water in this bowl was insane. Like it would have filled half a latte glass!
The potato cakes were unbelievably oily too and the potato itself was undercooked. Which was super disappointing because it was so exciting to try a gluten free potato cake!
Tried picking the batter off and the slightest squeeze had mass amounts of oil dripping out.
We also were sat, and the wait staff checked every table around us, but we were never able to bring this to wait staff’s attentions even when we tried! We heard the table next to us making comments about the quality of the food too but we unfortunately did not get the chance.
The Welcome (4/5):
DOC Mornington offers a warm welcome with friendly, knowledgeable staff eager to recommend dishes. The atmosphere captures the essence of a bustling Italian eatery, but be prepared for a lively buzz. Unfortunately, the current design feels outdated and the acoustics make conversation at your table challenging. However, the open kitchen adds a fun element, letting you witness the culinary energy firsthand.
Pizza Perfection (4.5/5):
DOC excels in the heart of its menu - the pizza. Made with high-quality, fresh, local ingredients, they boast perfectly chewy crusts. We enjoyed the "Cornutu" on a surprisingly delicious gluten-free base. While tasty, there might be even more mouthwatering options to explore on the menu.
The Verdict (4/5):
DOC Mornington is a great choice for a casual or romantic dinner, offering a lively atmosphere and top-notch pizzas. The pricing might seem high for a pizzeria, but the quality ingredients and overall experience justify the cost.
As a last minute date night option, Squire's Loft is tops. Terrific menu, there were multiple options for my date, who is a FODMAP, gluten and also vego. Exc service (we tipped) and quick with a suggestion on drinks and to provide a table heater when the sun went down for the on-street sting area. Meals generally $30-50, though the beef rack scores highly, and is $40+ for 3 fat ribs per rack. Char grilled vegies are the bomb, and don't be surprised to get freebies if you're nice. Expect to get fat here! Excellent, but pricey.
Loved this cute little cafe for lunch and the fact there were delish gluten free toasties. Coffee was good also. Would recommend for anyone wanting a tasty little lunch.
Great cafe, location, coffee, brunch, service, what more can I say. Thank you for a great meal and a few gluten free options too. I highly recommend Lilo Cafe in Mornington. They are easy to find at 725 The Esplanade, the road running along the beach in Mornington.

These guys always look after us because the food is delicious and service is great. Ash the owner/manager is a champion and is always patient with our kids, one of whom is anaphylactic and one is Coeliac. We come regularly! Thank you
OMG! We were regulars for a couple of months now, with my family needing gluten free options. My wife visited tonight to order and pick up our usual rice paper rolls and PHO, only to be told by the young server "Sorry we have too many people waiting so unless you want the prawn rolls we are not making anymore". What???? No sorry, no suggestion to help with anything else.
Off to another restaurant we go, one that will happily serve us tonight. Sadly, we wont be back.
I stopped by early morning for a coffee and was surprised at just how many gluten free options they had! On top of this they made a beautiful, strong coffee.
I got a lemon & almond biscuit and an almond latte, perfect breakfast. I’ll be back for savoury!
We absolutely love this place so much so that we have been here almost every week that it has been open. Why you may ask - well the number one reason is food - Full of Flavour and its gluten and dairy free (which for a person who can't eat these foods its heaven!!) second the decor and atmosphere here is fabulous and staff are helpful. We took our staff here for our Christmas party and they loved it too!!!!
The food here is delicious, and the portions are decent too. Don't expect a restaurant vibe, as it's primarily a takeaway shop, but there is small window counter you can use to dine in, which we did. Gluten free gravy can be made on request, and only one vegetable dish when we visited was unsuitable for coeliacs. The owner is a cheerful bloke to boot.
