We came across this restaurant in Stirling almost by chance. We actually wanted to go to the town centre, but the one we had chosen was full, so while looking for places for people with gluten intolerance, we took the car and arrived at this location. A refined and classy environment welcomes you right away. Large windows, a circular structure, a small lake around. From the parked cars you could tell it was a nice place. Where, however, even three hungry tourists with backpacks on their shoulders found courtesy, kindness and excellent prices. They even gave us the opportunity to charge my completely dead phone in their office. We tried hamburgers, salads and sandwiches. Everything was well-kept, fresh and good. Also, lots of space between the tables and a refined environment. It was worth it, even if we had to leave the historic centre and the castle. Prices in line with pubs and bars in the centre. A nice surprise
Very over prices for what you get and the portion size is small and the food was horrible not nice at all my husband was sick after he had it and iam had gluten free that was disgusting and I was in pain after
Very good food, the quality of the raw materials can be felt. Almost the entire menu offers vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free variations.
The only flaw: a little too expensive considering the size of the portions, £20 for a slightly skimpy salad as a main dish seems excessive to me. £9 a starter with literally 6 slices of beetroot carpaccio and the same goes for the rest. If you don't have any problems spending a little more you can easily get the starter, main dish and dessert without bursting at the seams. It depends what one is looking for from a dinner in Scotland.
Lovely spot, great for allergies. I have celiac disease and had loads of options. Made adjustments to savoury waffles to create dessert waffles for the kids. Our server Grant was great!
Excellent food, cozy cafe. They have many gluten free, vegan, vegetarian options. The service is very nice and helpful. I recommend French toast with apples and cinnamon.
If I could give 6 stars I would! From booking over the phone to leaving we could not fault the restaurant. The menu is small but we liked that as it means they can perfect it & we can try most of it! We had olives & nuts plus We shared the haggis main as a starter & it was enough for three of us to try it & it was tasty! With the pepper sauce poured over the top it gave it that edge. For mains we had the beet burger, Mac n cheese & the gyros. I prefer gluten free but they didn’t have the pitta so I asked for it in the bun. All three were very good, right portion size & tasty. When we went to order desert the waitress remembered I was gluten free & she’d already checked that they had a GF cheesecake… that was very impressive that she’d remembered & checked. The cheesecake was the best vegan one we’d had & the vanilla ice cream tasted of honey & vanilla which was really creamy. We had a lot of food, a few no alcohol drinks, deserts & the bill was under £100 which we thought was very good value for three people & the amount of food we’d had. The staff were very attentive & professional. If you’re vegan or not I highly recommend this restaurant…
Great little coffee shop .
Lots of homemade cakes to choose from also a good selection of gluten-free items on the menu .I had a piece of the babka bread, which I asked for to be warmed. The slightly warm bread was delicious. Good service and friendly staff would definitely go back if in the area again .
Myself, husband and 4 children ate here on 17th August, and we are all in agreement that everything was fantastic. Great service and lovely food. Friendly staff a big shout out to the manager, we're here on holidays and he gave us great advice and tips on places to visit.
Kids menu had a fantastic choice, and my husband, who's gluten intolerant, was very impressed with the gluten-free menu and beer. We found it very reasonably priced for 6 of us with starters, mains, drinks and kids meals
Highly recommend.
Excellent gluten free food. My pizza was huge, well cooked and very tasty. Definitely recommended! The staff were lovely and friendly and spoke English which was great for us!
I have climbed Wallace Monument many times when growing up but this was the first time I visited the cafe underneath, as I was visiting with a friend from abroad.
I can honestly say I think the soup I had is the best bowl of soup I have ever had. It was leek and potato and wasn’t creamy, instead in a clear broth and it was excellent.
I had a toastie with gluten free bread and it was also very good. There were plenty of veggie and gluten free options and I would return in a heartbeat.
The staff were super friendly and it wasn’t fancy or pretentious in any way. It was clean, welcoming and the food was great Scottish food that you want on a cold day - soup and a sandwich. They also do baked potatoes and toasties and loads of cakes too and everything was very well priced. No tourist trap here.
You should visit!
Fletcher's served up one of the best dinners we had in our whole trip. Highly recommend the venison steak. There are plenty of gluten free options and the staff are extremely helpful. Special mention to Stuart and John, they were incredible. Service with a smile, very efficient and gave us some great recommendations for things to do in Stirling.
Excellent lunch and amazing coffee. Friendly service and good quirky decor. Flat access to ground floor.
Update: 2nd visit and their gluten free bread had not been delivered so they made my partner an excellent and very reasonable salad - bravo!
Amazing tasting menu. The best one yet and I have done a few now. The level of knowledge for each course and the corresponding wine was impressive.
The best thing was the lovely chef adapted every course to be gluten free as I have Coeliac Disease. 100% recommend.
Excellent food, very friendly staff and they were very careful about the food when we told them that one of us was coeliac.
The restaurant was clean and the prices very reasonable. Thank you
Had a wonderfull lunch at the Unicorn Cafe, very accomodating to our gluten free needs and very helpful staff. Soup was lovely and healthy. We myself, husband and daughter all loved the food and it was a lovely spot to sit out of the wind and cold outside.

Good food, nicely atmosphere, some gluten free options, the signature burger is good. Have been 3 times recently.
Great welcome from our server Laura on her second day
I booked on line after viewing the menu. As my wife is Coeliac the choices of Gluten free food was excellent as well as a wee treat for her 81st. Birthday. I was utterly disappointed when there was only one gluten free item on the menu and when I bought this to attention of waitress, I was told that the on line menu hadn't been altered which in effect is
false advertising. It spoiled my wife's birthday.
Not just a pretty venue but staff were lovely and attentive, the menu was varied and interesting. They also were able to cater to my dietary requirements (gluten and dairy free) despite it not being noted on the menu which was a nice surprise! My friends both enjoyed their meals, overall would definitely go back next time I'm in Stirling 😋
