Fantastic spot for dinner!
The menu had great variety, including plenty of gluten-free options—which was a big reason we chose it. The space is beautiful, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. We didn’t need a reservation, but since it’s a smaller restaurant, it’s probably smart to book ahead. Highly recommend!
I cannot comment on the rooms as never stayed but We come here basically all the time for pizza ! Always a great vibe and atmosphere, the pizza is the best offering gluten free option also - which is just as tasty as the regular . Garlic bread is on point also.
Great drink options and local beers I’ve not tried but partner and friends love , i have never had a bad experience here and will keep coming back. Upstairs garden is nice too on a sunny day with open seating or sheltered, best pizza in Inverness.
I stopped by with my mother to grab lunch. We got a tea, leek and potato soup, and 2 scrambled eggs on gluten free toast. The wait time was pretty long, about 40 minutes. The tea was not very hot, and tasted like whatever had been in the pot prior. My mother was not very pleased with her eggs or toast- especially considering the pricetag of £9.
I enjoyed my soup, a very large amount, however the potato had seemed to have partially dissolved in the broth and there wasn't very much of it actually in there.
More of a personal issue, but the music was extremely loud to the point where we could not hear each other talk, even at louder volumes which was rather limiting to conversation. The door was also kept open despite the rain and I found myself rather cold.
We used to come here a lot but the quality of the food and service has dropped significantly and I dont think we will come back.
However the waitress was very nice! She swapped the dairy milk for oat when we asked about it and brought over extra water :)
Allergies are requested upon arrival and there is a wide range of gluten-free options. The staff is well informed, friendly and very helpful. The food was delicious and the atmosphere invites you to linger.
We only stopped here because our hotel was around the corner and we were hungry. At first glance it looks like a cool place to stop and eat. I had fish and chips, the only one available was the gluten free. Maybe this is what affected the batter, it had no taste, it was crispy but the inside was swimming in grease. I ended up scraping the batter off and just eating the fish. The guy who served us really didn't want to be there or enjoyed his job, or at least that's how it came across to me the customer. Would I go there again? Not for food, drinks maybe
As someone with Coeliac and a dairy intolerance, this is one of the few if not only places I can get a takeaway. The new allergy list is extremely good and in depth aswell. The box’s all have stickers labels and qr codes for allergens.
This is a cozy cafe with a nice alternative vibe. Where you get delicious looking and tasting food and drinks. Where you can chill out, grab a board game or work on your laptop. It is quite popular, so sometimes in summer you might have to wait and come back as they have 7 tables and ruffly 18 seats.
Vegan and gluten-free friendly and always new cool drinks on the menu. Plus I like that they display and sell local arts and crafts.
We had a recommendation to try Mustard Seed in Inverness and it didn’t let us down. We arrived late’ish on a Friday night and the friendly team accommodated us with a table. Food was very wholesome and really enjoyed it. Highlights for us were the mussels and venison. Gluten free well accommodated.
A thoroughly enjoyable visit! Superb fish oysters, delicious mussels in chili coconut, and a juicy burger!
Attentive, friendly staff! Gluten-free? No problem! Vegetarian - of course!
We'll be back!
I was coming from a long day trip and I found this lovely Indian restaurant next to the station- the food was great - the accommodate the gluten free and vegan request !!! Muchas gracias !!!(Argentina)
Restaurant that serves gluten-free food and it turns out that it contains gluten.....be careful because they can make you stuck in the toilet for a couple of hours after the meal.
My daughter is coeliac and I’m GF so I did a bit of research before booking this restaurant. I called to check the burgers were definately GF and was assured they were. I also noted dietary requirements on the booking. We placed our order for 2 burgers only to be told that there were no GF buns. We decided to go ahead with the order as we had a theatre booking later that evening and it would have been awkward to find another restaurant. The waitress advised she would arrange for some “extra chips” with the burger.
When the food arrived it was almost comical the tiny burger had been hidden between 2 bits of little gem lettuce it looked like it was hiding its embarrassment! The burger was dry and tasteless the chips were at least hot but if that was extra I’d hate to see a normal portion. When asked if everything was ok with our me I said no. No effort had been made to try and elevate the bun less burger. Maybe a bit tomato, onion, cucumber would have been a start. £17.00 for a dry burger a small bowl of chips and a handful of leaves was awful. We spoke to the manager who was unaware they had ran out of GF bread he offered a discounted price and a dessert. We felt he was lacking basic knowledge of what coeliac disease actually us as he offered vegan icecream having just ordered a burger we are not vegan !
I feel the chef and management need to review their food intolerance options. I fear the chips were also fried in the normal frier where gluten products are cooked as later that night my daughter had some mild side effects from having eaten gluten. A bit more education in the kitchen I think.
In the end we were given 10% of the bill and our drinks free but it still felt very steep at £30.00 for an awful meal. Waiting staff were very nice and we felt sorry for them having to bring out such a pathetic plate of good.
Friendly little cafe with great food and loads of veggie, vegan & gluten free choices. I had vegan breakfast (I'm actually veggie but not fussed about eggs) I got veggie haggis, tatty scone, hash browns, veggie sausages & beans & tomato. Very nice! Partner had a Scottish breakfast and said the black pudding was the best he's ever had. Dogs welcome & have their own menu.
Delicious dinner at Aye Eat. Very understand and accommodating with gluten free needs. We did the mix and match starters. The Cullen skink is to die for and the drivers were very good. The only downsides were that the highland cow skewer portion was very small and the Irn Bru cheesecake my partner had didn’t have much of a taste. The decor is so fun and we still highly recommend.
Very friendly and helpful staff with good support also on gluten free dishes. Food was ok but nothing outstanding, a wee bit too much of butter on the halibut
Super find on our way through Inverness. Super friendly staff, yummy food and clean comfortable facilities. They are pet friendly and also offered gluten free alternatives.
I was recommended Johnny Foxes by a friend while visiting Inverness. I’m Gluten and Dairy free. This place did not disappoint. Plenty of alternatives to choose from. Opted for the battered haddock and chips. WOW! The batter on this is one of the best gluten free versions I’ve had so far. The atmosphere was lovely and all the staff were great. Although I didn’t book, I may suggest doing so on a weekend as it did start to get busy and a lot of ‘reserved’ signs were on tables. Would definitely return.
10/10 for burgers. We had the Scotch&Rye beef smash burger and the chicken with bbq pulled pork (gluten free). Excellent. Chips aka fries are cooked in a fryer that is not gluten- contaminated, so happy days. Tasty. We had one portion of ordinary fries (5*) and one portion of garlic-parmesan loaded fries (4* good but not the Absolute Taste Sensation I was expecting when they were recommended). Key Lime cheesecake: good, not too sweet, but I wanted more zing from the lime and the whipped cream detracted rather than added. The cake portions were modest -- makes sense because burgers and fries are big, but felt a bit mean in comparison.
Service: super-friendly, very welcoming, but slowed down when it became busier and our second round of drinks never arrived, nor did the bill (check) before we put on our coats and asked to pay.
Atmosphere: we enjoyed the soul-funk playlist and we didn't feel hurried.
A solid 8.67/10.
Very tasty.
Caters for gluten free, vegetarian, and vegan.
Go.
Ordered carry out. Food was delicious and customer service was impeccable. She was very knowledgeable and helpful with allergies, especially gluten free and nuts. Would go back in a heartbeat
I was in search of Gluten free pizza and happened to find this small, quaint restaurant. Happy to say the pizza did not disappoint and probably ranks high on the GF pizzas I've tried around the world. If ever in Inverness again, I will definitely pop in here.
Note, the place is small so you may have to wait but at least for the GF pizza, it's worth the wait (also heard someone else say theirs was good too!)
Quick bite to eat whilst visiting Inverness for the day.
Im gluten free and was really fancying a burger and after some google searching found this place and it did not disappoint.
the burger was amazing. Best burger I’ve had in a while. Didn’t have any cocktails but they looked great.
Staff friendly, squeezed us in before 5:30 prior to a booking already in, as didn’t want a table near the door as it was freezing, as we were only looking for a quick bite to eat.
Drinks served quickly, and burgers were also served in a reasonable time.
Looked a great place for drinking cocktails. Would definitely return.
A funeral tea, I hadn't warned them in advance that I'm gluten and dairy free as I wasn't 100% sure I'd be going. They had no problem doing gf sausage roll, sandwiches and homemade cake. I was well impressed.
Incredible display, and excellent customer service when we asked for gluten free options. They offer a GF cone, and most flavors are GF, and when I asked about cross contamination, they offered to scoop from unopened containers in the back freezers. We got vanilla and triple chocolate, and they were delicious (my kids have never criticized an ice cream). I was impressed by their knowledge and accommodation of celiac.
They had such a wonderful selection of gluten free options! Almost everything on the menu could be made GF. I got the baked fillet of cod with a side of the tomato mozzarella salad, my partner got the beef cheek, both were amazing! The cocktails were also delicious, we loved everything!
I have had a handful of takeaway meals from here on gluten free nights and I have been very satisfied every time. I am glad that they give the option and take the effort for GF people to eat from takeaways. They have plenty of delicious options from Jumbo sausage to White pudding to Haggis and more. Their Gravy and curry sauces also very tasty as well as their chips which are made from proper fresh potatoes. Keep up the good work.
We stepped out of the train station, right into this hotel. That was a very pleasant surprise. Literally no walking time at all. Staff is very friendly, they explained nicely where our room was and gave us some recommendations on where to get a nice dinner. The hotel looks beautiful, the big stairs in the lobby are a real eyecatcher. There’s some nice spots to sit in the lobby, to enjoy a drink. The rooms were a bit noisy and most of all, very old. I don’t really mind the curtains, flooring, beds etc. to be old, but the bathroom was so old that I can’t imagine they can really get it clean after all those years. I do have to say that the water pressure in the shower was excellent and that there was a heated towel rack. The breakfast was not at all what we expected, the room again is beautiful but not dressed nicely at all, and the breakfast itself leaves much to be desired. There’s no eggs or bacon or something. We saw some people order something from the restaurant but it seemed that was not really something we should do, nor was it offered to us. They did have some gluten free bread.
Our family concluded their two-week vacation in Scotland with dinner at Alfi's River House Restaurant. The food, service, and atmosphere were all exceptional. Our waiter was witty, which we all appreciated, and knowledgeable regarding gluten allergies. I will definitely stop in again the next time I'm in inverness.
Dine in...We had a 7:30 reservation for dinner. We sat down and waited a long time for our order to be taken. I am gluten free and am very picky about what I eat. I asked the waiter if I could take parts of the dinners, (such as just the vegetables) and just have them. He said no. So I ended up ordering a side salad, 2 orders of side potatoes (I thought they were baked but they were boiled) and a side order of broccoli. After waiting for well over an hour, our dinners finally arrived. Mine was 3 separate cereal bowls..one with boiled potatoes, one with broccoli and one with salad. NO DINNER PLATE. And one tiny sliver of butter. It was not exactly a 5 star presentation of food on a plate! I asked for a dinner plate and the waiter did bring me one after a while. This was the best presentation the chef could make? The boiled potatoes and broccoli were not 5 star by an stretch of the imagination!
Also, we had started the evening in the bar and had each had a drink or glass of wine. Once at the table, we all ordered another glass of wine. The service was incredibly slow and we ended up drinking another glass of wine. Little did we know that they were $30 a glass! No one ever offered us a bottle, nor did we know that mixed drinks are half the price! It turned out that our bar bill was 100 pounds per person! This turned out to be a most expensive dinner of our trip! The other diners had okay meals, but the service was so slow that they would have eaten almost anything! In short, this dinner was a terrible experience...and very, very expensive. I would not recommend this restaurant.
As a Coeliac, eating out can be a challenge. I had two breakfasts during our stay here. Zane was outstanding both in her knowledge and understanding of Gluten Free and she employed exceptional strategies to avoid cross contamination. I would highly recommend eating here to fellow Coeliacs. I felt 100% safe in her hands.
Fantastic experience for my mum's birthday. Main courses were amazing and catered for celiac disease with an exclusive menu. Desserts were equally as good. Thank you so much for putting decorations and even a wee candle on my mum's dessert. Also all of the staff were so friendly, a credit to the restaurant!! We will be back for sure 😁
Nice remodeled market hall into a food court. Bad Girl has the best coffee we have had in Scotland, very good. They also had a lovely gluten free lemon drizzle muffin and a good pork sausage roll. Service was a little uninterested and not particularly friendly here, especially compared to the one in Beauly where they were understaffed but still absolutely lovely.
Another visit to Cinnamon restaurant in Inverness. Fantastic food and service. Gluten Free dishes on the menu with great choice. Will call again next month.
Had breakfast in here and loved it. The coffee is absolutely outstanding - they have oat milk - and the mocha was done with real chocolate, super delicious. We also tried the breakfast bap and it was unreal, the tomato sauce on it is a nice touch. They have options of gluten free sweets, but no gluten free sandwiches.
For sweet tries the lemon and coconut blondie and it was really good. Highly recommend and would defo come back!
We went there after a boat trip nearby. They offer nice fish and chips, have gluten free options and the service/people were very nice. A pleasant experience:)
Lovely shop with lots of gluten free and vegan options. Staff are really welcoming and helpful! Their range of vegan cheeses is amazing. I always stop there when passing through Inverness :)
FOOD was amazing and amazing options for gluten free and vegans food was absolutely delicious the staff were super kind and prices were very fair and well worth it the location is a bit noisy being in a market area but still an amazing place to eat
Very nice restaurant. The menu is very interesting and the food is good, full of flavours and tasty. There is a full menu gluten-free, and I really appreciated it. The staff is very helpful and kind. The service is perfect and quick. Great choice of beverage. I recommend this place. It's a beautiful surprise.
