401k food and wine bar is a dedicated gluten free restaurant. They have delicious food that is so good my gluten eating husband kept asking if I was sure the food was safe for me. We had the Caesar salad, arugula salad, calamari, chicken and waffles, mini churros, and bread pudding. The servers were delightful, energetic, friendly, and gave great food recommendations. I can’t wait to visit again. It’s such relief to know everything is safe and to have such a great meal.

The Butcher’s Daughter – Stylish, Satisfying, and Full of Flavor The Butcher’s Daughter on Abbot Kinney delivers on every front—delicious food, warm service, and a beautifully curated atmosphere. The space has a cool, airy vibe that feels equal parts trendy and welcoming, perfect for a relaxed breakfast or brunch. I ordered the gluten-free vegan waffles with maple syrup and added a side of bacon—the combination was absolutely perfect. The waffles were crisp on the outside, soft on the inside, and full of flavor. The bacon added that savory contrast I was desiring. The staff were friendly, attentive, and created a genuinely pleasant dining experience. Whether you’re plant-based, gluten-free, or just looking for a great bite in Venice, The Butcher’s Daughter is a must-visit spot with great vibes and even better food.

We had a very nice server and there’s a great ambiance at Scopa, perfect for dates and connecting with friends alike. They have a gorgeous bar, large window, candles on the tables, and all of our food came perfectly coursed. We were easily able to make a same-day reservation via the Resy app, and I do recommend making a reservation in advance because it was popping when we arrived. For parking, you can either park in the connected valet lot ($13 on a Monday) or look for free street parking (we found it pretty easily, but then again it was a Monday). There are the top four absolute must-order items you should order to share: 1. Hot Antipasti - Scallops Oreganata ($23) with brown butter, bread crumbs, & lemon. I’m gluten free so I asked for no breadcrumbs, and I also recommend ordering a side of gluten free bread to dip in the brown butter after you finish enjoying the scallops because they have the absolute best gluten free cheesecheese bread! They only came with 2 scallops in an order so consider ordering enough so each person can have at least 1 full scallop. 2. Hot Antipasti - Mortadella Meatballs ($21) with pistachio pesto, arugula, & parmesan cheese. This came with 3 medium-large sized meatballs covered in a delicious green pesto - don’t let looks deceive you, even if this isn’t how you expect meatballs to look they’re delish. 3. Cold Antipasti - Heirloom Tomatoes ($18) with sweet onion, basil, ricotta salata cheese, sherry vinegar, & olive oil. If you enjoy tomatoes of all shapes and sizes, this is the dish for you. My favorite were the little orange tomatoes. 4. Salad - Raw Brussels Sprouts Salad ($22) with generous pecorino romano cheese, parsley, grapes, olive oil, sherry vinegar, & toasted almonds. This was a good portion size and the best raw Brussels sprouts I’ve ever had. While I did really enjoy the flavor of oysters themselves and their sauces, and I do want to put them as item 5 to order, each of the oysters had some shell bits had to spit out, and it only came with 1 spoon and 0 mini forks. The oysters come with lemon slices, cocktail sauce, shredded horseradish, mignonette, and are $4.50 each with a minimum of 6. I would order them again, but enjoy them carefully and hope that they’re shucked better next time. However… Maybe things were off because it was a Monday and they had multiple large last minute parties walk in. Maybe I should have gone for the pastas instead of the below because it is an Italian restaurant. Maybe I’m just a person who enjoys more seasoning on seafood or less sauce on pork chops, but a few of the dishes weren’t exactly as good as I was expecting. Unless you love canned tuna, absolutely avoid the Sicilian Tuna Cold Antipasti ($19) with market green beans, fingerling potato, capers, lemon, & olive oil. It wasn’t until we mentioned to our server our strong disappointment with the dish, as we were expecting either Tuna Crudo or Seared Tuna, that our server told us that he usually steers guests away from it. It also had zero seasoning, and boy did it need it. It also feels like this dish should have automatically been served with crackers. The Amberjack Crudo ($25) with watermelon radish, bulls blood micro greens, & herb oil needed a combo-sauce or a stronger flavored oil, as it was very bland as-is. Luckily not a fishy-fish, but still lackluster for their only fish crudo on the menu. For the Mains, they were already sold out of the 24oz T-bone Steak ($82) when we arrived, and the server recommended the Pork Chop. The generous portion of Pork Chop ($66) came with crispy fingerling potatoes, roasted shallots, olives, capers, garlic, balsamic vinegar, & fresh herbs. The balsamic was more of a thick, sweet, heavy glaze, and it overpowered the meat. Personally, we both felt it was over-sauced.

Located near the Venice Pier, The cow’s end has nothing but a pleasant smell of coffee and delicious food. :) We stopped here for coffee and because they had gluten-free options on the menu, my wife got a gluten-free avocado toast and a gluten-free donut to go. The staff was very friendly and you could tell this is a place that locals and visitors alike spend time and enjoy the ambience. When we were there, we met friendly dogs and local people.

Happy to see they offer gluten-free fries (and they’re so good!). The management really goes out of their way to make sure you’re taken care of—super friendly and attentive. Highly recommend if you’re in Venice and craving something satisfying and well done. Will definitely be back!

Came in for the first time to see what all the hype was about. It turns out, plenty. Helisa, our server, helped me and my family find something we each liked. She was so patient and friendly with us, it was a great experience. She gave us gluten free options to choose from and some crazy good flavors like olive oil and strawberry balsamic that we didn't expect to like at all. Absolutely worth the wait. Will be back!

Impeccable service and delicious food & drinks. We were a group of 8 and everything was amazing from beginning to end. It was most of our first time here and we will all certainly be back. The smoked trout dip, tuna carpaccio, kanpachi, and duck were the highlights. Most items were gluten free which I so appreciated. Highly recommend for food, service and vibes. Baja Cantina brings the Baja experience to life with vibrant music, flavorful food, and a laid-back atmosphere that makes you feel like you’ve stumbled into a beachside celebration. Located on the Venice side of Washington and established in 1975, this spot offers more than just a meal—it offers a whole vibe, especially on Saturday nights when live music electrifies the space. From the start, things moved quickly with seating (only a one-minute wait), but the service afterward slowed down. Ordering took about 14 minutes, water didn’t arrive until the 24-minute mark, and food was served after 21 minutes. The staff, while knowledgeable and genuinely kind, seemed a bit overwhelmed. Only one check-in occurred between the delivery of water and food, leaving me wondering whether they were understaffed or simply overlooked a solo diner. Despite the service hiccups, the food and atmosphere delivered. The complimentary handmade nachos were warm, crisp, and lightly seasoned, paired with a fresh salsa that hit all the right notes—lime, cilantro, onion, and just the right kick from Serrano peppers. Though the salsa wasn’t initially brought with the nachos, it was promptly delivered upon request. The fish tacos had a great flavor profile but were a touch dry—perhaps a drizzle of crema or a bit more slaw would balance them out. On the other hand, the nachos I ordered were the real standout: layered perfectly with guacamole, sour cream, cilantro, and onions, they had the ideal mix of flavor and texture without going overboard. The ambiance was a highlight. Baja Cantina’s clean, open layout paired with an eclectic and diverse crowd created an energetic and fun environment—definitely a spot that shines with a bit of company on a lively Saturday night. The prices were fair, the menu options were extensive, and it was great to see gluten-free options available. Suggestions for Improvement: • Improve wait times for basic service like water. • Ensure staff checks in more consistently, even with solo diners. • Consider adding a touch more moisture to the fish tacos to elevate their texture. • Bring salsa automatically with nacho orders. Overall, Baja Cantina is a place worth visiting if you’re in the mood for good food, great music, and a bit of a beachside groove. Just come with a little patience—or better yet, bring some good friends and enjoy the vibe together.

My sister was visiting and found this place on a gluten friendly app it had great reviews and many GF options. We arrived without a reservation but were still greeted with a smile and shown to a couple of tables for walk-ins. After a few minutes, Sidney came and introduced himself to take our drink order. Sidney was met with a berage of questions about the menu being GF. Sidney let us know that the restaurant had decided to go away from the Gluten friendly menu at least 6 months ago. He did, however, take the time to go through the menu with my sister althewhile suggesting some amazing selections from the daily specials. They still have some really great GF options, and my sister was very pleased with the meal that she had. The classic California roll made with blue crab and the Philly roll were perfect. We also had a few other rolls, including the tiger roll (gf), the Rick James, and the girlfriend jeans. all of our selections were very appealing and tasted excellent. Sidney was exceptional throughout the evening and is one of the reasons why I will be returning to this restaurant, with a reservation, of course.

My kid who can’t eat gluten aways wanted to try to gluten free fish and chips, finally had the time to drive to the boardwalk to try The Wee Chippy. Paid 18 bucks to park, walked over, only to find there are no gluten free fish and chips. Told they’re having a supplier issue. How about removing it from your menu if it isn’t available?

Extremely incompetent, process-obsessed people at this store who don't care about customers. I called to ask if I could place an order for a gluten free sandwich on the phone, was told that I could only order online not on the phone, then I explained that there was no option for gluten free bread online. This took them a while to understand but eventually they said I would have to place an order online with the regular bread and then call in on the phone to request gluten free bread. So I went ahead and placed an order online. Then they said actually they'd need to check with their shift leader to see if they'd be able to do that and when they did they told me that I wouldn't be able to do this and could only get gluten free bread by waiting in line in the store. Eventually I was able to convince them to make a one-time exception but they warned me I could never do this (thing they told me to do) again. It does seem like it'd be smart to let people get gluten free bread placing orders online and they're losing plenty of customers because of this, but ultimately this restaurant doesn't seem to care much about customers and mostly care about process. I guess they figure don't need to care about customers because their food is pretty good. Still, it's unfortunate short-term thinking to mistreat customers. Update: it's not the people in the restaurant's fault. They try their best. The management hates innovation and treating customers well.

Came across this groovy little spot called Belles Beach House—pretty jazzy vibe. Last time I was here, I had the fish and the Mochiko chicken nuggets. This time, I just stuck with the nuggets, and let me tell you—the appetizer is absolutely divine. The food here is actually exceptional. Now, last time I visited, the service was a bit subpar. Honestly, I felt like I was being treated like a second-class citizen. That experience kinda lingers in the back of my mind with this review. I usually have fun with these little audits—I show up in sweat shorts, sandals, sometimes looking like a beach bum or a broke hippie, just to get a feel for how the staff treats people based on appearances. Despite that past blip, I’ve gotta say: the energy here is solid. The acerbic banter, the frontline staff, the chefs—they all bring a good vibe. Back to the chicken nuggets—they’re absolutely delectable, full of beautiful flavor, especially with a little squeeze of lemon. Made from rice, so they’re gluten-free-friendly. If you don’t have a gluten issue, the barbecue sauce is a winner. I usually skip it due to my allergy, but I do love dipping them in the mayo-based sauce—seriously tasty. To be blunt: if you’re a group of gals looking for a chill evening out, this is a solid pick. Great for group dates too—lots of lounging space. And if you’re flying solo, the bar’s a pretty great place to post up and vibe. Overall, this place fits my jive—and I like it. My server who was super nice was chill Ryan!

Fantastic Pho, as traveling around the world i must admit that its one of the best Pho i every had. Gluten- and MSG-free and the taste is fresh and delicious 🤤…. Lots of traffic, people picking up their order (while waiting you can play games at the desk). Why not having a seat in or outside and enjoy the nice music and the atmosphere.
