My wife and I went for our anniversary. I thought this was fine dining but just believe it is upscale dining. We pulled up to no valet and an armed guard outside. The inside decor is nice but just doesn’t make you feel like fine dining. We had drinks, sautéed crab claws, filet, wedge salad, and lamb. The food was pretty good. We really like the filet and the crab claws, everything else was okay. The balsamic reduction came in a cup on the side of the lamb. In was like jelly and would adhere to the lamb, I believe there could be a better way to do this. Our server never introduced himself, never really spoke to us but was just like what can I get you. My wife is gluten free and his explanation of what they had on the menu was pretty disappointing. I just thought it would be better for the price you pay. The meal was over $200. My wife and I ended up back here with another couple after a manager reached out and apologized for the first time. He recommended the bar area due to it having a better atmosphere. He was right. It was a way better experience. Still not the best but better. I still do not recommend for fine dining.

Another great dining experience (gluten free for me) at Char. The sorbet was different this time, and just as good as the lemon one I had last time. I had the redfish, and there was enough for lunch and leftovers, and I had the lettuce wedge again because it was so good the last time I had it. My dining companion had the shrimp and grits, which I know are yummy because I've had that dish... but he was able to have the bread pudding which I can't, of course. Bummer! I do wish they would expand their gluten-free dessert menu. Just having sorbet is fine but I'd like to have other choices - especially in Winter!
