Read the reviews about the gluten-free fish and chips, and decided to check it out for a date with a Celiac girl. We were blown away, crispy batter, moist tender fish, house cut fries, all in a quiet, tucked away little spot with plenty of old school diner/pub themes. Will definitely be coming back.
A cozy spot with an intimate vibe serving local ingredients and creative breakfast dishes, it’s worth the wait for an unforgettable meal experience.

I went there, they told me they were not dedicated. Half of the kitchen is gluten free, and the other 1/2 is not. This listing needs to be updated. Can you please update this listing ?

Mel’s Diner offers a classic diner experience with friendly staff, good food, and a retro vibe. We came at 9:30 on a Sunday and had a 20-minute wait for a table to open for 5 people, which felt like a reasonable wait time. There was counter seating available for smaller groups. We ordered quite a lot of food, and all of it was pretty good— nothing life-changing but a good, solid diner breakfast, with surprisingly good coffee. I typically find diner coffee to be pretty underwhelming. Mel’s menu also caters well for vegan and gluten-free people, which is something a lot of diners and breakfast places are missing. Mel’s has been around for a long time, and it makes sense why good food at reasonable prices with something for everyone on their menu.

Pesto pasta was delicious (very flavourful). Gluten free penne was slightly overcooked and falling apart. I upgraded my dish to include chicken (an extra $6). I was expecting to see either strips of grilled chicken or a whole chicken breast on the plate. There were only a few chicken breast chunks. I was a little disappointed with the amount of chicken for $6.

This burger bar has the option to customize your order to your level of hunger. They have some unique burger options, nice atmosphere, and their staff provide excellent service any time we stop in for lunch.
This family style burger restaurant has delicious burgers and sides to choose from. The portion sizes are excellent and their ingredients always seem fresh.
As a person who eats gluten free they are gluten free supportive and can change an order to address dietary needs with out compromising the quality or flavour. (They do have gluten products and do cook gluten products in their deep fryer just as an fyi)

I have Celiac Disease and can be so easily accommodated in this restaurant. I enjoyed the most delicious poutine while my husband enjoyed (as he described) the best cheese burger he has ever eaten. I am not from Sault Ste Marie but I can guarantee, I will be back to this restaurant on every visit as I travel through the area.
Enjoy a vibrant atmosphere with an extensive menu and quick service, making it a perfect spot for summer visits.

Upon arriving, the hostess was great. Our server, Taylar, is a gem! Very knowledgeable, polite, and very pleasant. I wasn’t sure what to order and she pointed out some great items from the gluten free menu. I was very pleased to see such a great variety. She was very attentive to our needs and made sure she checked in at appropriate times. We always love going to GT’s. The food, drinks, music, and above all, the staff are great.
Stunning waterfront views and a diverse menu make this a perfect spot for a memorable celebration, but reservations are a must!

We make a couple of trips from Toronto to Niagara a year and like so many other reviewers, we have seen the Lakehouse Restaurant but never stopped in. This time we made a conscious decision to stop on our way home for lunch and are we ever glad we did!!
Obviously the location and views are stellar. However what made this experience so special was the food and the service. Our server, Ashley, could not have been nicer or more attentive even with it being so busy. In fact, all the staff we interacted with were so nice and helpful. The food was excellent!! My husband had the lamb burger and I had the goat & beet salad with the gluten free bread plate. The Lakehouse offers little desserts which were perfect to top off the lunch....we highly recommend the skors or the dark chocolate, raspberry, orange desserts.
Reservations are recommended although we were accommodated without one.
The atmosphere was so relaxed and enjoyable and we cannot wait to go back.
We had a really nice lunch here and I would definitely go back. I'm starting to think that vegan restaurants just have better food and preparation techniques. Now, if only the donuts were gluten free! And the cinnamon buns too!
A cozy gem with a diverse menu and a warm vibe, perfect for anyone craving a delightful dining experience anytime of the day.

Had a very nice brunch here. The menu was a little confusing though. There was an eggs Benedict that said it could be made gluten free, but when I asked my server, she said it could not, which was really a bummer. My alternate of toast, bacon and eggs was still good, and very filling.
Expect a safe and thoughtful experience here, with attentive service that ensures your visit is both enjoyable and stress-free.

I am overwhelmed with happiness from my experience at this barBURRITO today. I was recently diagnosed with Celiac, and have not been out to a fast food restaurant in months since being diagnosed. The gentleman who helped me, was AMAZING. I asked him about his Gluten Free option and asked if he could change his gloves and wipe everything down. He did, and not only that, he made sure that my items did not touch anything that was used with wheat, he made sure to offer me options that were Gluten Free Certified, he changed his gloves multiple times, and even put parchment paper between my items on the heat pad. He was SOOOO diligent and made me feel super safe and happy. I am VERY happy, and would recommend this location to other people whom are Gluten Intolerant as me. I wish I would have got his name, the guy deserves a raise! :D
Amazing dedicated fryers and plentiful options make it a must-visit for those looking for tasty meals without worries.

Very live crowd. Great service. Food tasted great. My colleagues had a great time. Everyone else also enjoyed their food. They were very accommodating for one of my colleagues who had a gluten allergy. He seemed impressed well. Although I live on the opposite side of the GTA, I would consider eating here again if I am in the area.
With a charming patio and a menu that leaves everyone satisfied, this spot is a must-hit for an unforgettable dining experience!

The food was okay, but not great. I had the gluten-free pizza, and unfortunately, the crust was disappointing—I’ve had better at Domino’s. My boyfriend ordered the chicken, which was dry and lacked flavor, and the rice tasted undercooked and slightly hard.
My friend had the mushroom pasta, which she said needed more flavor, though she did enjoy it overall.
The biggest letdown, however, was the wait time—it felt like almost an hour before our food arrived. On the bright side, our waiter was wonderful—super friendly and welcoming, which helped make up for some of the negatives.
Overall, it was an average experience, but there’s definitely room for improvement.

Had a work night dinner with some out of country guests and oh my goodness did this restaurant went above and beyond. Attentive service, fully could accommodate the menu for each dietary allergy (dairy and gluten), and had an amazing variety of options from land sea and farm. A bit of a spend but it was worth it for a lovely night out, and the ambiance was divine.

I had the pleasure of eating here on Friday the 14th. The wait was more than reasonable we were told it would be about 45 min, we left our name and returned 35min later as requested and waited less than 10 min to be seated. The service was impeccable we had fresh and delicious coffee on the table within 3 min of sitting down. I ordered the special of Chicken and waffles Eggs benedict with the Jerk Plantains as my side. The flavour's presented were truly fantastic. I truly look forward to dining here again.
Gluten free options were available and also extremely tasty according to the Celiac I dined with.

Today my daughter and I went to The Waterfront restaurant to celebrate my Birthday. It was our 1st time there.
The staff were absolutely amazing. Everyone worked together as a team. It was very busy, but they didn't seem stressed.
Our food was delicious.
Shout out to our server HOLLY. She was a 15/10. She answered all of our questions and gave us good suggestions.
She was very knowledgeable about Celiac and gluten free options! We even moved to sit in the sunshine to have dessert and finish our drinks.
I can't wait to go dine there again.

I recently had Hola Cafe and Market cater a small party for me and it was AMAZING! The planning and coordination was clear, easy, well organized, and very well communicated. Matthew was so great to work with, and really made sure the menu for my event was perfect! The pickup was on-time, and Matt and his brother were great at providing instructions for prep and leftovers storage.
We had a taco bar with tons of toppings, mini empanadas, fried sweet plantains, and churros. The food was absolutely delicious and the talk of the party! I truly couldn’t recommend this place any more highly! Whether you’re eating in, ordering to-go, or having a party, you simply cannot go wrong here!
⭐️ Highlights for me are the mini empanadas and the arepas (both gluten free), the fried sweet plantains, and of course the tacos! ⭐️

We came here a couple weeks ago (when there was a glorious stint of sunshine) and sat on the patio. The service, food and atmosphere was excellent!
I really loved the fact that they had their gluten free options clearly labelled and the food was amazing. The nachos were delicious, the chicken and goat cheese wrap (which I had on a gluten free bun) was really tasty and had loads of flavour. My husband had the chicken tenders, which he said were really nice. I also had a caesar, and Jack Astors always has the best!
Can't wait to come back, as always!

Okfood if you can't eat gluten. Nothing was marked as gluten-free on the menu, but the server presented some options. They do have a gluten-free toast for their breakfast. I wish they had more options for building your own breakfast on the menu, which include avocado, eggs, etc. The restaurant is a bit outdated.
First time being here, so please take this at face value.
It's entirely possible we caught the staff on a bad day.
We arrived Friday morning around 930, it wasn't too busy. We ordered and then unfortunately waited almost an hour for our food. Nothing special was ordered - just two of the first few breakfast options on the menu. There were at least 4 tables that came in well after us and they received their food in under 20 minutes.
Our waitress also asked every single table around us if they wanted more coffee, but not ours...which was a bit frustrating.
The pemeal bacon was wonderful, and they did have gluten free toast which was much appreciated.
The pan fried potatoes were very bland, even though the menu said they were fried with seasoning. I would have loved some hot sauce, but our waitress didn't check on us once while we were eating.
I won't say I'm never going back, because again, it was our first time.
I just hope future experiences for others are better.
With cozy booth seating and a bustling atmosphere, this spot serves up hearty meals and endless coffee refills, making it a popular choice.

We went on market day, Thursday. I had the Caesar salad with chicken, mom had one of the specials on gluten free bread, sister had the southern chicken sandwich, and nephew had the kids chicken tenders. The Caesar salad was good, with a more vinaigrette type dressing than creamy. My mom's sandwich was tiny, likely because the gluten free bread was about half the size of a normal piece of bread. The southern chicken sandwich was good but nothing special, and the fries were nice and crispy. The kids chicken tenders were homemade, delicious, and a large portion. It was very busy, which we expected for 12:30 on market day, so we can understand the 10+ minute wait for drinks. Food came out fairly quickly despite how busy it was, probably 25 minutes. The waters came in tiny, kid-sized cups. I can only imagine how frustrating it is for servers to have to frequently refill these waters on busy days. The service was acceptable, and checked all of the boxes for things that needed to be done like drink refills and quality checks, but our server was not outgoing and friendly by any means. I would probably come back, but maybe not on a busy market day.
Chill vibes and a cozy atmosphere make this a top spot for a perfect night out, leaving everyone eager to return for more!

My husband and I attended Wildfire after a date day in the City before returning home and I must say it was a most excellent decision. The ambiance of the restaurant was relaxed and romantic not loud or busy though the restaurant was packed for a Saturday night. We shared the spinach dip which was flavourful and creamy. Husband had the 16oz with veggies and mash which was cooked to perfection and not a speck leftover. I enjoyed the Tuna to step outside my usual steak and added the shrimp - all was perfect.
Many gluten free options and perfect pairings of wine or dessert spirits available.
This was the best restaurant in a very long time and we will be sure to attend again
Todd our server was quick, polite and efficient without being pushy, intrusive or seeming like it was just a job. Thank you for the lovely night and thank you chefs !
