The menu is rooted in Southern and Caribbean-inspired flavors, and everything is made with care. My personal go-to is the pulled chicken, which is juicy, tender, and perfectly seasoned. Pair it with the creamed jalapeño spinach - a side dish so unexpectedly addictive that I now find myself ordering it every time, no matter what else I get. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, with a laid-back counter-service setup that somehow still manages to feel intentional and warm. It’s the kind of place where regulars bring newcomers, knowing the food will speak for itself. Other favorites include the slow-roasted pork, collard greens, and desserts. They are all flavorful, filling, and made to be mixed, matched, and shared. The portions are generous, and there are great options for gluten-free and dairy-free diners, too. Brasa doesn’t try to be trendy or overcomplicated. It focuses on doing comfort food right. With quality ingredients, bold flavor, and heart, if you’re looking for a meal that hits all the right notes without trying too hard, this is it. @foodiemsp on Instagram

Amazing! Yes the food is unique but that’s what makes this place so special. I always find it fascinating when people go to a place that actively advertises as no refined sugars or processed foods and then complain that it doesn’t taste like the rest of the junk they eat. There were many vegetarian options and as a person with celiac disease this place was perfect. I ate so much but felt good after since nothing was processed or junk. My only suggestion is that if you can’t go in with an open mind maybe just don’t go.

This was my first visit to Capitol Grille and it was amazing! My friends and I went to celebrate my birthday and everything was great! Our server was super friendly and knowledgeable, answered all of our questions and let us know what was the gluten-free options for my friend who is gluten free. All of the food was super delicious and cooked to perfection, I would definitely recommend a trip to Capital Grille for a night out or to celebrate.

I have Celiac disease and need to be sure the food is safe to eat so I don't get sick. Waitress was pushy and wouldn't answer my questions or was annoyed by my requests or clarifications, on top of being short with everyone else at the table. They replaced their gluten free flour for pizza crust with "washed wheat" and still call it gluten free, and they no longer have a dedicated oven for gluten free pizzas or dedicated kitchen space for gluten free items. I would not recommend eating here if you have food allergies because they will not accommodate you. I ate the food I was brought and I am sick. Overall my experience was pretty bad and I won't be going again.

I loved that they accommodate gluten free and dairy free but I definitely feel like if I’m paying the same price as someone with the full dining experience they could have made better substitutions. My least favorite were the gluten free crackers( at least homemade) that I had instead of their delicious looking bread, some mediocre winter squash, which was bland and would have tasted better with the breadcrumbs and the crispy shiitake mushroom, which was unseasoned and the pesto was not a good sauce for it. I think again, it was a second thought because it needed to be dairy free. Overall, the food was good. I really enjoyed the chickpea blue prawn fritter and the artic char. I think because they didn’t really have to do any substitutions with either. The salad was awesome, bright and full of citrus flavor. And the parsnips and cauliflower were seasoned well.

So 49ER Day party at Crave Rooftop was a lot of fun and the food was delicious. I was pretty surprised at how extensive their menu was. Oftentimes, when restaurants have a lot of items and different types and styles, it isn't always good. But when I tell you my bison burger and wings were very tasty. There was lots of flavor and made just the way I wanted. I don't like my wings swimming in sauce, so I asked for light sauce on my wings, and they listened, and it was just how I like. Their menu even has a gluten sensitive menu as well as a plant based menu. I was impressed with their options. If you find yourself in downtown Minneapolis, you should definitely check them out. You will not be disappointed!

Stanley’s has a pretty consistent menu, and while they offer some good vegetarian options, they have been careless with the gluten-friendly side of it. Was poisoned twice, first time they gave me a non-GF bun instead of a GF one like I specified, second time the bartender gave me a random beer instead of cider. Had to forcibly make myself puke in the bathroom from said beer, and the bartender still made me pay for his mistake. A friend of mine who is also celiac was poisoned with a GF bun on a separate occasion. I understand there are risks to eating out with allergies, etc., but this place is way too risky and has made too many mistakes to go back. Last time I went in for a salad they changed the menu and I noticed there are things listed on their menu as “GF” which are in fact not gluten-friendly at all, even with bun/bread substitutes. If you have allergies or are celiac, be very mindful of what you are getting and double check everything if you’re willing to take the risk.

I went here with family for a birthday celebration dinner a few days ago. Place has a fun vibe to it, good service, and great food. Everyone at my table enjoyed their meals. My husband and I had the juicy loopy, and both of us really liked it. Our table also enjoyed the calamari and black bean dip for starters. They even gave my husband a free little ice cream for his birthday, which he really enjoyed. I have some dietary restrictions, but the restaurant was easily able to accommodate with a gluten-free bun (that was actually pretty good for being gluten-free) and made sure the seasoning on my food did not have garlic in it. The one area where this restaurant could do even better in the area of dietary restrictions would be to have nutrition info online (including ingredients for each dish or at minimum a list of which common alergens are in each meal), so customers with restrictions can better see which dishes they can or can't eat. I was also a little disappointed that the chef was not able to come up with another fry seasoning with other spices, since I was told I had to order them naked to avoid garlic. A good chef should be able to easily know some other spice combos that don't use garlic or even just salted would be fine. (Example- olive oil, salt, pepper, and parsley are quite good on fries and are common spices to have around.) We also had a vegetarian at our table and she was very pleased with the large vegetarian selection of menu options here. She ordered the vegetarian "chicken" and rice bowl, and she really liked it. Overall, this place was very good, and I would come here again. My only minor complaint about the atmosphere was it was super dark inside to the point my dad had to use a flashlight to see the menu. I'd like a bit better lighting in the evening hours. Besides making it hard to read the menu, the darkness inside made it feel a bit gloomy if seated away from a window. Otherwise, this place had fun vibes.

It is always a good day when I ask a restaurant if they have a dedicated GF fryer and the answer is "YES"! I was so pleasantly surprised to hear that I was able to eat the french fries. The server also went out of her way to inform me that the malt vinegar aioli is not gluten free so she substituted it for the herb aioli. The fries were delicious and so crunchy. I also ordered the house white wine which was pretty good for $7 and an extra dirty martini. I didn't like the martini but that's on me because it was my first time ever having one! I cannot wait to go back to try more. The atmosphere is great as well and our server was so kind. The fries came out so quickly!

I usually do takeout, but this time, I dined in with 3 kids on my own. The food, service, and kindness of the customers around me made this momma's experience that much better. Everyone devoured their meals. Kids gave it 2 thumbs up and a big smile as their rating. (They had the pancakes and mac & cheese). I am thankful as always when there are gluten-free options. Best of all, I got to enjoy a hot coffee. The servers were so gracious and kind as I had to carry my twin 2 yr olds out of the restaurant football style. They gave me a nod that all is ok....it happens... been there. Dining with children can make or break an experience. I truly appreciated how I was treated by the staff and filled my heart with warmth. I have always been a fan of Hazels and the Sieve family restaurants. 😉

The place is aesthetically pleasing but I would not go back as a person with gluten free/celiac. I only got a Cobb salad with no breadcrumbs which they assured me it can be done with a celiac allergy. About 20mins after my stomach felt awful and still does the next day. My non celiac friends enjoyed it. This post is just for the gf community. I eat out a couple of times a month and have not been glutened in a few yrs.

First time visit, lovely place! Large menu of drinks but also lunch and breakfast type foods. To-go packaged fresh foods as well as options from the kitchen. Packaged foods include cake and baked goods options as well as salads and veggies, parfaits and a few other items. Ample seating but it was packed when we arrived. There was a single 2-seat table perfect for us in the room with the counter, and there were 2 other similar tables. Other tables are in the back of various sizes along with a few booths. Clearly a community-oriented local shop. Lots of other cute local shops in the area as well. Local art for sale on the walls as well as some community information. The coffee is good, though unremarkable. We both got drip though I also had a Florentine which is drip mixed with hot chocolate. The hot chocolate is made with milk and in addition to cow’s milk they have oat, soy, and almond milk options. The Florentine was delicious but how could it not be. ;) It’s a good option to get chocolate flavor but without the extra sweetness or espresso of a mocha. Drip coffee options were 3 different caffeinated and 1 decaf. Nothing is advertised as gluten free but the breakfast and salad menus show options which should be gluten-free but I’m not sure if cross contamination is expected. We didn’t eat so I can’t comment. Plenty of vegetarian options but not much for vegan at quick glance.

It’s a nice casual place for gathering and dining. The meals were a bit undersized for the price. The soup was a tad too salty. There was an order mix up yet they did take care of it promptly. It would be nice to see more gluten-free, vegetarian and children’s options. You can see through mirrors in the bathrooms to the bathrooms of the opposite gender. We loved the breakfast options on Saturday morning, and the HUGE, delicious portions! And...NO WAIT HERE! Down the street the Hen House had an ENORMOUS wait...wwhile we sat right down, ordered and happily were enjoying our meal! Skip the Hen House and belly up to the 8th Street Bar and Grill for AMAZINGLY FRESH, WELL-SEASONED FOOD! The Southwest Chicken Salad was amazing...so much so that we bought it Friday evening for dinner before running off to the WNBA MN Lynx vs NY Liberty game while on our way to see the Lynx win game 4 of the finals! The walk from the Westin where we stayed to this joint was short and easy...and so was the walk to the Target Arena. The steak on the steak and eggs breakfast plate/platter was of a VERY generous size alongside what literally appeared to be a MOUNTAIN, I'm talking like like 2 cups (!!) of seasoned potatoes and wheat toast that was so thick I mistook it for a Belgian waffle on another patron's plate when we arrived! The eggs were gently cooked to a PERFECT over- medium. Similarly, the sirloin steak was EXPERTLY prepared to a precise medium with some seasoned butter plopped atop it when it was served. The ONLY dings this place receives from my review is the server today was crabby and not friendly at all, not wanting to be bothered by our conversation or our questions. Likewise, no one greets you upon arrival, and you enter sort of bewildered while wondering, where's the hostess that all the signs upon arrival state you are supposed to find in order to be seated?! Furthermore, the host refused our request to sit out front saying it was too dusty to eat there...and instead, HE CHOSE for us to sit under what appeared to us to be a dingy overhanging concrete alleyway(behind the blowup/red wavy guy--see photo overhanging, dark area behind where we are posing). Had we had those experiences the evening before when we dined, we likely would not have returned, but the server the night before was accommodating and careful with my need for gluten free options where today the woman literally grew impatient and rushed me along when ordering--NOT b/c they were busy, mind you--they weren't! She sort of rolled her eyes when I asked for no tortilla strips for fear of cross contamination and when I requested no seasoning on the chicken as well as for them to place the salad dressing on the side. I mean, I wasn't trying to be a PITA...I have a severe food allergy, lady! I think someone may have urinated in her cheerios this morning. Who knows? Regardless, her and the host's off-putting ways did not dampen our spirits and enthusiasm for the yummy food we received, thankfully. My only words of caution? A) Wear a parka into the bathroom and ensure you rub your hands together extra long under the ICY sink water, or you'll lose sensation in your fingers. NO JOKE...the temperature upon entry into the restroom HAD TO BE an icy 40 degrees! I felt like I just stepped into the restaurant's walk-in freezer...spouse said the same thing, so I KNOW it wasn't just me! And...B) Do NOT sit outside IF you don't want to smell almost CONSTANT skunk/ Marijuana! It LITERALLY was being smoked at the table next to us! And almost every third walker was actively reeking with it OR actively smoking it as they took their leisurely Saturday morning stroll downtown! Overall though? This place is worth checking out if you want generous portions, yummy, fuss-free food, and no wait! Our food was served in less than 15 minutes both times we visited and was cooked to perfection both times also!

Only open a year at this point. Wife has a gluten allergy, and said their gluten free pancakes were very good. Wife is also a bacon snob haha. I have to agree it’s probably some of the best bacon I’ve ever had and we’ve lived and had bacon all over the world! I had the French toast and it was delicious! Their idea of smaller pancakes is off as my son got their chocolate chip ones and it comes in a 6 stack. They were 6 full sized pancakes! Pricing is very reasonable too. About $10-14 per person. Restaurant is very nice, calming, cozy.

I took too long to finally try this restaurant. I am so glad that I did. I enjoyed the goat biriyani, mini samosa (so cute), and the chai tea. All were made to order with care and quality in mind. This is a slow food experience that is worth the wait. The portions are generous, would be a nice place to share a few dishes with friends. It is a little restaurant, with 3 tables for 6 and some 2-seater tables. I like that the menu is conscious of different dietary needs and choices, including things like animal products, gluten, and nuts. This is also a place where you come for the food, not the service experience, practice patience and kindness and you will be rewarded.

Friendly service from owner Shaun and delicious food! The meat is so flavorful and the sauces have some real bite, especially the REAPER which is a flavorful mouth burner. They have vegan and gluten-free options as well! Guaranteed good comfort food, especially on a rainy day like today. Pro tip: Stop by on Sunday for the s'mores waffles. They really hit the spot, especially if you have kids.

Don't get me wrong, the food I had was great, but in the way you would expect at this price point vs being mindblowingly amazing. However, where I can say they did an amazing job is with dietary accommodations. When asked, they provided a color-coded menu with many different dietary labels, including gluten aware, dairy free, vegan, and allium free. This menu also indicated which items could be adjusted to accommodate a specific diet. Many upscale restaurants are weirdly evasive when it comes to dietary needs, including some that are downright insulting and exclusive, as if people who can't have cheese don't deserve nice food. 112 Eatery's approach was a breath of fresh air. If you or your guest have dietary restrictions, this restaurant is a place you can rest easy.
