MID Overall, we had a mixed experience – some dishes were delicious, but several service and food issues kept the evening from being truly special. • Tasty mains: The lamb (with potatoes) was absolutely delicious and cooked perfectly. • Great gluten-free dessert: The gluten-free rhubarb dessert was a wonderful end to the meal – creative and flavorful. Areas for Improvement • Slow service for basics: Water service was slow, and one of our cocktails was forgotten until we reminded the staff. • Service slip-ups: A waiter dropped cutlery near our table, and we were almost served a drink in a chipped glass (caught just in time). • Table clutter: Unused wine glasses stayed on our table all night, which felt cluttered and unnecessary. • No dish explanations: Each dish was delivered with no description or introduction, leaving us guessing what we were eating. • Food quality issues: Some ingredients not fresh – the cauliflower salad had pomegranate seeds that tasted old, and a gluten-free zucchini flower appetizer had an off (fishy) taste. • Burnt dessert: Unfortunately, the churros we ordered came out burnt, which was disappointing, especially for a special occasion.

Gluten free burger was pretty good!! The bun fell apart a bit, but the chips were coeliac safe, cooked in their own oil and were so good!

Fantastic option for anyone looking for Gluten Free options. With a coeliac in the family, we struggle to find somewhere decent to eat to accommodate both adult and kids taste. Staff were knowledgeable of GF requirements and they confirmed they have a separate fryer for GF food. Great location on the waterfront, service was lovely and the food was fantastic. My Cluck Norris burger was the best chicken burger I've had in a long time. My husband said the GF chicken schnitzel was great, and my son loved the Risk it for the Brisket burger too. My daughter polished off her kids meal in seconds, and said the fish batter was nice and crispy. Highly recommend and it will be our go to when down by the waterfront.

Lovely, lovely family lunch, all our meals were so yum and assistance with the coeliac dining with us was exceptional. Our waitperson, sadly have forgotten his name but not his exceptional service, he shared his Spanish heritage when we we questioning correct prounouncation of an ingredient, anyway, he was fabulous, attentative and informative. Look no further for your next bottomless brunch! The lucky team provided and looked after us spectacularly. So much food and Cuve Blanc with cocktail jugs to last your entire 2 hour booking. So accomodating to our celiac guest and provided free hand held fans to keep us cool while we had our brunch. Perfect for big groups for birthdays, hens parties… just anything you need! I would love to come back and do this again ❤️

If I could give zero stars I would. Please read other comments/ reviews that were made recently and see that there are continuous problems with the value of the food but most of all the management. The woman who claims she is the manager has the most appalling attitude and poor organisational skills. Sitting my family which is inclusive of a Baby under 12 months next to the live loud music despite having a booking is not good enough. Giving my husband gluten even though I specified he is gluten intolerant is not good enough. When I asked to speak to the host she was shouting in my face She was the manager and had an awful attitude. I never asked if you were the manager. I asked if we could sit somewhere else! You are confrontational and the rest of the staff there were dancing around like it was their first day. We asked several times for various things and had a massive Wait time. If we were lucky enough that something was brought to us. Paid $85 for 13 bites of food. Save your money and go somewhere else. Newcastle has a lot of options that are WORTH it.

Catered for gluten-free. I really enjoyed the malaysian coconut chicken and the red smoothie. The only downfall i had was the wait time on the coffee and the burger my boyfriend got wasnt fantastic. I had finished my drink by the time my boyfriend got his coffee. Would have liked them to come out around the same time.

Hands down the best Thai in Newcastle! We come back time and time again (mostly for takeaway because the location and open hours are so convenient). Great flavour, lots of fresh veggies and dishes with a good hit of chilli if that’s your thing. Also cater so well to dietary requirements - can easily suggest when having Gluten Free or Vego friends over. We love everything on the menu, but if we had to choose, our favourites include the curries, Pad Nam Prik Pao, Pad Sieu and Chilli jam fried rice with Moo krob. Delish!

First time in Newcastle and we happened upon the Queens Wharf Hotel, thanks to Newcastle Light Rail which is an asset to locals & visitors alike. No average pub grub here - an extensive menu full of interesting choices kept us happy - think Seafood Linguine (gluten free for me!) amongst plenty of seafood choices, restaurant-quality sides and lots of GF, V & Vgtn options. Staff are well trained, knowledgeable and obliging. Live music started at 2pm on a Sunday. What's not to like?

For a very long time, this used to be our go-to Thai restaurant in Muloobinba Newcastle, offering great flavours and gluten free options. In recent times however, they have not supplied tofu for our vegetarian meals despite it being listed on the menu. This really isn't acceptable for a restaurant with vegetarian options. Tofu is our protein. It's the equivalent of an animal eater ordering a chicken or duck stir-fry only to receive the meal without the meat. If this had only happened the once I'd say it was just a day of poor organisation on the restaurant's part, but as this has happened to us twice now, we're pretty disappointed.

Such a good lunch spot! It had good gluten free options (the seasoning on the chips was AMAZING) and the servers were really efficient and helpful and made the visit really nice. Also, they were very covid-safe and good with cleaning between guests etc! :)

Gorgeous little shop with vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options. Delicious coffee and a wonderful variety of books. I walked away with two books despite telling myself I was only browsing. 😅 The writers' festival event was fantastic - an informative, fun, and intimate place to mingle and get to know other aspiring individuals. (*Despite the rather torential rain outside the door!*)

I attended my work Christmas party here last week and I was absolutely delighted with the amazing service. Our waiter took great care with my dietary needs making sure I could enjoy myself being vegetarian gluten free. Stuffed zucchini flowers were wonderful and they modified a curry for me for my main. Such a treat to have gluten free fries. I had a wonderful time Thank you.

Loved coming to Foghorns on the regular, haven’t been in a while though and was let down a bit by the quality. Upside, the chicken wings are still killer, the blue cheese sauce is heavenly. However, if you’re gluten intolerant, stay clear of the pizza. The pizza bases seem to be a mix of over-salted pancake mix and last Saturday's Sydney Morning Herald. The patatas bravas were average too, soggy and you need a mini excavator to lift them off the serving plate. The beer always hits the pallet great though, they do pour a decent one!

Sensational food of the highest quality. Generous served delivered at just the right pace to truly savour the flavours. Highlights were the focaccia, the delicately pickled giardiniera, the succulent lamb and the semifreddo. One of our party required gluten free fare and every element of his meal was equally impressive. Highly recommended as a top gourmet experience. Delicious!!

The Falcon is great. This place has a fun chilled vibe and really top notch food with loads of gluten free options. Standouts for us were the nachos and the chicken & waffles (not gf), but you can't really go wrong.

Arguably the best coffee in Newcastle. I'm quite fond of the flat white and bagel, and would also recommend the soft tacos. The staff are great, the atmosphere is excellent, and they have a great range of gluten-free options on their menu.

Great little treat really close to the tram stop. The cookies are really big and there's lots to choose from. Also had "low gluten" option which was basically gluten free but baked in the same oven as the non gluten free.
