My husband, son and I came here for a birthday dinner and it was absolutely fabulous. I could not be more pleased with the staff and the food. The restaurant itself is beautiful and it is a truly wonderful experience. I really enjoyed being here for my birthday and enjoying this overall with my son and husband and son,They even made sure not to cause contaminate with my gluten and dairy allergies and I really appreciated that kindness.
Enjoy a vibrant riverside vibe with unique views, perfect for a fun outing with family and friends.

Atmosphere is nice. Service was lovely. Food was not great. Both the gluten free pasta I had and the spaghetti that my husband had tasted bland like something you’d get from a jar and throw together at home when you didn’t feel like cooking. Salad was good though. Disappointed with the cost for what we actually got.
Savor unique dishes like amazing fried mozzarella and top-notch chicken parm in a lively atmosphere that keeps folks coming back for more.

Gluten free fried mozzarella. Was insane. Never would have guessed it was gf if the menu didn’t say it. Chicken parm and bolognese were top notch as well

Nestled in the first floor of the Embassy Suites in downtown Portland, this very active hub has a lot to live up to. Serving great food and spirits with quality one would expect at much higher end establishments.
It's very active and lively, so not the best option for a quiet experience, but fantastic if you want some of the highest quality for a surprisingly low cost. I ordered the frittata with potatoes, that came with a choice of toast. I requested gluten free bread, a side of sausage, and an Irish pick me up, (Irish coffee with an extra kick of espresso). All of which exceeded my expectations. I'm glad I stopped in, and I'm sure you will be too. However, expect a short wait as I'm not the only one that feels so highly of this spot.
A hidden gem with a welcoming vibe, perfect for catch-ups and offering a fantastic covered outdoor patio for a laid-back experience.

We met here with out of town friends on April 30, 2024; three of us are from Hawaiʻi, so it was the perfect place to meet. The food was wonderful! I had the guava chicken, which was broke da mouth, and my friend had the teriyaki ahi, which she said was perfect and was so happy that all of their shoyu is gluten free. Hubby had the Sweet & Sour Veggie Stir Fry, which he really liked. We were so busy talking that I forget what my other friend had! He pronounced it delicious. The mac salad was fantastic!
Our server was outstanding! (I wish I knew his name.) He made sure we were well taken care of, was friendly and helpful, and made us feel extremely welcome. Highest praise to him; he's a real asset to the restaurant.
We were there for two hours, and had so much to catch up on, but our server never rushed us. He took photos for us at our request, and did a great job with that, too.
If I could give more than five stars, I would. Everything about our time there was terrific!
With a cozy atmosphere and inviting outdoor seating, this place offers a delightful experience that's perfect for any occasion.

I love this cafe! I used to live in the neighborhood and have missed it. Great gluten free sandwich today! I hear Jola will be offering dinner service starting Wednesday next week! I'll be returning on my next visit to Portland to try it out!

Lydia was our server tonight and she took such great care of us, we felt like we were her own kids the way we were chatting it up tonight. She is so personable and fun.
The food was spectacular! Nearly everything on this menu is actually gluten free and I was unafraid to eat 90% of this menu! Gorgeous restaurant and actually used to be a speakeasy within the area.
Expand your pallet and give the Lebanese tour a chance, it’s a little bit of everything and really gives you the chance to taste it all. Really was the perfect meal for two to share and fills you up. Make sure to mention if you do have a gluten allergy as they can provide you with pita chips so you’re still included in having a dipping item for all the great sauces you will endure.
Definitely will be back.

This place is great. I think if I didn't have to be gluten free it would be amazing. Since I am, I'm saying it was good/great. (Wish they had Tamari!)
Beautiful restaurant interior. I don't love having to stand in line to order as sometimes the lines are really long but maybe it's different now that things are more open post pandemic.
The outdoor booths are cute but I haven't sat in them yet.
Drinks are excellent too!!

I'd give more stars if I could! The staff was very kind, the restaurant was cute, and the food was absolutely incredible. I have celiac disease but there were tons of gluten free options (the gf pita was divine). I also accidentally left my phone in the booth after dinner, but they went out of their way to catch up to me and make sure I didn't leave it behind. A wonderful experience and I will definitely be back.
The waiter was beyond knowledgeable, turns out he was the owner. Food great. The menu could use more vegan and gluten-free options. The drinks are amazing. Great experience for our group!
Needed good coffee and great food and got both with a view! Breakfast sandwich on gluten-free bread was excellent! Perfect gf bread, which can be hard to find. Husband's breakfast wrap was beautiful and full of veggies. And the iced coffee was amazing!
A relaxed gem with a cozy neighborhood vibe, offering sophisticated dishes and a vast menu that caters to various dietary preferences.

Went here with my teammates from work. Their food is delicious! I had the Cioppino that came with enough toasty French (?) bread to mop up the flavorful broth. Lots of mussels, fish, and other seafood to fill out the large, full bowl - enough to take home for a meal later. Service was timely, friendly, and efficient, and the atmosphere like a neighborhood meeting place. They also had a menu ready for my gluten-free friend - an unexpected surprise! It was a bit spendy, but, then again, everything is these days. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because the entryway is not readily apparent - I had to walk around the entire building to find the door. It was well worth it, though.

Each dish was a masterpiece in itself. Something as simple as olives and chickpeas was elevated to a really delicious dish. The halibut and pork chops were both fantastic.
The service was terrific. One of us eats gluten free and they were extremely knowledgeable about it.
Highly recommended.

The ramen options are on point. And they have soba noodles! That are gluten free and delicious. There is also a full sushi bar at this location --and the sushi is solid. They tend to stick to the classics a bit but they have some cool new stuff pretty consistently. The vibe/interior seating arrangement is good too: Tables where are you sit on the floor, private booths with Shoji screens and regular tables and chairs. The service is on point too --they're fast, and they don't say no, they go the extra mile if you want something special. So if you haven't been there I recommend you check it out. It's definitely a go-to where no one will be disappointed.
All their burgers can be vegan and gluten free! Super allergen friendly menu.
Order through the staff or online so you don't even have to wait. Great food and drinks!
I thought I’d group the photos this time. The guys are graduates & we get together when I’m in town. You’ll notice how HopCity is transformed during their breakfast buffet. Their pancakes are hand sized ONLY for the buffet but you can order normal sized ones from the menu. Yes I enjoy loads of thick crispy Oregon bacon-similar to English & Italian bacon. See that “cup” of ice cream-it’s 3full scoops of Alpine ice cream, locally made craft ice cream. There’s factory tours of their facility. HopCity has both craft & other types of beers & wines. If you’ve allergies like me, notify the wait staff, the chefs will do a great job of substitution to accommodate you. There’s even a gluten free toaster with a wait staff person reminding visitors not to use it with regular breads. There’s a variety of fruit juices, teas & coffees. I strongly recommend you trying Boyd’s Coffee at HopCity & elsewhere in Oregon. It thick rich non bitter coffee (also available in K-cup in groceries).

Such a cool place! Great beer selections and the raspberry seltzer was really good, as I’m not usually a fan but don’t have many options since I’m gluten free. Friendly bartender and great merch for purchase. Music could have fit the theme a little more but it wasn’t unpleasant. Will return next time we’re in Portland!
