Risotteria Melotti is such a cute spot in NYC. All of the risottos are gluten-free, which was great for dining with my Celiac girlfriend. Inside, it’s a small but intimate space. It feels almost like you’re dining in someone’s home because the kitchen is so close by. For my meal, I had the calcio and pepe risotto. It was delicious and extremely filling. After that, I absolutely had to have the tiramisu for dessert. I love tiramisu and this was no different. With the large portions, I could’ve shared my dessert, but my girlfriend wanted the Nutella crepe, which was also delicious. Overall, I highly recommend coming here.

I brought my visiting family here, half of whom are GF (myself included). Like everyone says, all the food is really good here! No compromises just because it’s gluten free. But what I’m really thankful for is the reservation ease. I couldn’t find the group size I needed on OpenTable, so I called and got a person immediately. Needed to call two more times to change the reservation to add someone / change time, and again to confirm they could accommodate a wheelchair 😂 I felt so high maintenance and they were SUPER nice about it. For that alone, 5 stars. Will definitely bring other people here because it’s, to me, in a “classic NYC” neighborhood and gives classy vibes for reasonable price point.

I loved dining here. The food is fresh and delicious. The use of real wasabi is perfect in the rolls. They are the best hand rolls I’ve had so far. Entire menu is gluten free. By no doubt highly recommend if you are in the area. Very safe for allergies, fully gluten free. All the food was fresh and every bite surprised me more than it was before. Usually I am not a big fan of raw fish and sushi but this place really opened my mind to explore more! Sitting at the bar and not the table really made the experience more special.

There's really no reason to go here unless three conditions exist; 1. You keep kosher. 2. You're Gluten Free and Kosher. 3. You have money to light on fire. The menu is amazingly unimaginative and, honestly, lazy. The quality of the food is...fine. But this is NYC. So, really, by that standard, not really fine. And the prices, for what you get, are off the chart. Yes, there's a kosher upcharge, but $29 for a burger, no fries included, is absurd. The place is doing business as it was packed with well-heeled UWSiders and younger ones with their parents' credit card. So, perhaps they're thinking why change it if people are laying out for this. Sorry, you seem like nice people. But it's just gotta be better.

This place was truly five stars from start to finish. They were having some issues with their online ordering portal. I called and spoke to a gentleman who is very nice. Took my order and even met me outside in my car. The food was spectacular. Everything was super fresh. It’s great that it’s gluten-free most things. Our stomachs did not feel any pain. The food was absolutely delicious and it seems like it’s great management and owners. Great find especially if you’re gluten-free Will definitely be back

I don’t say this lightly: Friedmans’ fish and chips might be the best I’ve ever had. Golden, crisp, and gluten-free without sacrificing a single ounce of flavor. The batter was perfectly light and crunchy, the fish flaky and fresh—like it dove out of the ocean and straight into the fryer with purpose. The fries? Thick-cut, hot, and seasoned just right. It’s rare to find a gluten-free dish that doesn’t feel gluten-free, but this one absolutely nailed it. I wouldn’t change a thing. 10/10, no notes.

Phenomenal!! Highly recommend. . Disclosure for big groups. There isn't much seating available so a group of 6 would be a tight fit. . The pizza is served HOT!! but damn it's worth the burns. . They have gluten free pizza available! . Also the staff is friendly.

Ten years ago, I wished for a 100 percent celiac-safe, 100 percent gluten free restaurant with incredible food, nearby. (I even wished for cloth napkins.)This gem opened up and my prayers were answered. It's the perfect place for anyone wanting consistently delicious food. Risotto, arancini, and don't get me started on the tiramisu... Italian feasts, warm, sexy ambience, kind staff. The chef is a culinary wizard. It's a trip to Italy, a block from the 9th precinct.

Such a great find with so many exciting vegan/gluten free options, outdoor seating, and super welcoming and friendly staff. Had the best meal and my daughter was able to safely try foods she’s never had before like fried pickles, popcorn chicken… the burgers were amazing and everything was safe. There are a few items on the menu in that are not gluten free but nearly everything could be gluten free and 100% of their fried chicken is gluten free! Highly recommend!

We hosted a party for 30 people, plus some of our guests' young children, at The Expat. Renting out the bar area is a great option for groups of this size or smaller. They accommodated our dietary requests, including multiple vegetarian options and dairy+gluten-free options. Reasonably priced relative to other options in the area, with good food and drinks.
