Fast, gluten free, and very nice employees. Stopped in for a Bangkok Bowl and a Thai curry soup. The bowl was nice - went with half rice/salad option and added chicken. The soup was good. Both dishes were gluten free.
I’m in town for a trip and I’ll be going back to this restaurant again, knowing that it’s got GF options. Staff were both really nice to speak to and were happy to talk about the menu and the franchises across the country.

I had been to Side Hustle before twice and had such a lovely experience.
So I’m not thrilled to write this. But feel the need to share as I am concerned about what happened to me.
I popped into eat some lunch during burger week, and they only had a burger week menu. Really nothing else on it. Which as a small place I guess is expected.
I was about to head out, and the server recommended the Thai chilli chicken, and I said I can’t eat really spicy food. I then asked if the gluten free Thai chilli chicken could be made less spicy as it was the ONLY thing on the menu that wasn’t beef, or tofu that could be made gluten free.
The server said yes - the kitchen could not add the spicy chili jam to the burger. And I was like great I’ll have that.
The burger came out, everything looked good.
3 bites in and I can barely breathe.
They included the spicy chili jam, and as someone who can’t do super spicy items I nearly choked in the restaurant. It was quite embarrassing actually, I was coughing so hard I had tears streaming down my face. Made worse by how echoey the bar is itself.
The server finally came by after I was coughing for several minutes and I told him there is spicy chili jam on this. He says he will get them to remake it.
I had gotten nauseous from coughing so hard I don’t even want to eat more of the food that isn’t spicy (aka the fries I paid extra for)… So I just say no, thanks. You can take it. I had only eaten a handful of fries and a couple bites of the burger.
It was pretty bad, I was pretty embarrassed.
And I wasn’t even finished my cider before the bill was handed to me.
They charged me for 50% of the meal, burger and fries even though I didn’t eat most of it.
I likely should have said something to the server however I was already embarrassed from coughing so loudly.
I likely will take a second thought before heading back as everything is expensive now, and I’d like to eat what I pay for.
Enjoy an upscale ambiance with cozy decor, great service, and standout seafood chowder that makes it a must-visit!

What a find! The decor is upscale with a fireplace in the back (though I still preferred the front booths). The staff is very personable without being intrusive. And the food is WAY above par -- especially for gluten free options! Many items are already GF and most others have gf options. BEST seafood chowder in all of NS (and I have tried every GF chowder out there). Also, I want to say how reasonably priced everything is here. Refreshing, considering how overpriced most restaurants are today.

Oh my. Such a wonderful experience. I despise being gluten-free and find it embarrassing to have to ask for options. Cassandra was so accommodating, and in short order, the manager was at the table, explaining things to me.
The result was fantastic food. It was our wedding anniversary as well as my husband's birthday. So happy we chose to celebrate there. Thank you so very much. All of you. Oh, and the jalapeño margaritas? An absolute must have!!

I absolutely love the crobster roll from the Canteen. The seafood tastes really fresh and every time I've been there, the servers have been friendly and nice. I've ordered the crobster roll both with the regular bread and the gluten free bun - and I feel like less seafood is given in the gluten free bun (it's a hamburger bun instead of bread slice). Overall, I'd love to come back next time I'm in Dartmouth and I would advise making a reservation beforehand as it's usually quite busy.
I have to say, I called just on the off chance they would have something I could eat (allergic to gluten) and low & behold, they have gluten free pitas, salads, vegan falafel, bean things, etc. So many options! I had to get 2 things for myself cuz I was so surprised & wanted to try a pita AND a salad. Lol. So good! The staff is friendly & the guy I spoke to was fun & made sure the crew took care of me 😃 I'll be frequenting this place when I'm in town!

On vaycay from Vancouver B.C. doing the walk about at Pier21 and stopped into The BG.
Beautiful location, great atmosphere and friendly staff. Huge beverage menu!!
As celiac, it's challenging to find some safe eats away from home. I ordered the gf option Lobster Roll & fries and oh my lord.... fantastic 😋
Thanks for being aware of dietary restrictions for some 🥳
If I'm ever back out this way, will definitely come back.
Healthy and delicious offerings at great value, but service can struggle during busy times due to staffing issues.

The food here is healthy and delicious and great value. They are very good at dealing with gluten-free and I've never experienced cross-contamination. The people who work here work so hard and do an exceptional job of keeping up with the orders. However, shame on the owners and management of this new minus location. There are never enough people working to handle the volume. They need to step up. And I really hope they appreciate their staff and pay them accordingly.

The drive to NS was worth it to go here since NB has not a single Italian market.
This place is small but wonderful!!!!!! Lots of imports of meats, pasta and more Lots of gluten free options from Italy. They also have some pre made gf deserts in their cafe
Some great kitchen ware as well, I was so happy to find the iron I have been looking for.
Staff was great and friendly. Can not wait to go back.
Placed an order through Uber eats and both pitas were made incorrectly. Ordered a chicken pita add bacon and no tomatoes and a beef pita with no bacon and extra tomatoes is what was received. Gluten free pita was over microwaved and one whole side of the pita was hard and inedible. Never eating here again.
Expect massive portion sizes at this not-to-missed spot, offering a superb experience with impeccable offerings despite the slow service.

The service was great (friendly and efficient) and the food was above average. They offer gluten free substitutions for limited items (bread, pasta, tortilla) for a charge, but have limited options for dairy free diet restrictions.
Dickie-Baxter is the latest gem on the what-to-do-in-The-Valley scene. We've been three times and three times, we were wowed by the beautifully presented and wildly delicious offerings of Chef Wayne and Sous-Chef Tammy.
All servers, Nate, Katrina, and owners, Clare and Dom are warm, friendly and attentive. And a nice touch, Chef Wayne comes to the table to see how you're enjoying and to personally thank you for coming in.
Food is healthy and yummy and there's plenty for gluten-free and vegetarian diners. January and February are tough times for restaurants, so please do what you can to keep this wonderful new establishment open and serving our community. If you're staying away from restaurants these days, Dickie-Baxter does take out!
A must-visit for its amazing homemade dishes and vibrant kitchen party nights that showcase local talent—truly an unforgettable experience!

We came to the east coast this fall for an anniversary trip and this restaurant was by far the highlight. Friendly service, excellent homemade food, and the best lobster roll of the whole trip. Plenty of celiac/ gluten free options (including the above mentioned lobster roll!). We ate here 3 times in a week. I don't know if its a usual event, but they also had a live 'kitchen party' style open mic night that had some impressive talent.
Fresh, happy and healthy food. Always a preferred food. The place is so neat and clean. Staff is very friendly.
I am happy to know about gluten free options.
Very unassuming sit-down and take-out restaurant, part of the local community for decades. Full menu specializing in pizza and donairs. Good deals, and good food. Some vegetarian options, along with gluten-free if needed. Family run, which seems not to happen much anymore. Always had a good experience ordering about 30 times over the years. Make it an option when you're hungry.
Subway has been my favorite food to go lately. My husband is gluten-free and they have Gluten free buns. Healthy food as well. I have visited at least 5 of them lately. The new drive through are awesome. I must comment on their cleanliness . My favorite is anew one in Cole Harbour. Excellent and helpful staff. Also the Lower Sackville location in NS. They are very helpful and Clean. Almost all places their staff seem nice and efficient and helpful
Go Subway sandwiches.

I had a Smashburger on a gluten free bun. The bun was outstanding in taste and texture. I wish I could take one home. The burger was delicious. It was busy but we didn't have to wait too long for our food.

I once belonged to the general group of Haligonians that has walked past this place dozens of times without thinking twice. I'm not part of that group anymore, and you shouldn't be either. Just the best pair of folks behind the counter; honest, charming, and know how to make a damn good pizza. Bonus: gluten-free crust available.

Excellent service, line was a rush when we got there and we were hungry and ready to get back on the highway after long day of moving. The staff worked extremely hard and took extra care for every customer in line. I am also very allergic to gluten and she prep'd my sub very carefully, one of the few times I've never had a reaction. Wonderful location and will gladly return 👍
Unique vibes with a fun crew ensure a chill experience, spotlighting thoughtful service and attention to detail for a satisfying visit.

Rave for pita pit
There was a guy and girl working at 530 and they were both nice and having fun while working.
I got a gluten free pita and noticed them change their gloves, put my wrap on a paper off the counter that has touched bread, and even got cheese from a container in the fridge that hasnt been touched by bread covered gloves and even checked if it was okay to cook my stuff on the grill and steamer.
Also double rave for the girl noticing i asked for buffalo chicken and informing me it was actually breaded and if i wanted it or to change it to southwest chicken.
I went to pita pit a few days ago in the city and wasnt told the buffalo chicken was breaded so i broke out in an itchy sore rash on the back of my neck and couldnt figure out why or what i would have gotten into and it would have been from the breaded chicken .
You guys are so awesome! 🖤
