What a fantastic place to have dinner! The service was outstanding—worthy of 10 stars—and the food was simply divine. There are many gluten-free options available, including a dedicated gluten-free menu. We ordered the nachos, and wow, I never thought nachos could taste this good! Every meal that was served was absolutely mouthwatering.
A solid spot for a quick, satisfying bite with customizable options, perfect for a post-move refuel.

We came here for a quick lunch as we knew the food was reliable. They didn’t disappoint as we all gobbled up our food after a day of moving. We ordered the seafood fettuccine, beef dip & avocado impossible burger. The avocado burger was a nice change & wouldn’t hesitate to order it again. With all burgers you can choose to have it wrapped in lettuce instead of the bun. There’s gluten free past too.
Service was decent considering they were busy & short staffed. Great experience!

Came here for brunch shortly after they opened at 10 am on a Saturday. Had their Tan Tan Ramen (non-spicy version). It was tasty! The gluten-free version comes with rice noodles instead of the regular homemade noodles. The butternut squash broth was tasty! It was definitely on the thinner, lighter side, and not as rich as your traditional ramen broth (which we expected). The kale and nut medley were good textural additions! They also sell a variety of plant-based treats at the front counter, and refrigerated and pantry items. I picked up a rice crispy treat to-go.
Staff bring you the food, but diners clear their own table. Friendly service and there is lots of street parking in the area! I came to use my Plant Curious coupon, but also knew of the café previously having purchased their mochi cake mix (by The Plant Based Workshop) at an event last year. I don't live in the area, but would recommend and would be happy to return again!
Chill vibe with indoor and outdoor seating options, plus a nearby parklet makes this spot perfect for a laid-back visit!

St Andrews charges $4.25 for a cookie and $4.75 for a Nanaimo bar. The price of the Nanaimo Bar might ‘just’ pass mustard since it’s gluten free apparently, but $4.25 for a cookie is just wrong. No wonder they don’t post prices. I think these guys are charging what the people who visit this place from other communities can afford, not what their local customers who live in a 1 block radius can afford, and/or what’s reasonable or needed for the cafe to make a decent income. Be fair and follow your morale compass guys. The rest will follow. If you want to cater to what those with higher incomes can afford, maybe give the locals a discount card upon showing the address on their license as compensation for your more wealthy “out-of-community” customers taking up the parking spots on our street. This might also preempt the locals asking for parking restrictions from council. Or maybe a local thanks for your support day for locals who live on the same street.

No MSG No Garlic Foodie
A shopping trip to North Vancouver lead us to Buddha-Full for lunch. To fully check out the menu, I clicked the Order Now button, where there are more items, and I can check 'Nut allergy' or Gluten 'allergy', select all kinds of Add Ons, check boxes on the 'No List' and the Sub menu. They are Buddha by name only – while Buddhists don't eat garlic – some of the menu items here contain garlic 😟. I ordered the Wild Heart Bowl with the miso ginger sauce, substituting stewed lentils with tofu, my partner ordered the Grilled Please Panini. Both looked good. I found the tofu a bit too dry and hard. The sauce was good. The sandwich was very good and so was the sourdough. We also tried the chestnut latte, but the foam milk was underwhelming. Then, I discovered that the entire 2nd shelf of their sweet treats display is gluten free. These days, because I have so many allergies, I have to check all the ingredients before I try anything, and not being to see what the sweets are made of means I didn't feel safe enough to try anything. I did buy the GF Almond Energy Bar which my partner enjoyed. Most of their customers behave like regulars. If I live near this place, I would become a regular as well.

I’ve been to white spot many times in my life, but this experience was one of my favourites. We had a server named Gemma, she was fun and very sweet to my two sons. We recently discovered that one of my sons has a gluten allergy, and Gemma was very helpful in finding all the options for him, and reassuring she would let the kitchen know. Thank you for a wonderful Sunday brunch with my family.

We have been ordering your sandwiches for some time now and LOVE them all. We have have tried every sandwich you offer at least 3 times over. Additionally, we love your potatoe salad and the gluten free snacks. I would love to see a new sandwich on the menu to try. Or maybe a new sandwich of the week to see what sticks. I think you guys nailed this business concept and would love to see more of your sandwich ingenuity down the road.

This is the 3rd location I’ve been to that doesn’t offer gluten free. Why have it on the menu?! Such a waste of time to drive to these locations and be disappointed. Not impressed and will not be returning. This has happened several times now and as someone who is limited to gluten free options, I will be letting others know of this. Do better.
Offering a memorable experience, this spot impresses with thoughtful attention to dietary needs and charming, unique dessert options.

Although we were more recently at the Lynn Valley location (which was also great), we have had many good experiences at this location. A really big shoutout to Darcy (because even though he shared he is usually at the Upper Lonsdale location he was at the Lynn Valley location today). He was attentive and thoughtful regarding a gluten allergy and went a step beyond by providing the gluten free brownie dessert after a really lovely meal and shared how he knows it isn’t always easy to come across a nice gluten free dessert. It was such a wonderful and thoughtful detail that went a long way for us. These are moments that make a customer feel special and cared for - and unashamed despite dietary restrictions/allergies. I wish for everyone who is impacted by food allergies and restrictions to be treated with such kindness, respect, and in this case, additional generosity. Thank you, Darcy and Brown’s for a really wonderful experience.
Enjoy a lively atmosphere with rave reviews for the delicious culinary offerings and attentive service, perfect for a fun night out.

I am on the search for restaurants that offer GF anything. (I am not celiac). I was pleasantly surprised to see they had GF buns on offer for the burger ($3 up charge). With this up charge my expectations were high. When the burger arrived it looked unusual with white spots on the top, shriveled and flat. All for research I thought give it shot… it was horrible the bun was freezer burned, the beef in the burger was dry and bland, no sauce! thank goodness for ketchup that I added!
I would say this was the worst burger ever! I let the waiter know it was horrible. His comment was I will let the “chef” know and then started to explain to me how buns get freezer burn! He missed one point it properly was at the bottom of the freezer for a VERY long time. If you can’t serve a good GF bun don’t offer it!
The burger for $25 not worth the price every with out the GF. As I ate the beef only. I should have complained more but I did not
A word to the chef/cook If it’s freezer burned don’t serve it!
Expect delightful brunch vibes with a retro charm, great tea, and standout dishes that will leave you wanting more.

Fantastic place for breakfast. They have gluten free buns, so they're able to make GF breakfast sandwiches, which was a huge bonus for me. Food was excellent, staff were great, and the tea was actually really good tea! I had English breakfast tea, expecting the usual red rose garbage, but instead, they had really nice organic tea that had colour and flavour! I'll definitely be going back again.

We loved our dinner here. I had the salmon plate, which was Gluten free. It was cooked to perfection and the potatoes with the mustard sauce were absolutely divine. My husband had the Canadian AAA steak; mouthwatering!!
It was perfect for us that it was in the Bridge park, while it may have been more pricey for that reason, it was beyond convenient!
Ooooh looky what I found at Delany's today:
Nothing less than The Actual Factual Meaning Of Life! In a cup of deliciously warming coffee. (I wait in wonder with baited breath for when enlightenment will ensue).
I am LOVING that Delany's Lynn Valley now offers a small but tasty selection of specialised dietary options in their baked goods! I am seeing a regular smattering of vegan, sugar free, or gluten free muffins, energy bars and even scones.
The servers are friendly and quick on their feet, and represent the beautiful diversity our glorious nation.
Keep up the good work! Five stars for this review.

On my third visit, I can confidently say that their Americano is excellent, and I highly recommend their homemade gluten-free Chocolate Banana Loaf.
During our last visit, we enjoyed the Apple Spiced Cinnamon Loaf, along with a vegetarian egg and spinach sandwich. Overall, their pastries are delightful.

If you're in Edgemont and looking for a unique sweet treat, I would highly recommend dropping by BjornBar Bakery! I'm gluten-free, so my favourite would be the Edgemont Bar. Trust me if you're in a rush and need a hostess gift, or something sweet for a party, drop in and get a box of sweet perfection to go! You'll be a big hit!
I ordered gin and tonic for happy hour and got brought a gin and soda. I chose to just drink it because it still tasted fine. I ordered the coconut curry, I was a little disappointed that the rice wasn't gluten friendly, but they offer chopped veggies to dip. I wish I had thought to ask them to sub the rice for chickpeas after, but the curry sauce was fantastic and I felt full afterwards. Washrooms were very clean and we really enjoyed the patio space. I would dine there again for sure.

Gluten-free options, so that's nice.
That is where the nice ends...
While I was sitting, waiting for my food, my friends joined me to wait with me with their food from another shop.
Staff comes out and kicks them out.
So, they stand on the sidewalk by the street, waiting for me to get my food.
Staff comes out and says they cannot stand on the sidewalk. "We own the sidewalk, so you cannot stand there."
Never mind the fact that my food took ten times longer than my friends' food, but now they cannot stand on a public space while I wait for my stuff?
Also, never mind that my friends bought donuts here, can't mix and match, I suppose... kinda ridiculous.
Rude policies.
Basic food.
Unfortunate vibe.

This is my go to place to eat when I am starving and know the food is reliable. I had their usual fish burger with salad. If you have an aversion to gluten or bread, ask to have the burger wrapped in lettuce. A bit messy but worth it. There are other food choices but if you’re a legendary burger fan, go for it!
With the times of inflation, consider their happy hour from 2 – 5 pm and after 8 pm every day. A good selection of beer, bellinis’ or wine. There’s 3 categories of various appies at $6, $8, $10. They also have daily drink specials depending on the day of the week such as ‘Tapped Tuesdays’ - $1 off Nat’s on Tap. Regardless you can’t go wrong at any White Spot. Service was prompt and efficient.
Perfect chai latte with non-dairy milk options (oat milk is my new fav). Also so happy to see they had gluten-free and vegan muffins to go with it. Hoping they add even more GF and V options in future!
So far every time I've gone, I get a genuine friendly smile and greeting and always have something that is consistently tasty. A great option for celiac people as well!
I was taken aback by the quality of this cafe as it had many positive reviews. Firstly, there aren’t nearly as many food options as it seems online. There are no gluten free options outside of two dessert bars. The veggie breakfast sandwich was heated up in the microwave, was under seasoned, and contained an overcooked egg, two spinach leaves, a few sun-dried tomatoes and a tiny piece of feta. They got one of two drinks wrong (it was supposed to be iced). The matcha wasn’t flavorful. I would have given it fewer stars but the cappuccino was average.

Gillaneh grill house opened its first location in 2013 located in Pemberton Ave. North Vancouver, and its second location in 2018 and in Denman st. west end Vancouver. since then, our skilled chefs has been serving both quality interpretations of classic Persian dishes and daring new ventures into the uncharted territories of grilled skewers.
Gillaneh's menu, made by the best Persian chefs, reflects the tastiness of the Persian kebabs, especially the sour tenderloin “Torsh” kebab, and those unforgettable smells of the traditional stew, like Ghorme sabzi and Fesenjun. here in Gillaneh, we have plenty of meaty seasoned grilled skewers you can choose from, and also lots of vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options. see our menu below for details and order online now through one the major platforms.
A hidden gem! Fancy restaurant quality food, with average to low prices in a friendly, relax atmosphere. Fresh bread made on the premise right in front of you & the lovely REAL high quality Iranian saffron dishes & deserts; oh, absolutely FABULOUS! I always think about how many centuries old the recipes are! The quality & taste of the food has been upgraded & the prices remained affordable.
ALI, the kind new manager/owner is a highly educated, very polite & kind gentleman who has passion for food & treats both his customers & his staff with utmost respect & gratitude. He showed me the REAL high quality Iranian SAFFRON he purchases to use in the food made on the premise & once I tried the food & the luscious Saffron desert, "Sholezard", I became highly impressed & could taste the great difference between how food tasted before he took over and the present time, under his management.
Ali never allows farmed salmon in his restaurant's kitchen. When I tasted their new & improved Salmon Kabob made with local WILD SALMON, I got hooked. There you have it: quite reasonably priced, tastier & healthier Salmon Kabobs - which I love with their flavorful Fava bean or plain rice Basmati rice - & grilled vegetables in this laid back restaurant. You must also try their incredible Aash Reshteh {Persian Borscht} & their house made stews which you can have either with meat or vegetarian.
The Saffron desert called, "SHOLEZARD", they make on the premise, is absolutely SUPERB! This SCRUMPTIOUS desert is gluten free, dairy free, low in sugar & I consider it a sort of NATURAL ANTIDEPRESSANT as the high quality saffron used in it, is an aphrodisiac itself. And hey, we can always use some sunshine in this beautiful, cheerful yellow desert in the rainy Vancouver ;-)
All of their kabobs & stews are truly delectable & It's an added bonus that they also have vegetarian options so if you come to the restaurant with a group of people with various food preferences, you all can have great food according to your tastes. The list of the outstanding food & goodies they have is long, but no worries; they have a large wall menu with photos as well as regular menus that depict the dishes. Their friendly staff are always helpful if you have questions or any concerns. ** Don't forget that f you love fresh aromatic bread made in a traditional Persian brick oven, right there & immediately after you order it, you're going to LOVE the fat free, hot, FRESH OUT OF THE OVEN BREAD they make that is sure quite a delight for your taste buds **
All in all, what a wonderful change in the quality of the food since the new manager Ali' has taken over! Their wonderful cooks & the rest of the staff members are very nice & attentive as well. They get quite busy most of the times, yet they always have smile on their faces & work with all of their kind hearts.
I would like to extend my hand in appreciation to Ali & each of his wonderful, hard working staff for their efforts in making everything better & create fabulous Persian food experience for all of us. They've also been amazing when they catered to our parties & the guests absolutely loved & enjoyed the food.
Now we can say that we have an awesome place in British Columbia for Persian food where you will come back to once you try their delicious, high quality food. I wish them all the best.
I moved to North Van in July of 2018. This is my go to coffee shop. The kids love the gelato and I come for the coffee and gluten free muffins. They also have sandwiches that are made with the best ingredients. It’s mom & pop owned and the food is amazing and made with love. I always end up talking to Sanka the owner, who takes pride in her work and is always making new delicious tasty treats for her customers. Great place to study or hang with friends. There is plenty of seating, even a few outside, in front and in back to catch some sun.

Fun, modern, simplistic design with really good art on the walls - done with paint on WOOD by the owner! ♡♡♡
A delightful selection of home made cookies and a few gluten free organic items.
Lovely boutique feel, great service, even when they are busy( brunch). They have scaled back on their gluten free options, but will accommodate reasonable requests. Suggest calling ahead to check with them if you are celiac.
I was disappointed that their eggs were not free range or organic.... but overall really great. Will definitely go back for dinner, looks like they have award winning wines as well.
Gluten allegic people beware ⚠️
My daughter has a severe allergy to gluten. This establishment has plant based meals and when asked about one of the ingredients we learmed that the protien they choose to included in the meal was gluten based. My daughter explained her severe allergy to the server and asked for a non gluten substitute. So instead of offering a simple substitution the server just rolled her eyes and explained that there was a surcharge to remove the protein and another charge if my daughter wanted something else added. For people without allergies it's like "hold the mayo" costs you and extra fee. We removed the gluten based protein and they charged us more but if we were to add a non gluten protein it would work out to be approximately a 35% increase in price to have the same meal. Please remove your restaurants bias against people with a gluten allergy.
