We are lucky to have a dedicated gluten free place in Frederick. Those who have to follow strict avoidance (whether an allergy, intolerance, or Celiac) have limited options when it comes to dining out safely in Frederick. Sanctuary gives those with severe allergies an opportunity for a meal out without the risk of cross contamination and consequences. Thank you.
Get ready for a homey vibe with unique West African flavors and homemade spice blends that'll leave you craving more!

The food, the atmosphere, and the chef are amazing. We came here because my parents looked for a restaurant in the area that we could go to despite gluten allergies. They had such a great time chatting with the chef that they encouraged us to have a family dinner.
We were blown away. My daughter ate 3 massive servings of the jollof rice. My son loved the plantains and chickpeas. My wife and I enjoyed the fufu with chicken peanut butter stew.
There was another couple there that said they had been going to the restaurant for4 years and they were delightful. Looking forward to trying the greens and the Kathi Kathi chicken the next time we come - which will be very soon.

Amazing vegan find in Frederick! My family got the taco salad, kale caesar, açai bowl and cauliflower bites and everything was so fresh and came in big portions. They had a lot of gluten free deserts and options. The place was also very cute with lots of local art!
A lively brunch spot with unique lattes and a great vibe, just expect a wait if you don’t have a reservation.

Excellent food and service.
I had soup of the day (Smokey potato broccoli) with gluten free toast and it was delicious.
I also tried their Brussels sprouts, pine nuts, hummus and sun dried tomato on gluten free toast and just wow! Soooo goooodddd. It’s a bit pricey for just one slice of toast but again, really delicious.
Their gluten free bread is AMAZING! First GF bread that actually taste like bread and doesn’t disintegrate as soon as it touches your mouth.
Their chai tea with almond milk is nice and light and so good in the morning.

I love this coffee shop! I am not a coffee drinker, but I love the smell of coffee (which this coffee shop smells great) and I love their iced chai. Even when it's crowded, it is normally not too loud to focus or have a conversation. I really enjoy the turkey, brie, and apple panini and they have gluten free bread/bagel option (and they specify for allergies so that there isn't cross contamination)! I stuck with just an iced tea to drink today while doing some work. Shout out to Craig who always makes coming here the most pleasant experience! He checked on me multiple times and refilled my iced tea so that I could fully focus on my work :)
Expect a delightful brunch spot with creative comfort dishes, a great atmosphere, and even tasty filtered water to sip on while you enjoy!

The food was just OK. Not much if you’re a gluten-free eater. The grits were not appealing. The iced coffee was weak and tasteless. I’m sure other entrées were better than my omelette. There’s so much this restaurant could do to accommodate gluten-free eaters. Otherwise, the service was excellent and the atmosphere was fine for casual dining.

Always a great brunch. They have a buffet which is great every time. But also pretty much the same every time. They are able to do things gluten free and those items are safe for someone who has celiac disease. The servers are always great here though.
A cozy spot with great ambiance, offering unique options that keep visitors coming back for more delicious experiences.

We were greeted by 2 very friendly young ladies. They were very personable and went out of their way to verify ingredients for someone who has celiac disease! My avocado toast was delicious! In addition , my sister who is gluten free said her egg sandwich was amazing!

Our server Kylee was great! I'm gluten free and they had a menu for me on request. The Atlantic Salad was DELICIOUS from the salmon to the sweet-seasoned nuts. My bf tried the Chicken Delight and reports that the crab went surprisingly well with Rye bread and 1000 island. Vibe was quiet and clean, service was fast and lots of friendly staff. Will be back!

An excellent and unique Italian cafe right in the heart of downtown Frederick.
Delizia offers a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere at all times throughout the day. In the morning, Delizia offers a full service coffee bar and possibly the best croissants in Frederick. They also offer a hot breakfast menu serving American style breakfasts with unique Italian flare.
In the afternoon and evening, Delizia offers happy hour cocktails, a good selection of Italian wine and beers. I recommend the Venetian Spritz. The dinner menu features homemade lasagna, pasta, and gluten free snack sized pizzas.
There are several event evenings, including an open mic / comedy night and a Salsa dance night.
I highly recommend Delizia to everyone exploring downtown Frederick. I expect to become a regular customer!

Adorable cafe in downtown Frederick that made you feel like you were in a French cafe. The strawberry pistachio latte was delicious and just enough sweetness. I was so pleased to find yummy gluten free waffles on the menu. Thanks for the great treat!

Made a lunch visit/sat at the bar solo for a bit after a morning seminar in their private room. Never been there before, but was larger inside than I expected, with a nice bar area. The gluten free pizza (pictured, extra cheese, bacon, and olives) was quite good! Will be back with the husband to check out the happy hour and dinner scene another time soon.
They have very good wood-fired pizza. The service is a little "slow" not first class but ok. The beer selection is ok but could be better. The hours are also hit and miss. I've gone over there a few times and they are closed. So always check the website or google maps if you want to make sure they are open. My wife has had a few of their sandwiches (even gluten free) and enjoyed them too. It has never been crowded...so it is a nice place to sit and talk.
It might be the only place in town that has decent, fresh bagels too!
