Established in 2007 Pancakes Amsterdam is a polarizing entity, the second location in front of Damrak favored by tourists but the original in the Nine Streets generally well-liked by locals even though prices trend a bit higher than more traditional places. Open from 08h00 to 20h00, early arrival or reservations advisable lest one wishes to wait, Pancakes’ menu comprises Dutch or American style with a variety of toppings including favorites designated by a heart. Surrounded by iconic scenery, outdoor seats in the shade a hot commodity, Coffee is basic but good with a packaged Stroopwafel while Pancakes are light and fluffy, perfectly wrapping around plentiful toppings, and available both Vegan or Gluten Free for those with allergies.

It's so nice to have a relaxed lunch somewhere without having to worry about gluten mistakes or cross-contamination. The lunch menu offers enough options. I had the Eggs Benedict. Delicious gluten-free bread with salmon eggs and hollandaise sauce. Worth repeating!

It was amazing to find a place where we can eat everything on the menu!!! Because we follow a vegetarian gluten free diet and it’s not easy to find a place where you can eat EVERYTHING!!! We love it, the place, the food, the attention, Sara the waitress is so kind and makes you feel so comfortable, the desserts were amazing, a lot of choices. We ask for Lasaña, which took a little time of waiting but it was worth it, Nachos, hot brownie with ice cream, chocolate and cherry cake, a nuts cookie with strawberry, and everything was delicious, really love it. For sure, we are coming back soon!!!

Genuinely pleasantly surprised. Despite the crowds, very smooth and well served by a clearly professional team. I eat gluten-free and vegetarian and that combination often limits my menu options to one dish. But here it turned out to be an adapted menu with 3 gluten-free-vegetarian main courses alone. A gem in Amsterdam! "If you have an intolerance or allergy, there's bound to be something for you": it's true! Everything is gluten-free, so celiacs are welcome. The pastries are all gluten-free and delicious. There are petits fours and individual portions as well. The atmosphere is like a break from the city, overlooking a lovely garden. Most of the pastries and drinks are vegan. The store is full of green plants, which is also very pleasant.

Not the cheapest place, and the toilets are pay due to the proximity to the Anne Frank house (understandable and only 0.50€) but very good food. Huge vegan and gluten free options. Sweet and savory.

I have been at several pancakes locations before and would always come back, because the have glutenfree dutch pancakes. It was something i definitely been craving for at that day. Always look out for the flag on your glutenfree pancake - otherwise it is NOT glutenfree!! Almost ate the wrong by accident. Should have given us a discount for the mix up ..

I went here for a late lunch and it did not disappoint. I sat outside in the glorious sunshine and had a rose latte and summer salad. Everything is gluten free so I did not have to worry about any cross contamination. It is also vegan so milk and cheese alternatives are used.

We went today because we saw it on one of the maps with gluten-free options for celiacs. The food was good, but my celiac daughter ordered a gluten-free Gordon's, and they were supposed to have changed the bread to make it gluten-free, but it got contaminated, and she ended up with a stomach ache and vomiting... She didn't eat anything else, so that must have been it... It was a real bummer, because she had a bad time...

I was surprised that I enjoyed my salad so much! It had a wonderful depth of flavor. I also really loved that they had a dressing made without soy and sugar, and they let me replace tofu/tempeh for veggies. & the Gluten Free brownie was so good! ⚡️💖

A very good option for celiacs. There are vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options (both pasta and pizza). The food is generally good. It's not spectacular, but there's a variety. Average price is 20-30 euros per person.

Unfortunately a very bad experience... Got gluten-free stuff last Saturday due to new diet The macaroons were rock hard and really inedible I bought cheese rolls because I can't eat garlic or onion powder. At first bite they turned out to be sauce ice cream rolls... Also had 5 other products and just wanted to bake something from them, it turned out to be 2.5 weeks past their expiry date, so I checked the dates and 2 other products were also already past the date before the purchase date... So we don't come here anymore and a tip for others pay attention to the dates..

Had dinner here last night. Booked in advance and indicated that someone with a gluten allergy was present. They dealt with it very well, explained everything clearly from their own point of view on how they dealt with it. They knew exactly what they were talking about. The food was super tasty, good, fast service and a cozy atmosphere on the terrace. Highly recommended, we will definitely come back!

We bought our wedding cake from Bakkerij De Anti Gluut, as well as some donuts and cupcakes for the day - I would've ordered even more if I could have justified it! Our cake was vanilla and lemon/lemon curd, and vanilla and strawberry jam. The donuts were vanilla and cinnamon with a vanilla glaze. The dairy-free cupcakes were also vanilla with a vanilla glaze. Everything was absolutely delicious and looked and tasted exactly as requested! Communication with Manuela was great throughout, and delivery was early on the day, so there was no stress or worry. I'm so happy that even with coeliac disease I was able to have an incredibly tasty wedding cake and treats! 100% recommend! Thank you, again, Manuela!

Happy that this organic Dutch pancake speciality shop had vegan options and the possibility to customise using the Build Your Own Pancake order! Dutch pancakes are different from American ones in that the former are thinner with slightly crispy edges. There was a vegan pancake available made using flour, as well as a vegan and gluten-free pancake made using buckwheat for a healthier take (and slightly nutty fragrance). Vegan options for the toppings included cinnamon-spiced apple filling, chocolate hazelnut sauce, vegan whipped cream, and strawberry or fig jam. I don't have a very sweet tooth so I didn't particularly love this, but was pleased to try a vegan version of this traditional Dutch snack nonetheless! Hope the savoury vegan options can be expanded with some plant-based substitutes too. Would be good to have a non-disposable container for dining-in as well. Located near De 9 Straatjes, Begijnhof, etc.

Very nice place. Different vegan/vegetarian/gluten free options. I highly recommend the French toast and the bread with red lentil hummus. Price is totally fine for what you get. A must try for Breakfast/Brunch when you are in Haarlem

Had dinner with 7 people. We were half an hour early, was no problem! Small cramped place where we were quite cramped at some tables pushed together. The gluten-free pizza was okay, the real pizzas were tasty, I have had much better tiramisu. The cocktails were unfortunately very sweet, not well balanced. Service was really great! It felt good and they kept everything top notch. Due to the crowds (perhaps?) very noisy and difficult to hear each other well. The extraction could be better because it smelled very much of food. The toilet was very dirty, I reported this to the staff.

Recently enjoyed a high tea here. Very tasty dishes and drinks. Was a bit afraid that the combination gluten-free and vegan (so no cheese) would be difficult for an omnivore with a cheese fetish, but that was not the case. Recommended!

I had dinner at Toet with my sister. The young waitress was very friendly and nice. Toet has various pies and cakes. The "Lava cake" is a brownie with melted white chocolate - a dream! It is also great for people with gluten or lactose intolerance, Toot has a lot of choice for these intolerances. The decor is beautiful, lots of greenery and other relaxing colours. The second floor also has a dining room and it is possible to eat outside.

Fully vegan, gluten-free, and organic eatery. Tasty and nutritious quality dishes, with whole-food ingredients. The Roasted King Oyster Mushrooms was great and came with a cabbage roll filled with lentils and cashew nuts, atop a bed of fennel and parsnip mash. The Vegetable Pie was filled with mushrooms in a creamy tarragon sauce, alongside a pool of stir-fried long beans and cabbage in umami tamari gravy. There were also 3-course meals available. On the pricier side but would definitely recommend this eatery especially for the health-conscious and those with specific dietary needs! Located near the National Holocaust Museum.

Very tasty and convenient. Gluten Free pasta available at a €1 euro mark up and was good. My sister was able to get a creamy vegan pesto pasta that was also gluten free. Only complaint would be that we asked if a vegan pesto option was available having seen it in a previous review but not on the menu - were told it was possible but it was rung up and charged at the same price as the similar dish which included chicken, a much more expensive ingredient without an alternative. Overall would recommend!
