Had the gluten free French toast. It was hands down one of the best I’ve had. Great vibe there. Everyone loved their dishes. Highly recommend. If we are ever back we will return

Wow! The staff at this bakery is incredibly friendly and polite. The store itself is spotless and well-maintained. I tried the Cupcake of the Day, which was a Pineapple Dolewhip flavor, and it was absolutely delicious. It tasted like summer in a cupcake! They have a wide variety of flavors to choose from, including gluten-free options. I will definitely be returning to try more of their cupcakes.

Everything was good except for the grilled octopus which I sent back because you couldn't even chew it. Second time was better but still just ok. But the standout here was the gluten-free lamb poutine, everyone loved that!

This place is pretty good and have gluten free bread. It would be nice if they had some gluten free or vegan pastries offered too. Unfortunately I notice gluten free pastries are lacking in Newport so I'm not super surprised.

My goal is to find the best clam or seafood chowder. The thicker, the better. I was excited to see it was gluten-free, which tells me that it is not thickened with flour.
It was pretty thin. The flavor was good, but I'm picky.
The rest of the food was pretty good. Fish tacos, tuna BLT and gluten-free flat bread were very tasty.
Plant-based paradise with hearty bowls and smoothies; perfect for a satisfying, health-conscious meal on the go.

Delicious and super filling for completely plant based. Had to take some of my salad to go. Great GF options in salads and bowls. Only the bread for sandwiches has gluten.

I tried the gluten-free sweet potato tofu scramble wrap. It was okay. The tofu was seasoned, which is good, but the flavors in the wrap were conflicting. I think they could go all in on the seasoning and turn it into a delicious Indian or Thai style curry wrap. Otherwise, they could substitute tofu with Just Egg and make an American breakfast wrap. In its current state, the wrap is in flavor purgatory!
The blood orange hibiscus tea was fine. I would steep it a little longer but that's a personal preference.
Stunning views and top-notch service make this spot a must-visit, especially for special occasions and large groups.

Even though the staff had a wedding and we were a large group with a late reservation. We got the full experience. It was a cold windy day but the views were divine and we were made comfortable. Even got to take a few 📸. We also had a few dietary restrictions being wheat allergy/gluten free, pescatarian, dairy free, and kosher. The staff was very accommodating. Bobby was amazing! We were in awe of the service we received, and alone earns a full star. He recommended a drink that I want to give another shot in the future. And another all my friends will be drinking going forward. The swordfish was melt in your mouth . I experienced the softest mussels ive ever had. And the dessert was divine. I must know how they managed to get blue berries that aren’t sour. 100% need a reservation. Well worth it. I would recommend exploring more options to make all appetizers gluten free , it’s totally doable. Valet allowed us to carry on and enjoy the evening for a moment. Compliments to the bartender and other other employees.

Somehow my husband scored last minute dinner reservations to the oldest restaurant in the US! We ended up with 5:30 dinner reservations on 10/23/2021.
Running since 1673, the White Horse Tavern exudes history. If these walls could talk! We were seated upstairs next to a beautiful open window overlooking the street. I kept looking out of the window thinking about how many hundreds of people throughout time gazed through this window.
Because we made reservations ahead of time, staff was able to accommodate my Celiac gluten-free requirements.
My husband and I ordered:
Pork Belly with brussel sprouts - $14.00
Pork Osso Bucco- $36.00
1 Cup Rhode Island Clam Chowder - $7.00
Crispy Duck Breast - $38.00
Champagne Cocktail - $12.00
Orange Vanilla Creme Brulee -$9.00
French Press Coffee - $6.00
Subtotal - $122.00
State Tax - $8.54
Meal & Beverage Tax - $1.22
Total - $131.76
It's February 1, 2022 and I still remember how INCREDIBLE the brussel sprouts and champagne cocktail were. These were such a highlight and a must order.
The Rhode Island Clam chowder in clear broth was something I'd never experienced before but it was gluten free so I decided to give it a try. There was nothing that special about it, but may be a good thing to try just to say you tried it.
The one thing that really put a damper on the meal was the table in front of us. It was a table of 4 horrid women celebrating a birthday. They were talking 10x louder than everyone else, bad mouthing and gossiping about people they know who apparently have eating disorders and those people's relationship troubles. Other diners and I were exchanging glances because it was incredibly obnoxious and off-putting. I honestly wish that staff would have asked them to either keep it down or leave, as it really ruined the ambiance.
Other than the rude women who acted like monsters, the dinner and service were nice. This is a must try restaurant for the history alone.
Definitely get reservations as those who walked in and wanted to just go to the bar were turned away at the door.
Discover a refreshing gem with unique dishes like watermelon radish and a lively ambiance that comes alive when bustling with diners.

This meal was refreshing to our palate and digestive system from eating heavy this whole trip. We are glad we stumbled onto this establishment. We ordered the hummus plate with veggies and my first time eating watermelon radish, now probably is my favorite veggie. Also my first time eating a wedge salad with a knife but worth it to have the best salad in a lifetime. Oh just to balance it all with a side of fries as I compared to Wingstop (sometimes not hot/fresh) cause that’s my standard of fresh hot good fires. Also not pictured is the Narragansett beer, is easily my favorite beer of all time due to being smooth that isn’t a lite beer, has the fullness of a beer and don’t taste the hopines of it.
The service was 3.5 stars because we were the only ones when we placed our order and it took a minute to get our veggie plate…. but after that the other two came in a timely fashion. Service provided was welcoming the moment we walked in. Ambiance we had to imagine cause we were the only two until we had to leave but we imagined the full swing of this place of how lively it can be.
**They have good plenty of gluten free options!

My husband and I went here last minute for dinner. Phenomenal clam chowder! Great if you have a gluten allergy! We enjoyed the clam chowder, burger, and the fisherman's platter. Everything was fresh and delicious. We would definitely reccomend coming here and I already can't wait for another bowl of clam chowder!!!

Lovely setting for any meal. We enjoyed the Frito Misto, gluten free tacos, burger and delicious oysters followed by deconstructed apple, coconut crisp, maple cheesecake. OMG it was delicious. Our waitress Julia was attentive to our needs, made us feel right at home and even had a moment to take a photos of our time there. Try the Grounded cabernet. Hot toddy before heading out. View and grounds are a treat. Go…enjoy…
Kellie’s Cafe is a wonderful place to have an English breakfast or an English Afternoon Tea session. I have to eat gluten free and Kellie was so nice and accommodating for my allergy. She made gluten free sandwiches for our Afternoon Tea, which were wonderful! If you want a nice, charming place to experience an English Afternoon Tea or and English breakfast, this is a great place and reminds me so much of the food in England!

I ordered an egg and cheese sandwich with gluten-free bread. I didn't like it very much. The cheese tasted weird. My husband ordered eggs and bacon and liked them, so I may have gotten my order wrong.

We stopped for lunch and a few beverages while Xmas shopping. Gingerbread man Martini was awsome. Carolyn who was the bartender was our server. She was a blast and made for a fun, enjoyable visit. The food was delicious as well, with Gluten Gree options available. If we are back in Newport we will be back again.
So my review was deleted, here we go again.
Worst experience. We were there with my whole family, a group of 10, we came from Florida, we have an special family event, a wedding today so we’re there having brunch all together and I’m vegan so my whole family were eating and I was with my food and Deverly came to the table making bad faces with body gestures, like she did not wanted me and my husband there. Not saying anything, making us uncomfortable and unwelcome, I said what’s going on? And she said that I was not allowed to bring food from another places and I explained to her that I’m vegan and she was making gestures and her body language was so obvious and looking at us with the hostess so we left. I understand that there’s policies but there’s ways to say it. We will never return.
Response: Well, my review was hidden. Her name is Deborah Lee. We were there on Saturday November 2nd around 1:00 PM and we were inside all the way in the back. We were in 2 tables, 1 table with 6 adults and the other table next to it with 4 children. My mother in law sent me a picture of the menu around 12:13 PM also my brother in law, 12:09 so we were there. There’s a lot of celiac, food allergies, food style around in the world and this is the first time that I was treated like that. Non vegan frendly restaurant at all.

I went for lunch. They have gluten-free bread and pasta! I had the rasta pasta with gluten-free pasta. The food was flavorful. Portions were sizeable. They had a board out front that said they serve breakfast as well, which also has some gluten-free options. I would go back and try breakfast if I was in the area again.

Adorable French pastry and coffee shop! They get their pastries from a local French bakery. I got the gluten free banana nut bread and it was amazing! Coffee and service was great, and my favorite part was the French music playing in the shop. Would definitely recommend.

We went on a Wednesday so all the madness was odd. We made a reservation for 7, they asked us to come back at 8. Then we waited until almost 8:30 because the people at our table wouldn't leave. The hostess was very communicative about the wait.
We ordered 2 plates of tortilla chips but they ran out, so we were only able to receive one of the house made chips(they gave us some additional gluten free ones that weren't made at the restaurant that were just like ones you buy at the super market). Our service was fairly sporadic and slow, possibly due to staffing shortages.
Our actual food was delicious, though my burrito bowl came on a plate, not in a bowl or tortilla fried bowl like I've had in other restaurants.
Our waitstaff declined to split our check.
Ambiance on the porch/deck was very cute, with nice fairy lights giving off warm but adequate light to eat by.
Maybe I'll do take out next time.
Fantastic food and service. We had a group of seven and it wasn't a problem for them to handle. The scaliops were some of the best I've had. They were able to accommodate one in our group that was a vegetarian and gluten free. They even had chicken strips on the kids menu to keep everyone happy. Great selection of beer on draft and in cans.
