I am not exaggerating when I say the citrus poppy seed muffin I had today brought tears to my eyes. West Meadow Farm Bakery has, hands down, the best gluten free baked goods I have ever had. The absolute best part? Their loaves of bread are actually sandwich sized!!!!! I cannot wait to make French toast with the oatmeal bread, and a grilled cheese with the white bread. Many dairy free options as well!
Gluten free baking is expensive. There’s no getting around it. There are so many ingredients and components involved. This place is 100% worth the cost. I’m already spending $8 a loaf at the grocery store. I would rather pay $10 for a better quality product and support a small business. And the bread isn’t pre-sliced so I can cut it to my liking!!! I can’t wait to go back!
A vibrant spot with a diverse menu that impresses with unique flavors, but the atmosphere could use a refresh; perfect for takeout on busy days.

First time there. Got warm chicken curry bowl. Establishment is clean, staff are nice, food is fresh and delicious and plentiful. Will definitely go back again and again. I have celiac disease and it's nice not having to worry since the place is 100% gluten free.

The food was fantastic. We ordered 2 different crepes but with buckwheat as one of us have celiacs. They took the allergy seriously which was much appreciated and the food was much better than we expected considering they were suing buckwheat as the alternative.
Will definitely be eating here again when we visit.
Loved that they are open a little late so when you’re in more of a breakfast for dinner mood they have options available.

After experiencing the magical Forest of Lights winter wonderland in Quechee, VT, my wife and I decided to cap off the evening with dinner at Tuckerbox, a Turkish and Mediterranean restaurant in White River Junction. We booked a reservation for 7:30 PM, and though parking was a bit challenging due to what seemed like an event in the area, we eventually found a spot close by and enjoyed a short walk to the restaurant.
The ambiance at Tuckerbox was warm and inviting, with soft lighting and a cozy, elegant vibe. The staff was attentive and welcoming, which made for an exceptional dining experience.
To start off, we ordered the Turkish Meze Platter (small, $14.99) - a perfect choice for sharing. The platter included a delightful assortment of haydari, hummus, babaganoush, Turkish salsa, stuffed grape leaves, and lavash bread, with fresh veggie sticks for a gluten-free option. Each bite was bursting with authentic flavors, and the variety made it an excellent introduction to Turkish cuisine.
For dinner, I had the Lamb Stuffed Eggplant (Karnıyarık) ($22.99) - a beautifully fire-roasted eggplant stuffed with seasoned ground lamb, tomato, red pepper, onion, garlic, and parsley. It was served with rice pilav and a refreshing yogurt cucumber sauce. The dish was rich, flavorful, and perfectly paired with the recommended Angora wine.
My wife chose the Lamb Meatball Güveç (Köfteli) ($23.99) - tender grilled lamb meatballs cooked with tomato, mushroom, onion, pepper, and eggplant. It was hearty and delicious, and the Angora wine complemented it beautifully.
For dessert, we shared the Tahini & Helva Brownie ($9.99) - a dark chocolate brownie stuffed with Turkish helva and topped with a marbling of tahini. Served with crème fraîche, it was a decadent and unique finish to our meal.
Tuckerbox exceeded our expectations with its fantastic food, charming atmosphere, and excellent service. We highly recommend it for anyone craving authentic Turkish and Mediterranean cuisine!
This spot offers a cozy vibe with attentive service, a fun atmosphere, and consistently great feedback from locals and visitors alike.

What a great first time experience! I came in on a whim and was not disappointed, gluten free toast delicious sausage and a full bodied decaf latte.
The staff is extremely attentive to all needs and are efficient and kind. Fun atmosphere with 70s rock/ disco in the background and many locals catching up with each other. One of the staff members even gave me some free cookies as an apology for my latte taking “too long” to make- it was less than 5min.
I highly recommend this little gem!

Yum!
Recommended by a local and yep, one of our new favorite Vermont restaurants. Booked for our anniversary and they greeted us with a "happy anniversary" then offered a complimentary glass of champagne. All around fabulous experience. Great atmosphere and vibe. Super friendly, attentive staff. Interesting, flavorful cocktails as well as standards, great basic gin martini. We got oysters, pizza, and fried chicken. All very tasty. Fried chicken is highly recommended. Plus they have a lot of veggie/gluten free options. So much of the menu we wanted to try. They included a happy anniversary card in te bill. Some might find that a ploy to get more $ but i appreciate the personal interaction and find it charming. We got two desserts. Enough said. For a more upscale but not fancy time come here. We'll be back.
A unique breakfast spot with a funky vibe, speedy service, and a variety of crêpes that cater to all tastes, perfect before a day of adventure.

I wanted to eat everything on the menu, so deciding what to get took a while. The atmosphere was chill, interior was modern and homey. Food was amazing. Blueberry pie with gluten free crepe was blissful. Deja Vu was mouthwatering. Kids loved their crepes as well. Something for everyone. Place was empty at 9:45am on a Sunday, picked up a little by 10:30, but still plenty of tables.
A cozy spot that’ll have you coming back for more, with local flavors and a menu that offers something for everyone; a must-visit!

I never write reviews but this is definitely the best and my favorite diner i've ever been to. We stumbled upon this place while staying in Montpelier for a skiing/VT winter trip. I am gluten free by preference and I was happily surprised to see gluten free french toast on the menu. It's also made from local bread that they sell at the co-op. Absolutely delicious with the VT maple syrup they serve. The coffee also tastes really good and so is everything else we got every day we came (We loved it so much we came back every morning) The homefries are so yummy and the maple meats are insanely good. My boyfriend and I kept waking up excited to come here to eat for breakfast because it's so good and affordable. The staff are also so friendly and cute. Do yourself a favor and eat at wayside it's worth every penny. Places like this are hard to come by where we live so we are so grateful we found it. Will absolutely come back to Montpelier to eat here!

Absolutely fun and charming little place with some of the sweetest and friendly service I've ever experienced! Soups are homemade, delicious, and good for the soul. Sandwiches are simple but delicious! My husband is severely gluten intolerant, and there were plenty of gluten-free options (which is rare!). Looking forward to another visit to Country Girl Diner!

We loved this place from the moment we walked through the door. I have a gluten intolerance and they had the best selection of breakfast items I have ever seen, even though they are a smallish, local restaurant. The food was excellent! Will be back!
Over-priced toppings. My wife and I went to AFB specifically for gluten-free and dairy free Flatbread pizza. Unfortunately, they were out of dairy free cheese, so we had to get it without. However, we added toppings such as chicken, Olives, and sun-dried tomatoes. AFB charges $2.50 for each additional topping, so you'd expect the toppings to be generous, right? Nope. The chicken was thinly shredded and sparse. Same for the sun-dried tomatoes. The olive topping probably equated to one or two whole Olives cut up and distributed across the pizza. So we paid almost $8 for maybe $1 worth of toppings. Absurd.

The absolute best place for breakfast, lunch, or just a quick stop in for a latte or some baked goods. They have the actual friendliest and most attentive staff, the most delicious food, and they even have tons of gluten free and vegan items. My favorite place in southern Vermont (maybe all of Vermont?), hands down. Plus they even have matcha lattes now too!

After our delightful first visit, my wife and I knew we had to come back to Istanbul Kebab House for a proper meal. Last week, we decided to turn our date night into something special with dinner at this Turkish gem followed by a Broadway musical, Newsies, at the Flynn Center. We made a reservation in advance, as this spot is quite popular in the evenings - especially when there's a play happening nearby.
The ambiance was inviting and warm, with soft lighting and traditional Turkish decor creating a perfect setting for a romantic evening. The service was exceptional, and our server, Alexandra B., made the experience even more memorable with his attentiveness and friendly demeanor.
We started with the Small Meze Platter ($16.99), an excellent choice for sharing. The platter featured haydari, hummus, babaganoush, Turkish salsa, and stuffed grape leaves, all served with soft lavash bread. For those seeking a gluten-free option, fresh-cut veggie sticks are available. Each dip and spread was bursting with flavor, making this a must-try appetizer.
For the main course, I chose from the Earthenware Casseroles and ordered the Lamb Guvec ($27.99). The tender, marinated lamb pieces combined with tomato, mushroom, onion, pepper, and eggplant were served sizzling hot, and the aroma alone was irresistible. It was hearty, flavorful, and paired perfectly with the recommended 9oz glass of Vinkara red wine ($16.50).
My wife selected the Chicken Adana Kebab ($22.99) from the Traditional Kebabs menu. The mildly spicy, hand-ground chicken seasoned with Turkish maraş pepper and parsley was grilled to perfection and served with Turkish rice pilav, a side of greens, house pickled red cabbage, and marinated onions. She enjoyed every bite and complemented her meal with a 9oz glass of Ancyra white wine ($16.50), which was light and refreshing.
To close the evening, we indulged in a classic Turkish dessert, Baklava ($9.99). The layers of fresh phyllo, walnuts, and crushed pistachios, finished with a simple syrup, were the perfect sweet ending to our meal.
Istanbul Kebab House continues to impress with its excellent food, cozy ambiance, and impeccable service. Whether it’s a casual dinner or a special occasion, this restaurant is a must-visit in Burlington. We’ll definitely be back again!
A cozy, no-frills breakfast spot with hearty, delicious options that fills up fast, so get there early to avoid the wait!

My girlfriend and I were coming back home to NY from a day of skiing at Okemo and were craving some good food. We found The Publyk House while searching for locations on our route home. It looked good, the menu options looked great, and decided to stop. We weren't exactly dressed for dinner out, but no one commented and everyone was extremely friendly and cordial. The atmosphere and volume of the dining area we sat in (just past the hostess' podium) was perfect. There was a rustle and bustle, but not so loud that we couldn't still talk quietly between ourselves and still be heard.
She ordered a Pomegranate and Lemon Drop cocktail, I ordered the Rumchata Iced Latte. Both were quite enjoyable. For an appetizer, we opted for the Baked Brie (with Gluten Free option Crostini) which considering the chill of the day, hit the spot so perfectly. For our main meals, she ordered the surf-and-turf style sirloin tips, medium rare, with baked potato. I ordered the Hawaiian Chicken; both came with a fresh baked mini loaf of bread and the Publyk House's own maple butter, as well as a salad bar which we absolutely loved. The salad bar had just enough offerings to let us make it our own, while not having so many options to be overwhelming.
Our waitress, Alyssa, was positively great at her job. She seemed just between boisterous and happily familiar with us, just excited to serve us and make us feel welcomed, she was also attentive to us, but not overbearing.
While eating, the employee responsible for the kitchen was on the floor to answer a question about an item and if it was Gluten Free. Later on, I saw that same employee in the back smiling and laughing with the other staff. It's a sign of a great workplace and environment when things run well, and the staff get along. Overall this was a fantastic experience, and we plan to make this place a regular stop!
Enjoy a cozy spot with diverse menu options, perfect for breakfast and lunch, and a focus on sustainability.

Gluten free eggs benedict was a pleasant surprise but somehow only got 1 poached egg instead of 2, and probably paid more for it (GF bread not marked on the menu).
UPDATE: When alerted to the issue, they were very responsive and refunded me for the missing egg. Recommend checking them out!

We stopped for breakfast after camping in Vermont and before heading to camp in New Hampshire. This is such a perfect diner conveniently located for those on the road. The place was clean and the staff was lovely! I got the breakfast sandwich on the gluten free bread and the GF bread was EXCELLENT! So soft and perfectly toasted - and it didn’t fall apart while eating it! My husband got a waffle with the Vermont maple and he said it was delicious. Coffee was tasty and we would 10/10 stop again next time we are in the area!!

Decided to take one of my best friends to St. Johnsbury for his birthday weekend-he showed me the town online and told me about Dog Mountain, so, of course I booked a 5 day trip to the historic VT town! Well, we both love breakfast. I always felt I could eat breakfast any time for any reason so whenever I go anywhere, my first search is “where to eat breakfast near me”. We tried another place the first day…but the second day we went to The Kitchen Counter. It was the best decision for breakfast and the first morning was all I needed to know that this little cafe would steal my pancake, egg and bacon filled heart! I ordered the eggs Benedict with tomato and spinach (I try the Eggs Benny at every breakfast place) and I was not disappointed. Coffee is self serve and free pours. If you sit on the stools at the counter, the servers and chefs are right in front of you serving and making your food while conversation fills the room. The busier it seems, the better this well-oiled machine runs. I decided I would return for the remainder of our trip.
The second day, I couldn’t decide if I wanted blueberry pancakes or the biscuits & gravy with eggs, so I got both and our hostess was full of smiles and a bubbly personality. I haven’t tasted a more satisfying sausage gravy than when I made it myself at home with my grandmothers recipe. It turns out Crystal, the chef, makes this homemade sausage gravy in-house and special for Sundays…I am SOOOO glad I got the opportunity to experience it! I would give The Kitchen Counter Cafe a 10 out of 5 if I could and I encourage you to walk in with a hungry belly because you are bound to be satisfied! They do have vegan and gluten free options.
Enjoy stunning lakeside views, fast service, and a cozy atmosphere that makes this spot a favorite for a delightful visit.

One of the best experiences. I have celiac and this restaurant has the best GF dishes I ever tried. They say gf . I got tuna with coconut rice with mango sauce and my husband also Gf dish sirloin tips with onion rings and brousels sprout in a maple sauce…. SOOOO DELICIOUS! My kids had the best fish and chips. And the view was amazing as well as the service. My lemoncello martini was the best I had. All so perfect
