As a long time customer of True Food Kitchen - for more than 4 years - what initially interested us was the healthy non GMO, Gluten Free menu that does not use unhealthy seed oils (like Canola/Rapeseed Oil) in its food preparation. Since then, True Food has made some slight changes to its menus, including the use of controversial Vital Farms products as well as changes to its gluten friendly pizza dough and hamburger buns, however the one thing that has NOT changed - and is the best part of the restaurant: its employees. Ask for Chantal, Yuyu or Aaron - those are three of the best restaurant professionals you will ever meet! Their can do attitude, combined with their amazing ability to connect with customers is the REAL secret weapon at True Food Kitchen on PostOak. My family can eat at any restaurant in Houston, but we choose to eat at True Food Kitchen on Post Oak because we are always given excellent service and shown kindness when we eat there. Every restaurant should figure out how those three team members work, and copy it exactly - as a customer you leave having had a good meal, and GREAT service. Kindness, always served with a smile - and if there is any problem at all with your order, they are always quick to rectify the situation. You will never sit around with an empty glass of tea if you are being served by Aaron, Chantal or Yuyu. They always put the customer first - which is why, as long as they are working at TrueFood, we will always eat there! Best burger hands down. I recommend the smash burger with tots. Good local beer selection too! I’ve also tried it on their gluten free bun and have to say they have some of the best gluten free bread I’ve had.

Such a great place!! I had so many options and the staff made me feel very comfortable! The food was delicious! I ate so much and enjoyed every bite! Crispy Zucchini, Fried Chicken + Caviar (not too impressive on the caviar, but delicious), Pizza, Pasta, Steak, and Truffle Fries. I was stuffed, but they also offer a gf dessert. Cheesecake!! The real deal!! The environment was great, staff was helpful & professional, and drinks were nice. Loved my night out tonight & still feel good!!

I ordered a burger with a gluten free bun. Wrote “GLUTEN ALLERGY!!” On order and verified with staff that it was a gluten free bun when it was picked up. I got home and it was obviously NOT a gluten free bun! I called the restaurant and the person who answered was very nice but also agreed that it wasn’t gluten free and stated that the staff “missed it” On the order. I asked why they would verify that it was gluten free if it wasn’t. She offered to remake the order…as though I would EVER trust them again. I was also told I should order during the day because the daytime staff is better. Also, I have to wait until tomorrow to get my money back because there is not a manager on duty this evening. I’m seriously disappointed! Anyone that has an allergy knows how important it is that staff take it seriously. I didn’t order fries because they may have been cooked in the same oil as onion rings. BEWARE!!!!

It may seem like a gimmick but if you want some place to try mead, know that it drinks like a beer but tastes like a wine and this is the place to try something you'll like with some amazing food to boot. They have gluten free wrap and plenty of vegetarian options too so this is an all inclusive place.
