Super friendly service, very delicious sandwiches, most dishes available gf. Gluten free. Also a quiter place, a bit out of the touristic zones. We have been here every day we spend in edinburgh! ... okay, 2 days, so only twice, but still !
This cozy spot offers a variety of classic dishes with customization options and a warm atmosphere, making it worth a visit.

The service here is incredible and the staff are very knowledgeable on gluten free meals and how they adapt their menu to fit GF needs. If we were staying longer I’d be back here for breakfast again!
A buzzing brunch spot with a cozy vibe, serving standout dishes while drawing in crowds, so booking ahead is a must!

A hyped up place on lots of GF/DF Edinburgh blogs. The staff were friendly and accommodating, Coffe was good, but sadly not a great review from me. Party of 4, prebooked. We arrived hoping for some yummy or interesting breakfasts as the menu seemed to promise. Their gluten free options were limited and the bread served was horrendous quality, not even toasted or buttered?! We paid between £11 and £17 a head. The food was mediocre at best. Would've liked to try the french toast as that looked and smelt amazing!...but it is only available with dairy. Poached eggs tasted of vinegar.
I would not recommend the items we chose: za'atar spiced scrambled eggs on toast with spicy hollandaise, fresh coriander & jalapeno salsa - very meh and surprisingly flavourless.
poached eggs on toast, + mushrooms + gf bread - tiny mushrooms grilled into oblivion, possibly the worst gf bread ever, untoasted and unbuttered.
hummus on sourdough toast with cherry tomatoes, pickled shallots, za'atar, salda verde, capers & crispy chickpeas - the most interesting of all that we ordered, but really needed more salt! Anyone else of hummus being the go-to for vegans?
Expect a cozy spot with unique menu offerings, quick service, and a lively vibe, perfect for a satisfying meal.

Would certainly recommend this place! Amazing for breakfast and brunch/lunch. I had the Scottish salmon toast, and my gluten intolerant and dairy free friend had the best pancakes. There were a lot of other Gluten free options available!
Sweet staff and quick service even though it was quite busy!
This spot offers a cozy, welcoming vibe with top-notch service and a focus on quality, making it a must-visit in the heart of Edinburgh.

The food is incredible, you can tell they are Italian. They have gluten-free pasta options although there isn't much to choose from. It comes in a VERY small quantity for the price, but it is very very delicious for a treat-meal.
A central gem with a cozy vibe, offering a diverse menu that beautifully caters to various dietary preferences and ensures a delightful experience.

We came here for the final breakfast of a mini break. We were sent over from scran who recommended Hula for allergens. The breakfasts were overpriced and painfully mediocre. I massively resented paying £40 for 2 blah coffees, and 2 plates of avocado toast, one of which was on the crapest gluten free bread available. Sorry Hula, maybe we ordered wrong but really not worth it.

Amazing service from the minute we arrived and even a joke with one of the servers as we were leaving 😊
The food options are varied and I did have slight food envy of the table beside me. However my food was amazing, perfect flavour and good quantities.
One of friends is a coaliac and there is a separate gluten free menu and they have separate cooking utensils etc in the kitchen to make sure there is no contamination.
My other friend is a vegetarian and she liked that there are vegetarian options and vegan options.
All in, this is one of my favourite places to eat in Edinburgh

Very tasty food, also a special menu for gluten-free dishes. The friendly staff pointed out possible cross-contamination due to the small kitchen. Highly recommended.

Came to this lovely place with some friends who lived nearby and recommended it.
Really lovely big open room with loads of windows that look out onto the sea.
Very good menu of breakfast/lunch/treat options.
Their cake displays by the entrance have an amazing range of different items (including lots that are gluten free/vegan)
I had a piece of the carrot cake which was amazing. Not only the best carrot cake I've ever had but also one of the best cakes too. The texture of the cake was perfect and the flavours of the carrot and different spices was also really really good.
My wife had a bacon roll which was very nice. Perfectly cooked bacon on a really lovely roll.
The staff were all really lovely as well. Our friends had their baby with them so we spent a really long time ordering/eating/cleaning up afterwards and we didn't feel rushed at all (despite an endless queue of people waiting to be seated)
We also got some extra carrot cake and other treats to take away which were also really good (Tip - cheaper price of you buy the cakes to take away)
Highly recommend this place and we will definitely be back next time we are in the area

Adapted gluten-free breakfasts, without contamination. They give you gluten-free bread if you want and the menu says what does NOT contain gluten. Celiacs, you can have breakfast in peace, my celiac wife was not contaminated.

Very good gluten free breakfast. I ordered a delicious yogurt with oats, honey and jam. Gluten-free bread for savory breakfasts is also available. Very kind and helpful staff. Not very spacious but well organized and comfortable environment. The only thing I would improve is the brioche with gluten because it was small and not stuffed. Otherwise perfect!

I'm gluten-intolerant and the restaurant provides a separate menu for glutenfree food, with loads of options. What a delight to just be able to choose anything without having to think! Very tasty Italian food à la nonna and nice, cozy atmosphere. We had a wonderful time, thank you!

I went here early one morning since Google recommended this place for gluten free food. The food was ok but the experience was not great. First I was told that I had ordered take away and if I wanted to eat in the shop, there would have to be a 20% surcharge. Then the receipt provided was not properly written, both the items on order show as "VAT" on the receipt. So my experience was not great. I would recommend you try other places if you are looking for a gluten free meal

I got the chocolate cake with ice cream. The cake was, frankly, rubbish. Cake was tasteless, I think it was gluten free or vegan or something, but it was lacking/missing something. The vanilla ice cream was the same, tasteless and gritty, not at all smooth and didn't really melt that easy. I think Asda's own ice cream would be better. The chocolate sauce was pretty good though, but that really shouldn't have been the highlight

They’re as good as the reviews say. Lavender lattes, lots of vegan and gluten free options, and the owner really worked with me to create something actually off the menu so I could eat stuff with my dietary restrictions.
Just a note: have signs everywhere no laptops when busy, which is highly volatile/could change always

The food was nice but it was quite pricey. Roughly £40 for two small-ish breakfasts, and they apply an optional service charge. Decent gluten free options though.

I walked past the Ginger Coo, but something was drawing me in, and I'm so glad I did. I am Gluten-free (not by choice), so there aren't many places. However, the Ginger Coo offer the Gluten-free alternative 😉 and if you are celiac they cook the bits in different fryers or hot plates.
Nadia was extremely helpful and knowledgeable on what i could have and they have a book if unsure about the ingredients. The atmosphere is relaxed with music playing in the background.
For those that are not Gluten-free there is an array of different cakes from all over like Canoli in several flavours, Apple pie, Cheesecakes different flavours, Danishes, Traybakes, biscuits, cookies, Muffins, Marlenka, cakes and much more to say the least 😋.
They have not forgotten anyone there is Vegan Cheesecake and Lemon cake, for us Gluten-free folke thay have gf Carrot Cake and Marlenka (this is best served warm). People please visit this little bistro you will be surprised as we were. Just super i can't fault any of the food and drink and I can't thank Nadia and Talo enough for their help and support around my dietary requirements.

I've tried DD's in 3 places now and it's been good every time. The menu changes frequently as does the location though the vibe of the cafe in Marchmont is great for brunch.
The fried chicken is nice and crispy and a real treat if avoiding gluten (and also if not!). I highly recommend the Korean waffle if it's available (pictured at the Bellfield gf brewery popup). Very interesting flavours and not something you see everyday even with gluten.
They even sometimes have guest pop-ups themselves in Marchmont which is a brilliant idea.

We stumbled upon it by accident, but I really enjoyed myself. I have celiac and they took it very serious. They prepared my food in a separate pan and assured me that they would do everything they can to make sure what I eat is safe. They were very nice and sweet! The food was really good and I would definitely recommend it if you cant have gluten.

Really disappointing experience. Made a booking for a large group for dinner and drinks. Limited space available despite communicating the group size. Very poor service. Lots of miscommunication from the servers, some saying we can order food from the restaurant and bar and some only saying bar. GF guest told they were out of all snacks and that they don’t do gluten free options only to be then told if you come back in 5-10 we may be able to help you.
Long waits for drinks and probably the worst expresso martini. Do not recommend.
