Never been here before. Got takeaway, nice friendly staff and very decent chips. Fish batter was a tad thin so it fell apart and was difficult to eat with a tiny wooden fork, but it was really nice regardless. They have a bunch of gluten free options too for those that need it. And they take card payment. Will definitely be back.
A stylish and quirky spot on the high street, offering a cozy atmosphere, excellent coffee, and an impressive array of sweet treats.

Waiting staff were pleasant. Good job they were taking food orders via app although had to order at the bar for vegan/ gluten free option which was an inconvenience given the lack of staff serving at the bar aswell, which took a while due to lack of staff hence food arriving well after everyone else's.
Ordered a Korean burger which was dry and overpriced for the portion size .very disappointed.
Vibrant atmosphere but food lacked quality.
Expect a relaxed vibe with an impressive menu, great portions, and a welcoming atmosphere that keeps everyone coming back for more.

On a date night, we popped in for some small plates to share with a glass of fizz. I've never been a fan of the hipster-themed dining experience but that's just personal preference. The place was very quiet for a Friday afternoon/evening and for some reason we were seated as far away from the door as was possible, right next to the window (lovely for people-watching on the Hayes) but also right next to the blinds' drawstring, and at some point a server came to pull the blinds down - we protested - and had to lean over my partner to reach. Anyway, apart from that the table was nice, service was quick.
My partner has food intolerances and is a careful eater. We asked the server about their food and he wasn't certain, and had to go to the kitchen several times to check. Even when we thought he had it straight he kept coming back to check and recheck he understood our requirements, which is surely diligent but was bordering on fussy, and it became quite awkward for us, to the point we just said not to worry. We then had a manager come across to check again, and eventually managed to find three dishes from the gluten free menu which had neither soya or dairy in them. The food was decent, but the experience was uncomfortable. I can't fault the servers for triple-checking they had the info correct. I do wish it had taken maybe two or three trips to the kitchen fewer to establish the facts! Still, nice quiet meal, lovely view (when the blinds were up), a nice place to be for a couple of hours.
Cozy vibe with a unique double-floor layout, offering quick service and a great outdoor seating area for sunny days.

I have been to a few of the restaurants owned by “The lounge” and everytime I have been glutened I’ve had to ask about so many things on the GF menu even the coleslaw which by the way at the time wasn’t gluten free….the food is always amazing however I feel the risk is quite high for coeliacs like myself….

The food was excellent. i had the special beef burrito, which was very good, as one the cake to finish - also a couple of Gluten Free options there too. Fully recommended!

As with many Lounges this is a must visit!
They have an extensive gluten free menu. The staff here are extremely friendly and helpful. Always order at the bar to ensure they can put it through as an allergy order.

A good restaurant, part of the lounge range, so if you've been to one of the others you'll get a similar experience. Good range of gluten free foods (menu on their website), pretty quick service. Plenty of seats, no need to book.

We had an amazing lunch here. I’m coeliac, my menu choices were explained and plentiful. We had prawn nachos to start. They were amazing! I had a beautifully cooked steak with garlic butter and Parmesan cheese. The lamb Kleftico pie looked outstanding. Outstanding, friendly service. Can’t wait to go back!

This WAS our go-to place for lunch before a walk to Traeth Lligwy , however, not any more. The menu has been reduced, no ploughman's which was awesome, and smokies are no longer available. The menu is now limited, and Welsh Rarebit is bread heavy, adding bacon is just 1 rasher on top. There's gluten-free options, but with such an uninspiring menu, we had our tea and coffee and went elsewhere for lunch. There is so much competition locally it was easy to find somewhere more inspiring.
Set in an old draper’s shop, this bustling spot is known for its fresh, traditional cooking and a cozy vibe perfect for a casual hangout.

Absolutely fantastic experience at Bill's in Cardiff Bay.
We turned up without a reservation and despite the place being quite busy, we were seated promptly and drinks orders taken quickly.
I'm Coeliac which means boring gluten free dining, but in Bill's there is a whole gf menu so I didn't feel left out. I had the Fish Pie and Banoffee Sundae, both of which were different from usual gf options.
They also did a gf IPA which I wasn't very keen on but nice to have the option.
We were served by Gabriel. He's an absolute treasure.
If you're gf, you should deffo give the place a try!

We had takeout fish and chips from here because of the reviews of the gluten free option. The normal battered fish was very greasy and unappealing, the chips were average. To be fair the gluten free fish was very good but chips limp and rather average.

The Welsh breakfast is an excellent choice, with professional and friendly service from Jake who welcomed us and took our orders. Very accommodating for wheel chair access and GF breakfast for celiacs. Disabled parking is very close to the entrance. I can't believe I have never been to this place before! Can't wait to go again and will definitely recommend.

Really nice gluten-free fish and chips. They also offer GF peas, gravy and curry. I was told that all their fish and most of their food is gf by default.

First time here and it was great. The staff are friendly and it's nice and cosy inside with paintings by local artists. The food was tasty and they have a few gluten free options too - I got the gluten free bacon roll which was very nice. Would definitely come back again, a nice chill atmosphere, perfect for sunny days and a pint.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic Service & Welcoming Atmosphere at Hodo Lounge!
I visited Hodo Lounge last night with my partner, four friends, and two dogs, and we had an absolutely wonderful time! From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, but what really made the experience stand out was the incredible service from Ryan behind the bar.
I have a severe banana allergy, and one of my friends has celiac disease, so we’re always cautious when dining out. Ryan was exceptionally attentive to our dietary restrictions, ensuring we felt comfortable and safe while also being genuinely friendly and easy to chat with.
I ordered the standard Lounge Brunch without tomatoes, and Ryan went the extra mile by offering to swap them for something else. I chose mushrooms for my partner, which was a thoughtful touch. I also ordered the large Lounge Brunch for myself with the same adjustment and got an extra hash brown instead—small details like this make a big difference!
For drinks, my partner had a Diet Coke while I ordered a Daceri Nolarder (alcohol-free). Two of my friends also got the same drink and really enjoyed it, but I found it wasn’t quite to my taste. When Ryan checked in with us after a few minutes, I mentioned this, and without hesitation, he asked if there was something else I’d prefer. I requested a peppermint tea, and to my surprise, he brought it out free of charge—a really kind and thoughtful gesture.
Beyond the excellent service, the food was great, the atmosphere was relaxed, and we all felt incredibly welcome—including the dogs! It’s rare to find staff who not only accommodate dietary needs so attentively but also go out of their way to make sure every guest has a fantastic experience.
We’re already looking forward to coming back, and we’ll definitely be recommending Hodo Lounge—especially thanks to Ryan’s outstanding hospitality.
Charming spot with brilliant cliffside views, offering a diverse menu and unique cake options for those with dietary needs—perfect for a scenic visit.

The cafe wasn't particularly busy, we were asked to take our drinks before the food arrived during this "busy" period. The food arrived 20-25 minutes after we took our hot drinks!!!? I ordered two poached eggs on granary toast at a cost of £7.45. The light meal arrived with a piece of toast missing (repleced with white toast). The eggs were like rubber, and the bread was fresh from a packet. At £7.45 I expect good quality bread, not supermarket bread. Whilst it's not on the menu, I asked for an omelette, I was told "sorry, no" - really!!! You have eggs, you have a frying pan!!! Not much choice if you're gluten free!!!The restaurant was no where near capacity, the outside area at most 1/2 full, the server at the bar was very pleasant. The ordering system is not working. If you're asked to take your drinks and wait for food-refuse. Very disappointing. I will not be returning.

Fantastic local business serving great food in the heart of Solva. We enjoyed the wide choice that catered for vegans and gluten free as well as full breakfasts with the added delicious Welsh cakes.
With limited seating you might have to wait a short time to get a table, but it is worth the wait.
