Overpriced, low end of mediocre food served quickly in a blandly functional atmosphere reminiscent of a generic hotel breakfast lounge.
Went here for breakfast. The food was... Not great. For a place called Biscuits and Waffles, we expected the biscuits and waffles to be pretty good. We were disappointed.
My waffle was merely bland and spongy, soaking up the maple syrup cup without really changing the flavor. Inoffensive, but not exactly bad. The bacon I had with it was a bit overcooked, but again, inoffensive.
My friend's biscuit and egg, however, was apparently rather unpleasant*. It was basically dry bread that tasted like too much baking soda in a vague biscuit shape. The egg was all right, nothing special.
*Apparently their biscuits are gluten free, so maybe that's just what those are like. I don't know.
All in all, it's far from the worst breakfast I've ever had, but I've also had much better at the same price point.
With a cozy atmosphere and a mother-son duo at the helm, this hidden gem serves up deliciously unique baked goods that keep patrons coming back for more.

I appreciate having a bakery in this area that makes gluten-free foods. However, most of the items I've ordered have been disappointing and not worth the high cost. The biscuits are too dense, dry, and salty. The everything bagels are tough and salty. I wouldn't order either again. The cupcakes are okay. I do love the chocolate croissant, though. Get it heated. It is sweet, chocolately, and delightful. I will order it again. Please note this is not somewhere you can sit and eat. There is room for about 2-3 customers to enter, order, and exit.
Discover a charming bakery with mind-blowing treats that will satisfy anyone, making every visit feel like a special occasion!

I ordered a cake for my daughter’s baby shower. Shanna was terrific! I sent her a photo of our art style, and let her do her thing. The finished result was literally a work of art. Not only was the cake beautiful, but it was delicious, moist and fluffy. We chose two flavors, mocha and vanilla. The fondant was perfect. Several of our guests commented that though they had never liked fondant before, they loved this.
No one could believe it was all gluten free.
Corbin’s is pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for.

Had to wait a few minutes to get seated as they were busy. Obviously popular so that's good. Lots of gluten free and vegan options which were clearly marked on the menu and much appreciated. The food was delicious and the staff helpful and friendly.

GF waffle was meh. I have celiac so I am judging in comparison to GF foods purely. The cheese had a crust on it like it was American cheese that had been overcooked and the peppers were cooked somehow such that the skin was still super tough but the meat was mush. The service was also quite slow. The savory choice didn't work out. I do not appear to have been glutened however, so a star is earned back for that.
This cozy diner vibe offers a huge menu with hearty portions and all-day breakfast, perfect for families looking for a satisfying meal.

Typical pancake house atmosphere. That said, the food is awesome, the staff is lovely, and they have a gluten-free menu for those that would like that. Will definitely return.

This cafe is located in Reston near the lake having beautiful view. The ambience is pretty Greek and happy. You can order food from there and enjoy either inside or outside with the beautiful lake view. The pizza was brick oven cooked and was so tasty. They used fresh mozzarella. They have vegan and gluten friendly options too. The staff it’s so friendly. We also had panini that came with chips and pickled cucumber. Its was also nice. They have spicy sauce ketchup and other seasoning too you can use

We have been to the bakery twice now and bought the bakery items from Good Foods Grocery and Elwood and Thompson. We have had the take and bake cinnamon rolls, brownies, cupcakes, and more! Today we tried the strawberry shortcake and it was really good! The cupcakes are my daughter’s favorite. I have a soy allergy and gluten intolerance. My daughter has peanut, most tree nuts , and egg allergies. It’s so nice to be able to walk in and be able to let her have a choice. Thank you!

I recently stopped in with a member of the family with Celiac. First and most important, he didn’t end up in the ER due to food contamination. I had the blackened mahi mahi which was wonderful. The green beans were especially fresh and full of flavor. The bar selection was great and I appreciate the local brews. I look forward to visiting again. Thanks!

A friend and I were on a girl's trip to the area, and we are so glad we went to Mill Street Grill. Hannah was our server, and she was SO delightful. I have to eat gluten free, and she was able to make recommendations to help my meal be delicious but also safe for me. My friend got the prime rib, and she said it was tied for the best prime rib she's ever had. This is a place to keep on the list to visit!

I had dinner at True Food and it was excellent. Lots of menu variety for gluten free and vegan individuals. Our meatloaf (non gluten free) and burger were tasty, prepared exactly the way we requested. The service and ambience was outstanding. When you go, ask for Fernanda to be your waitress. She’s very customer oriented and kind. Emerson the Manager brought out our food and was very professional and helpful. True Food is a great place to eat!

We hoping to grape some delicious coffee on our way out of town. The coffee to me just needed a little something more. It was ok. My son got a smoothie which I tried and was delicious. The have some nice grab and go sweets that offer gluten and paleo options that were yummy. Nice bonus. We did not try breakfast but the menu looked pretty decent when it came to that. Very health conscious place. Atmosphere is on the smaller side so don’t go prepared to side for long.

I've been going here for several years now, and the food never disappoints. This locally-owned restaurant serves healthy, delicious and carefully prepared food -- from delicious gluten-free crêpes to fresh fish. For those looking to binge eat and complain about the portion size, this is not the place to go. For those interested in a healthy, fresh, and delicious French meal however, this place is highly-recommended. It is without doubt one of the best restaurants in Old Town Alexandria.

The wine area downstairs is fine, but charging me $11 for like a thimble size of turkey, one small piece of cheese, and one freaking mustard packet is mind blowing. I have celiacs so can’t have the bread, and they gave me enough to feed a mouse at full price. Ridiculous.

I got the lamb hash but gluten free and it was so warm and comforting.
Amazing gluten free options, quick service and great options.
There might be a line to order but moves pretty quickly!
It has been a while since we visited Taste. Historically have had good service but today even though we clearly stated gluten free due to allergy there was a croton in my wife salad and she got cross contaminated. I took the salad to the staff and they offered to make it again. The second salad had other items not Gluten-free. Very disappointed as they used to have dedicated station for making Gluten-free orders.

I am so happy to have found a local cafe! It is family-owned, absolutely adorable inside, and a great place for families and the community. The drinks are excellent and I’ve enjoyed the food I’ve tried off the menu. There is also a great selection of gluten free items that they keep in a separate display case. They have a really cute kids section that my son loves playing in. I highly recommend to anyone who wants a great quality drink, a nice atmosphere, and great customer service. Sweet potatoe tots were incredible!! I was slightly underwhelmed by the gluten-free pancake, but the honey cardamom butter that they had with it was absolutely delicious. I’m soaking it in enough syrup and butter was amazing- gf anything is hard and yes I would get this again.

Absolutely loved this place! I had a Reuben sandwich and the smoked gouda mac and cheese, and both were delicious. I had the best cold brew with oat milk—smooth, bold, and perfectly balanced. My husband went for the Sicilian flatbread and an iced frappe, and he couldn’t stop raving about it. Since my daughter has celiac, I was happy to see they offer many gluten-free and vegan options on the menu. The staff was super friendly, the service was quick, and the whole vibe just felt warm and inviting. Definitely a spot we’ll be coming back to. A true local gem!

I ordered the no bull veggie burger. The first time I ordered it was really good on the brioche bun. This time around I got it on gluten free bread and it wasn’t that good. The bread was falling apart and the food was cold. However that’s my fault because I ordered it to be picked up and I ended up eating there. Not their fault. Service was ok. I was looking for more napkins but everyone was busy. They were nice though. Everyone had a smile. The place is very nice! I didn’t know they had outside seating. I’ll definitely be back for outside sitting and order right there and then.

I'm a Williamsburg native and Hohl has delivered the coffee/latte quality and experience I've craved for years.
- Atmosphere is warm and inviting. It's a great place to linger with loved ones, catch up, and create new memories. Only note is that it's a bit loud, but that's because Hohl is loved by many. I'm not sure if they can do anything to fix that.
- Parking is easy at both locations. The Toano location has a parking lot on-site and a gravel lot adjacent to the building. The CW location has a parking garage behind it and hourly street parking.
- If you're into coffee, you'll like it here. They HOUSE MAKE their syrups (which is awesome) and offer two sizes; 8oz and 12oz and do solid pour overs. It feels like the coffee scene from RVA is finally trickling into Williamsburg.
- If you have food sensitivities, there's gluten-free options and vegan options available. I don't think they're 100% celiac friendly, but they have those disclaimers on the menu, I believe.
- The staff is service-oriented and kind. Very accommodating and knowledgeable about the products. Shout out to Hosea for being a great barista!
As far as food, bev, and vibes go in the Burg, Hohl is one of the best things that's happened to the city. Very stoked to have Hohl in town and to see what the owners do next. Please support local businesses! <3
