Had an amazing meal at mate cafe. I have coeliac disease and they were able to cater well to this and were very well educated on cross contamination. I felt very safe eating the food because of this. The food was delicious and flavoursome and very reasonably priced. The owners were so kind, we had a great chat! We wish we could have come here again during our stay in Hoi an. Fantastic place, wonderful food and coffee. If you require gluten free bread you must try this cafe. I had the avo on gluten free bread, scrambled eggs, cream cheese and added bacon. There is additional cost for gluten free bread but it is worth it 💖. Hubby had BLT and that was very good as well. Both left feeling very full. I had terrible pain in my gut after eating their artificial meat, I assume it had gluten, but not sure what the actual reason is. I had similar bowel irritation after eating fish cake in pho (Im not vegan), so it’s not only about their product, something is added to that type of Vietnamese sausage no matter vegan or fish one, probably gluten.
I had to take a pill of No-spa ro relieve the spasm.
