We have been going to Asian’s with our family for years and it is the closest we have found to a UK curry in Vancouver - which is a huge compliment as the best curry restaurants in the world are in the UK! Chef Rick has been in this business for over 45 years and he makes everyone feel welcome. All dishes are freshly prepared. He is there early every day prepping all the ingredients. For diabetics it is particularly good - he does not use sugar but instead does magic with onions to introduce a sweetness. This makes the butter chicken the best ever. I can eat here without the food spiking my blood sugars at all - as long as I don’t stuff in too much Nan! The Tandoori mix grill is the best I have had. Mushroom matter is a favorite as is Lamb Sag. Did I mention the butter chicken! He often gives our grandkids a box of home made sweets to go. Gluten free options available and ample free parking on the street outside. I have noticed that Prices have not gone up since before COVID - go along as you won’t be disappointed.

Famous foods is hands down the best little grocery store in Vancouver. And I say little bit it has everything you needs, has a bigger range of specialty goods (organic, gluten free, minimal packaging) then a lot of the bigger and more expensive stores. It’s quick to get in and do a shop and leave without feeling overwhelmed. Can’t say enough good things about this place. Family favourite through and through.

As a newly diagnosed celiac my priorities for dining out have drastically altered. In the past this place wasn’t great in my eyes due to the service staff being not so attentive, however I recently had a great experience and better yet they are very gluten free friendly. I am under the impression they have a specific gluten free fryer and they have many options for celiac. The GF burger was a really impressive surprise and all the GF sides were also very good. Thank you and please keep it up! I will return for sure.

I tried both the Vegan Pizza Special and the Hawaiian and I can't wait to try other flavors. I prefer the regular crust, but had a friend who was allergic to gluten so the chickpea gluten free crust is a great option as well. The owner is such a lovely man as well who took care in answering all our questions. This was the best vegan pizza I've ever had!

This whole experience was amazing!!! Everything we had was delicious - turnip cakes, bbq pork pastry (so fresh!), chili & pepper deep fried fresh oyster mushroom (a favourite), sizzling chow mein, crispy beancurd (another favourite!), and gluten The staff was so friendly. Definitely will be coming back!

No MSG No Garlic Foodie

The vegetarian folk in our family suggested eating at Po Kong. Before then, I hadn't set foot in this place for eons, after being zapped by extreme MSG years ago. Naturally, I was more than a bit reluctant to repeat the MSG experience. We were there for dinner. There was five of us and we ordered 6 dishes – we each wanted to select our favourite dish: deep fried spring rolls, Bean Curd Skin Roll with Black Beans, Sticky Fried Rice, Braised Tofu, Fresh Vegetables on Deep Fried Noodles, Sweet & Sour Delight. We didn't finish everything, and they were all very enjoyable. I was surprised that I could request no MSG for all the items on our order. Now that I've adopted a vegan diet, we've been going back every other week. I read another Google review complaining about the fried noodles being egg noodles – interesting – because now that I discovered my egg allergy, the fried noodles explained why I had a reaction to a simple tofu and mixed vegetable dish. I am guessing that there could be cross contamination from other tables ordering fried noodles around the same time our tofu dish was made. This restaurant is not gluten-free as they use gluten as meat substitutes. Their solution for gluten-free is not to use soy sauce – as they don't even bother to carry wheat-free soy. They also use the same deep frying oil for everything, which is how cross contamination can happen with egg noodles. A lot of the dishes has some form of gluten 'meat'. For example the D9 tofu hot put contains gluten balls. The Colourful Vegetarian Chop Suey in Bird Nest contains gluten ham. G7 Pan-fried Sticky Rice contains gluren BBQ pork. A good way to enjoy the best of Po Kong is really to treat your friends to a meal. With a table of 5, we can order my favourite Bean Curd Skin Roll in Black Bean Sauce, D9 Tofu Hotpot, and even some sticky rice. We've been noticing that after eating at Po Kong, our stomachs feel good even though we might over ate. We no longer experience the usual I've-just-eaten at-a-Chinese-restaurant discomfort.

Tried out Just Pizza on a weekday evening. Snagged one of four available tables. 14 options (12") plus a monthly special, prices are $18.00 to $23.00. They offer gluten friendly crust ($4.00) and cashew cheese ($1.50). - Cumin lamb ($23.00) - lamb was tender. Slices were soggy in the middle - The hottie ($23.00) - much oilier. Tried a slice, didn't leave much of an impression

Some of the wait staff were completely clueless about food allergies, my partner is celiac so this was very worrying. They served him a small piece of fish and a half a raw pepper with a weird gf mango cilantro salsa for $50, would not recommend. There was way too much black pepper and raw garlic in the mussels, and I really like pepper and garlic!

Don't be deceived, White Spot menu and atmosphere competes very well with top 5 star Michelin restaurants, and at half to one third the price ! This is one of the best deals , great food inclusive of healthy options, gluten free, stuff you see at much pricier restaurants. Service is also very good and one can't make a mistake to come here.

We came here on a Friday night. The place was clean and welcoming. Foods pricing and portions were on par, plus we noticed the meats in our wraps were very moist and juicy. The sauces were very fresh too. We ordered gluten free pouting on the side and didn't notice any surpluses oiliness or grease that some other reviewers complained about with the fried food. Overall, the food was excellent and we would come back. We also recently ate at zam zam grill and Sher Donair's offerings are better in every way.

As someone who has celiac disease I am SO IMPRESSED! We walked in after a hockey game with our jerseys on and were greeting with 2 complimentary dishes. Most of their menu is gluten free and they are extremely attentive to food allergies. The dosas here are the BEST in the city and we come here all the time! Everything was delicious, fresh and amazingly South Indian! Thank you so much George (the owner) for the best hospitality!!!

Really good food. Awesome experience. Manager is outstanding and great customer service understanding. I request him for bread crunches for my tomato soup. But manager told me that we don't do bread crunches due to gluten issues. But manager sweet gesture suprise me when he arranged specially for me gluten free bread. Thanks krsma team. Great work. We were walking by this Middle Eastern bakery, and my partner was looking in through the window when the kind generous owner ushered us in and offered us a taste of the sugar free, gluten free almond cookies we were gawking at (wow!). We were also impressed with the 100% whole wheat bread options and the authentic taste of the goods. A lovely family owned business that we will surely visit again - now that we know there are plenty of healthy options - even for the treats.

I had been given a few coupons for some free ice cream, and wanted to finally come see what the fuss was about. Upon my fiancée and I getting there, we were pleased to see the different available flavors and styles clearly marked with their respective allergens. As my partner has Celiac's disease, it was important to avoid gluten, but the staff member at the counter was able to keep is informed clearly about any gluten risk, and was even able to use my 'free scoop' coupon to go towards a pint to take home! Great experience, and FANTASTIC ice cream. The London Fog is very worth trying.
