Stumbled upon this place as we were visiting the area from Toronto. I loved that everything was GF. A lot of dairy free options as well! The food was fresh, minimal ingredients and my stomach felt great after. We tried the breakfast platter, London fog latte, and a few DF/GF pastries that were delicious! Highly recommend the crème brûlée! I haven’t had one since my gluten/dairy intolerance and I was in heaven! I purchased a few more for the road. They also had a Mother’s Day high tea which was so cool because I haven’t found a gluten free high tea place in Toronto. We hope to be back next time we are in the area and would love to try high tea.
We went for my daughter's birthday (she's 9). The kids meal was the best deal. Her steak was bigger than mine and cooked perfectly.
I ordered the sirloin Oscar (8oz). It was terrible, which isn't what I remembered from ordering it before the pandemic. My steak was tiny and thin (no way 8oz), they couldn't even cook it medium rare because it was so thin. For $50 I expect a bit more. The seafood was laughable i got like 2 little cold shrimp and 2 tiny scallops with it.
Our server was super kind and polite, however, he was so slow. Our reservation was at 730pm with a 9 year old and we didn't get out of there till after 10pm and we waited forever for our bill. He did apologize and thank us for our patience but it wasn't overly busy at the time. He tried to be nice and brought us a free billy minor pie for our daugthers birthday but she is celiac (which he knew because we had to make sure her meal was safe to eat) and unfortunately he brought a piece of cake that she couldn't even eat. I felt bad for her and didn't want to refuse it so her dad and I ate it I front of her (I know parents of the year ....) and then took her home for desert. Overall our bill was almost $200 with tip and I just expected a bit more bang for our buck. Husbands baseball sirloin was good, but don't recommend the sirloin Oscar anymore which is sad as it was my usual go to there, but not anymore...I should have just ordered another kids meal lol
For $200 not too sure I'm going to rush back anytime soon, but I'd like to think that wasn't a typical plating .....maybe they were out of 8oz and gave me a 6oz ? I dunno but either way the steak was paper thin.
Didn't want to cause a stink in front of my kiddo as this was her birthday request and I wanted it to be a special night for her. She loved her steak so I'm happy for that!!
